I apologize Chusa Hajime Hiroito-san. No insult was intended.
I am reporting from the Battleship Yamaguchi, where I'm stationed while my new Chimaera is outfitted. Several incidents to report today.
While patroling the border between Kyushu and Tau-29 I spotted a Train class transport and moved to intercept and scan the vessel. The vessel was traveling under the name of Fly.Arrow. As soon as it spotted me it turned to run towards the eastern edge of the Kyushu system, but I was close enough to get a full scan of his cargo hold which contained 3000 units of synthetic marijuana. Repeated attempts to contact the vessel were unsuccessful and it ignored all halt orders. He seemed perfectly willing to travel as far away from the core of the system as needed to throw off my pursuit. I issued a final warning that failure to halt could result in additional future fines and being added to the Kusari known criminal list. With no response I broke off the pursuit and headed back to the border.
Back at the border a small vessel, ID Vertis, dropped out of the trade lane and headed for the jump gate, a quick scan revealing that he was carrying a small quantify of Artifacts. Hailing him he immediately stopped and inquired as to the problem. He seemed genuinely surprised that the Artifacts were dangerous and prohibited. He had found them in an abandoned shipwreck and thought they were just a curiosity. He jettisoned the cargo and it was immediately destroyed. Seeing as he seemed new to the system and was genuinely unaware of the dangers and restrictions surrounding the Artifacts I allowed him to proceed without charging the fine.
It was mostly quiet for awhile and I spent the time practicing my engine kills in the nearby asteroid field, only adding a few dents to my already battered Chimaera, I didn't think the deck crew would notice anyway. Before long I received a hail from a trader by the name of Roy Jonsen. He was hauling cargo into Kusari from Liberty and was in need of an escort to Kyushu. I met up with the transport near Planet New Tokyo but sensors indicated that the known Blood Dragon gunboat "Haze" was in the area. I cruised into the trade lane and fortunately reached Shinjuku station without any interruptions, however scanners had briefly detected the gunboat in the are of the trade lane. Unfortunately before I was able to issue an alert another transport, Tarcil, entered the trade lane and a few moments later it was obvious he had been pulled out by the pirate.
At this point I made what may have been a bad call and chose to enter the trade lane again in the hopes of assisting the trader. Dropping out behind the gunboat I sent out an alert which was promptly ignored and opened fire on the gunboat, hoping that the distraction would allow the trader to escape. The filthy pirate instead decided to open up with all of the weapons at his disposal and destroy the trader before turning his attention to me. It had been clear from the beginning that I would not be able to bring down the gunboat alone and after a few minutes I was forced to fall back, my shield batteries completely depleted.
Reviewing the system logs it was clear that the transport crew had managed to escape before the ship was destroyed and their escape pods had been recovered by a rescue vessel from Planet New Tokyo.
The one piece of good news from the event was that Roy Jonsen did manage to get through safely and after escorting him through Kyushu I showed him the Shikoku Jump Hole from Kyushu. Jumping through ahead of the trader I was a bit surprised to see a pirate hanging right in front of the exit point. Seems he was a bit surprised as well and immediately cruised away.
The final incident, as my fellow warrior has already reported, involved the HMS Waterwitch. A Bretonia Gunboat class ship. Patroling in the area surrounding the Nago Station in Tau-29 a trader alerted me to a possible pirate near the trade lane to Kyushu. I immediately headed out and drop from the trade lane after a short distance, confronted with what was quite possibly the ugliest ship I've ever seen. Ever. And not scary ugly either.
A quick scan of the gunboat revealed that it was very heavily armored and armed and I attempted to pull back and avoid a confrontation. But my reaction was too slow, the gunboat opened up with its considerable firepower and with half a dozen missiles heading my way I was forced to eject. Fortunately for me the Bretonians were as sloppy as ever and did not notice my escape pod. Once the gunboat had cleared the area a rescue vessel from the Nago pulled in my pod. I caught a ride on the next transport to the Battleship Yamaguchi, and this is where I've been for the past few days. I expect to be ready for action shortly.
