My situation is simple. I want to set up a lane hacker with a Liberty Supertransport. The story behind it is that the junkers salvaged the transport after it was shot up by pirates, and sold it to the Lane Hackers.
House pirates can use civilian equipment from their respective house, which includes transports. However, the new cargo limitations for generic ID's, combined with certain factions only being able to dock with certain bases, makes this very difficult to do.
With a generic ID, I can't legally get the ship at all due to cargo limitations. Hacker ID can't dock on the shipyard that sells it. Junker ID can, but then I won't be able to buy the ship - again, ID restrictions. If I grab a corporate ID, I have the inverse problem - not being able to dock on a pirate base to switch ID's.
How would I go about setting such a ship/ID combo up?
It's basically the "I'm setting up, ignore me" ID. You can dock most anywhere to get a ship allowed by your intended ID, as well as anywhere to get missions to get yourself the appropriate tag and rep for that ID. So long as you hold off on pirating/trading/making an ass of yourself until you've got your Lane Hacker ID you should be okay.
You might need a special RP request for that one mate.
Nope. House transports are considered 'civilian' technology, and the Technology Usage Chart says that the Lane Hackers can use civilian liberty tech. The LWB| use behemoths for piracy, in fact. I got a lane hacker with a Havoc MKII set up so I can mess with and demoralize Ageria by robbing them using a bomber they helped design.
After putting some more thought into it, I figured out a method. You bring your recruit ID'ed starflyer to a junker or zoner base to buy a researcher ID, and buy the ship from the lawful base. (Bring extra cash in case of piracy.) Then you go back to the junker base, buy a slaver ID, and dock on the hacker base to do missions and get the ID. (Supertransports have very limited weapon mounts, so you will have to enlist help in doing the missions.) Buy the hacker ID, and you are done.
To any house unlawfuls looking for an alternative to the necessarily overused pirate train, use this method to set up a supertransport or a container transport.
Edit: Look what I found:
