Yes, please make Dabadoru base a bit more impressive, then maybe all the hunters would sit there and have there little gatherings, instead of skulking round the Freeport like the bad kids smoking behind the bike sheds. :P
I don't think that docking means you actually go into a base...its just a game device that permits interaction with fixed objects in the environment. I tend to imagine that battleships and the like are probably self-sufficient and don't need to dock.
Try shooting the base - you'll see it's practically indestructible. The turrets have some blind spots, though...and sadly it can't make mincemeat of camping lolsairs as effectively as some other bases.
The best thing about Dabadoru is how quickly it can deploy our bomberlolswarm. Players are always the most impressive defence.
really - ... dabadoru is HUGE. - i think by that time, we do know that the actual size of a station compared to the ships doesn t mean a single thing. - compare it to the next best planet, and you ll be amazed that its probably a few ten thousands of miles long ( yay for a large station ) - only the ships are too large - but we re playing an arcade shoot em up - not a serious simulation.
@laowei:
that station MUST be in delta. - why? - cause the core is stationed in delta, that is a fact. - it also MUST be there, cause deploying the whole fleet from an allied station to the order made little to no sense. - of course, we were open for other suggestions during the long beta phase.... .
so - in short - the station is large enough .... and it is one of the most logical stations in delta - especially compared to yaren and fp11 which make a LOT less sense.
That said, Dabadoru definitely needs a size (and consequently a firepower) upgrade.
I'd absolutely love to see something similar to Barrier Gate. This is a massively important station, and I think it should reflect that. I'd like to see something incorporating the large ice-asteroid base, spacedocks, smaller asteroid bases, and perhaps four of those nifty "West Point" models and plenty of biodomes and fuel tanks. There should aslo be storage depots around it.
That's just how I see it in my fevered mind.
If someone wanted to put little effort into it, the Advanced Interspace model would work rather well, actually... (Bonn Station, I think uses that.) Battleships dock here, and those Interspace models are about the only stations with actual facilities for docking with ships that large.
And, if not that, then the Advanced Fort Bush model - and even that would be a little bit too small.
Dabadoru should be quite the station.
Right now, it doesn't really make sense in relation to its story and the other stations, it in my opinion. (Again, Order player here. I don't have a hunter. Thus, I'm completely biased against the hunters. Or should be.)
But, in closing:
Dabadoru should be a grand and masterfully crafted station, something to instill awe in anyone who sees it.
It's the crux of an entire high-tech capitalship fleet, and should be a grand and glorious edifice.

I'm going to have to disagree here. But first, I think we should try and define Dabadoru's function. Let's start with the infocard:
Quote:Hidden deep inside Palau Cloud, Dabadoru Station construction has completed in the end of 816 A.S. It provides safe haven, repairs and supplies for Bounty Hunters operating in the Nomad Worlds. Location within an asteroid field ensures that this station is safe from Corsair and Nomad capital ships that frequent Omicron Delta.
So based of this, I would say the functions it serves include safety, repairs and supplies. Now, according to the infocard it is Dabadoru's location within the asteroid field that provides most of the safety, so that means it shouldnt be made large for safety reasons. Just because Corsair player and other players dont RP in accordance to cannon does not mean cannon should be changed.
As for repairs and supplies, the station looks like it would be prefect for that. It has plenty of storage containers to support a BHG fleet for an extended time without resupply and enough habitable space to house a decent number of repair personal as well as patrol pilots.
Lastly, this station is supposed to be hidden and constructed in secret, this pretty much precludes it from being a huge fortress. If the BHG tried to construct a huge fortress in delta, i think the corsairs and order would have put a stop to that pretty early on, especially considering everything that comes to delta must come through either the corsair or order home system... Or the Nomad home system I suppose... dont think that would happen either...
The whole Dabadoru situation is kind of weird, but then there aren't many alternatives that are acceptable. For instance, a base in Omicron Lost would work great for the situation, but it's not something that's going to be ever happen from what I recall.
A stationary Battleships and Repair Ship patrols nearby would be pretty neat though.
Of course, there's always an idea for Omicron Epsilon, being the Core version of Minor. Both attached to Delta and each other. Could make for an interesting dynamic.

Not really
Omega 15 > Omega 41 > Omicron Theta > Omicron 74 > O. Kappa > O. Delta
No Gamma or Minor
Only the Omicron 74 part might be problematic, as its supposed to be Zoner guard system or something, but I think that BHG has permission to pass trough to Kappa.
EDIT: Omicron Epsilon seems like an interesting idea. Jump hole could be near Dabadoru, or even instead of Dabadoru in that cloud.

Oops, forgot about that one. Still, somewhat problematic. Just moving enough resources to build a huge station in delta and keep them defended with no place to re-supply from really, seems unlikely.
Now if it was in a new system, un discovered by the order and corsairs, that's a different story.