Oh, one last report. There was also a Zoner transport, Trader.Frey, that had intended to take Optronics to Bretonia. Apparently the pilot had fallen asleep in the trade late and he slowly drifted out quite a ways past the Jump Gate. I finally fired a couple glancing shots off his shield which seemed to jolt him from his nap and he responded to the radio hails a few minutes later. He turned back without incident.
Around 19:00 STM, we got a distress call from the Nagasaki, about a BAF swarm in Leeds.
As I was at Hiroshima due to training sessions with some of the Shōis, it took me a while to get to Leeds.
After a while, I got to the Nagasaki, where I met 3 KNF warriors. They weren't the guys I used to see, but they did do a great job. After we got the coordinates of the enemy fleet, the 4 of us moved to intercept them.
We found the enemy around sector E-5, seems they planed to strike on the Stokes Mining Station.
Around the Stokes, there was another KNF pilots, who offered his power to help us. There were 5 Bretonians, and 5 of us.
The fight started quick, and for 20 minutes or so, it was equal for both sides. But, suddenly, one of the Bretonians suffered a instant explotion. A bit of luck for us, also we made a lot of damage on Richards.
Someone said something about a blackhole, due to the magical explotion of the BAF. It must be fate, because just after saying that, this inexplicable energy got my ship too.
I made in time to eject from the Chimaera, but, there were not rest of it. Not even to examinate them.
Lucky me, the Bretonians were too busy fighting the rest of the KNF, as I made it to fly on my escape pod to Stokes.
I do recomend to investigate about this "Black Holes", we can't lose more ships on this random kills.
During a patrol in Kyushu I received a distress call from a Gaian who I had previously encountered on several patrols. Apparently there was a wing of BAF fighters in Tau-31. I immediately headed to that system, confirming along the way that a number of KNF Samurai fighters as well as a couple friendly fighters were in the system as well.
Our forces were slightly out numbered however I was having trouble with my targeting computer and did not feel that I would be able to accurately target the enemy if I did engage. The battle continued for some time and I ultimately decided that I must assist despite the continued targeting problems.
The battle continued for some time with neither side gaining the upper hand until my shields were finally knocked out and several missiles did significant damage to my hull. I attempted to pull back from the fight but it was too late and several of the fighters opened fire on my Chimaera. I immediately ejected and my fighter was destroyed. Fortunately we were in the area of the Battleship Yamaguchi and I was able to successfully navigate to the battleship and my pod was retrieved.
Well, at least I'll have a new targeting computer.
Reporting in from the KNF base on Planet Kyushu. I am honored to have been promoted to the rank of Daii. Thank you for the opportunity to serve among you all.
Pirate activity has increased in Kyushu recently and I have been ordered to conduct regular patrols through the system in my Chimaera. Traveling on the trade lane from Planet Kyushu to the NT jump gate scanners briefly detected an Outcast IFF. I immediately dropped out of the trade lane and move back towards the planet to investigate. A lone Outcast by the name of "Shady" was monitoring the trade lane traffic. The ship was a RH-GM82 Bomber that had apparently been acquired from the Red Hessians. Issuing an alert to any nearby Naval ships I ordered the bomber to leave the area immediately. The pilot seemed to be itching for a fight and refused to leave, stating that he had to make his money somewhere. Hoping to stall him until backup could arrive I continued to argue with him and attempt to persuade him to leave. He apparently wasn't too keen on that idea and several minutes later he opened fire. I immediately brought my weapons online and after an intense firefight the bomber was destroyed.
KNF Officer Kiith arrived shortly before the end of the battle and monitored the situation in case backup was required.
Shortly afterward a GC VHF appeared in high orbit around Planet Kyushu. The fighter was identified as [Kiretsu]-Hanako.Ayuka and Daii Kiith and I immediately headed out to keep the fighter away from the trade lanes. Cargo scans revealed the fighter had several civilians held captive and we began negotiating for their release.
