Hi guys you have seen me around as Che Guavara among others. what i would like to see is a role play accadamy , say once a week to give us a crash course if you like for confidence in rp ,I myself am more of a pvp player but got bitten by the discovery bug [exellent, plays air guitar] the thing is people are afraid to try role playing for fear of mistakes an getting into trouble ,many noobies have said this when i try to advise them that thier questions on what ship or wheres this an that could be woven in rp rather than just filling system chat with ingame demands .The other thing I have noticed is the responce from some established players "take it into private noob" a lot of ppl dont answer noobie questions in private ,thats why they flood system [I know this from when i started here] and then the immortal "read the rules" well we all can forget stuff and its not hard to answer a couple of questions and then say id like to play now ask an admin or you,l find more on the forum. i guess im trying to say help the new guy rather than hinder and an accadamy weekly event would go a long way in this aswell as a change in attitude from some. [btw I still dont know sh_t and have to ask somtimes]
I like nighthawk's idea. Rather than setting up a fight, just have some timeframe where liberty factions agree to be in Pennsylvania in mk1 ships and rping, and see where it goes from there. Way more scope for fun stuff to happen that way, too. And it would let the newbies get directly involved at the base level.
Quote:I think if this is gonna work, then it has to be more about RP than PvP. So no "X faction vs Y faction" instead we should depict the common factions in Liberty carrying out their usual tasks. Police patroling and scanning transports, Rogues/Hackers sitting at lanes disrupting traffic, stuff like that. Everyone should fly a mk 1 ship, so Bloodhounds, Patriots, Starlifer/tracker, Rhinos.
Hum .. if we're going to make an event.. I think the roleplay academy is a good idea.
There could be weekly courses for newbies including everything you can do in the game.
They would learn how to roleplay in any situation. You are patrolling and you get engaged, you are trading and you get pirated, you're smuggling and you are arrested by a police force, an enemy country ship enters your territory and your have to take care of this issue. Each sessions could cover an average of everything that happens in the game. Maybe even some guy acting as if he was a newbie breaking the rules and then the event holder, as an example, shows them how to deal with it (I.E. explain him what he is doing is not right. And if he doesn't listen warn him that he will be reported and that a screenshot of his actions have been taken)

The LR already have several active Bloodhounds and at least one Wolfhound that could be used for these events.
I would be up for this...

We would have to do this... if it was a publicly announced then we could guarantee that some lol-idiots would try and spoil this. So we should prob split the people doing this in noob ships/standard stuff.
I guess I should mention here:
DSE has already started a new initiative in Penny for this very thing.
To help new players and help them with money and roleplay tips and tricks.
The two initiatives could work together quite well.
I spent um... quite a few hours last night teach a new player the basics of flight, mining,
roleplay, player missions, trading, convey, and some other things.
When in Penny keep an eye out for DSE.