Unfortunately, before long two additional hostile ships arrived on the scene, a gunship with the ID of [Kiretsu]-Megami and a VHF with the ID of \CS\-Interceptor.Shield
Ship scans revealed that the gunship had 40 KSP pilots held captive and our negotiations for their release resumed. Due to our forces being stretched so thin we were unable to call for any assistance and we were too far out gunned to attempt to engage the pirates. After some time a prisoner exchange was finally agreed upon and the Kusari pilots were returned to us in exchange for several GC and BD pilots we had captured.
Once the exchange was completed the criminals agreed to back off from Planet Kyushu. We followed at a safe distance to insure the safety of the traders in the area. The gunship stayed a short distance off from the trade lane until another KNF pilot joined us, Kasumi Shinazawai, at which point he promptly cruised away.
I lifted off from Planet Kyushu to begin my patrol today, barely clearing the docking rings before receive a request for escort to the Galileo system from a trader in orbit. We proceed most of the way there without incident until arriving in the Shikoku system. My system radio immediately started picking up a broken conversation between a trader and possibly a pirate (though he was claiming to only be a salesman). I hurriedly checked the trade lanes to the Galileo system and confirming they were clear of pirates I gave the trader an all clear to proceed and headed for the Kepler Jump Gate after briefly speaking with the trader who was possibly being pirated.
Arriving on the scene at the Kepler/Shikoku border I encountered a Kishiro transport being harassed by a Greg.Vederman. I intercepted Vederman and informed the trader that he could continue, at which point Vederman started trying to sell his goods to me! This included everything from Cardi to fine wine. Either he didn't care or didn't realize that I was KNF. The contraband he was hauling included Cardi, Synthetic Marijuana, and Counterfeit Software, any one of which could have carried a huge fine. But the quantities he was transporting were tiny and so I gave him the option of dropping all of the contraband and paying a single fine of 2,000,000 credits. He didn't particularly like this idea and continued to argue that he was just a simple salesman trying to make a bit of a living. The worn out Switchblade he was flying pointed to the fact that at a minimum he was a horrible salesman.
We continued to discuss what needed to happen while I tried to decide what to do with this relatively small threat. He had been drifting around the area rather aimlessly when he suddenly throttled up, switched on his guns, and opened fired. He was a skilled pilot and the engagement lasted for some time as both our fighters were slowly worn down. He apparently was aware of the same thing and suddenly cruised off a short distance away, requesting a ceasefire over the radio. Unsure if I would be able to bring down the fighter or not I chose not to take that risk and and agreed to let him go his way for now. While clearly not a large threat I have included a ship scan here and recommend that we keep an eye out for this criminal. He avoided paying a fine and dropping his cargo, avoided arrest, and fired on a KNF Samurai. He also stopped a trader however he did not seem violent at the time and seemed to be earnestly seeking only to sell a few of his products.
I headed to Plane Junyo for repairs before heading back to the Tau/Kyushu border to monitor the exports. Arriving at the border I scanned a ship, Matt_Ridcully, that had been trailing me since New Tokyo. It was a Firefly class transport and a quick scan revealed that its hold was full of military vehicles. With an Interspace IFF and Freelancer ID I ordered him to halt, which he complied with. I went over the regulations on exporting military equipment to the Tau systems. He first attempted to argue that I was out of my jurisdiction and had no right to stop him, when I explained that this was not the case, confirming it with my CO, he changed his story and claimed he was working for one of the permitted companies as a subcontractor. A quick check through our list of permitted subcontractors did not reveal his name.
Knowing that he wasn't going to be able to lie his way out of this one he quickly jumped into the JG right in front of a transport convoy that was already heading in. Unable to halt their approach I had to wait until the convoy had jumped through before I could follow. But it was too late and the trader was far into the system already. Receiving a report of an incoming system wide storm I was forced to head back to Kyushu and dock.
Several hours after the storm had passed, while monitoring the border once again, the trader jumped through and entered the first trade lane in Kyushu. I stopped the trader at Tsushima Depot and explained the various laws he had just violated. He again attempted to argue with me and seeing that he would fail at that attempted to make a run for it. I opened fire on the transport while an AFA ship in the area fired cruise disruptors as he attempted to flee. He figured out pretty quickly that this wasn't going to work and came to a halt again. I ceased fire as he turned his ship around, but before I could react he engaged his afterburners and made a beeline for the depot, docking immediately.
At about this point Chusa Hajime Hiroito aboard the [KNF-K]Sakabatou arrived on the scene and, after a lengthy discussion where he explained the consequences of failing to cooperate with the authorities now, Matt_Ridcully agreed to pay the fine and go on his way.
Begining patrol reports. I've been quite busy, and I didn't have time to report all my patrols how it should be.
But I'm glad that our new Daiis are doing such a fine work out there.
Firstly, I should report my last encounter with the QCPs. One of their gunboats was at Yokohama shipyard, waiting for a trader who docked there as soon as he saw the QCP.
When the QCP spotted us, it tried to run from me, a Hogosha showed there to assist me. We sttoped him from running, and the combat began.
Quickly, another QCP showed up, the infamous Andrew Stuart flying a bomber. The Hososha got quickly destroyed, and I ended fighting both of them alone. I was doing a good job against that Gunboat. And, the recent promoted Daii Kiith came to assist me, and a GMG ship too.
My orders to fire on the gunboat weren't heard, unfourtanely, or we'd have took it down. A Blood Dragon assisted the bretonians in that fight, and they focused on me. I got heavily damaged, and forced to retreat.
Yesterday, I heard over the emergency channel, that Sasaki Kojiro was having some problems with an independent trader, trying to break the blockade. This pilot was carrying Military Vehicles without the proper papers, and claiming a sub contract with Samura. Daii Kojiro, with help from one member of the AFA, surrounded him at Tsushima, and gave me time to arrive there.
Once there, I ordered the pilot to undock from the station, to keep a civil chat. After re-explaining him our Legal Codex (which kojiro already had done), we get to an agreement, that he'll contact the High Command to get his sub contract legitimized.
I finned him with 2 million credits for crossing to the Taus, with the promes of refund him after he got the proper papers.
I have recently acquired my bomber in the Katana Bomber Wing. It has been named the [KNF-K]Kawakaze and is now fully armed and armored and ready for combat. The bomber will typically remain stationed in New Tokyo to deal with the persistent heavy pirate threat in that system as well as Kyushu.
I took the bomber out on a training mission with several other bombers from the Kusari State Police today. We were heading for Hiroshima when we received a report of possible GC activity in Hokkaido. The KSP bomber Kyabetsu and I adjusted course to investigate the situation. Arriving in the system scanners quickly detected 3 GC ships at least one of which was a bomber. The GC craft immediately headed in our direction and we brought our weapons online preparing for battle. We didn't have much opportunity to negotiate and the GC were clearly furious that we were in the area. We managed to bring down 2 of the GC before the Kyabetsu was too heavily damaged and pulled out of the fight. I continued on against the remaining bomber but was unable to gain the upper hand and finally had to pull out, my bomber heavily damaged, and head back to New Tokyo.
Once repairs had been completed I headed to Hiroshima where the bomber combat training exercise was conducted with the Kyabetsu and another KSP bomber.
Gun and ship scans are unavailable for this report as it seems there was an error with my onboard computer.
During a regular patrol through Honshu with a stop off in Sigma-13 at the Gas Miner Naha scanners detected an Outcast vessel in the area. I was piloting my Chimaera at the time and approached the Outcast cautiously to investigate further. Turned out it was Switchblade class fighter hanging around the trade lanes a short distance from Naha. I made radio contact with the criminal and we had a brief conversation. He refused all orders to leave the area and instead chose to open fire. The engagement lasted roughly 40 minutes and had drifted towards the sun. At this point both of us had full shields and hull strength according to scans, but his fighter spontaneously exploded. I am unsure of the cause of the explosion, though it could have been due to our close proximity to the sun or some undetectable structural damage he had sustained.
After the engagement I spoke with several GMG who were in the area monitoring the trade lanes for smugglers and headed back to Naha. Shortly after resupplying my fighter I received a transmission from one of the GMG pilots informing me that their anti-smuggling activity had caught the interest of the Outcasts who had shown up in force. I launched with the intent of heading back to Honshu however the trade lane was blocked by a gunboat and I had to head to the jump hole. I was pursued by approximately 8 Outcast vessels until I made the jump to Honshu.
I dropped off my Chimaera on Planet New Tokyo and launched in my bomber on a practice run which took me through the Taus. While in Tau 29 I detected a vessel by the name of "budala". It was a mining ship but was carrying nearly 700 Gaian Wildlife. I ordered the ship to halt and not enter Kusari space with the cargo but it ignored the order and made the jump. Following close behind it I intercepted the ship at the trade lane and they finally stopped long enough for me to explain the regulations surrounding transport of Gaian Wildlife.
The captain argued that it was OK for him to transport the cargo in Kusari since he'd never been caught before... During this conversation a mercenary was in the area by the name of "GAnD", though I assumed he was not connected with the transport. This didn't seem to be a particularly unusual stop and the captain seemed to accept my explanation, then abruptly stated that the options I had given him were not acceptable and opened fire. Floating near by and not expecting the attack my shields were almost lost before I had an opportunity to react, but I was able to maneuver out of his line of fire and return fire, at which point I realized the mercenary was also attacking me. The transport was destroyed however in the process I was heavy damaged by the transport and merc, who was flying a VHF. I docked at the nearest base for repairs and resupply. I would recommend to Kusari Command that this mercenary not be permitted to operate in Kusari in the future.
Today, two Privateer Pirate Transports were spotted at Kyushu, jumping from the Tau-23 Jump Hole. I called for backup, and Shoii Ookami and another independent pilot, by the name of Itzuko, came to assist me.
We moved into Kyushu quickly to take care of them, as they have been robbing many traders the past few days. We checked on the trade lanes, and got a soft signal of them, but we lost them.
A long patrol reported them into Hokkaido system, where I went following them through the jump hole in Kyushu, sending Ookami and Itzuko to New Tokyo. The Privateers moved to Chugoku, and I ordered to do not go in there. Anticipating their next move, I went to Honshu jump hole in New Tokyo system, and sent Ookami and Itzuko to the Honshu Jump gate. My believes were right, as we found the privateers in Honshu trying to get to New Tokyo through the jump hole.
We secured the jump hole and the jump gate, we didn't find them in the clouds, but we forced them move back to Chogoku, Hokkaido, Kyushu and finally the Taus closing all their possibilities.
I followed them into the Taus, to make me sure they don't attack traders coming to Kusari.
On another note, I recibed a distress call from Tsushima station, that an outcasts group was causing troubles in the near space. I took out the Bakumatsu as I got reports of 3 gunboats leading the attack. Our Daii Kiith came to assist, as well as one Imperial Guard, Raijin.
The group was quickly found, I started the communications with them, as it's not normal to see such a group of outcasts in kusari. I tried to get any demand that they had, but sadly, they weren't there to make any demand, it was a group of madmen who seeked for blood and destruction.
In the middle of the negotiation, the imperial guard started firing on them, without my permission, and the 10 outcasts ships (counting 3 gunboats, at least 2 bombers and many fighters), answered with heavy fire.
We did all what we could, but we were very outnumbered.
We managed to take down one of the gunships, but the Bakumatsu got many bombs from the bombers and the fighters. I sent all the crew to the escape pods.
After the end of the fight, the outcasts got theirselves in a fight against the Kiretsu, who seems were not happy with their presence. The Kiretsu put an end to that problem, taking down all of them.

After a the debriefring onboard the Nagasaki our strike team moved to the agreed destination after receiving clearance from the High Command.
As usual we encountered resistance right beyond Planet Waterford en route to LD14 and engaged a patrol of Bretonia Armed Forces fighters in a fierce fight.
The results were quite uncertain until the last moments when it was evident that our team was gaining the upper hand.
The Bretonians attempted a retreat which failed, one of the remaining two fighters was reached by a fatal hit which resulted
in the explosion of his ship and one of our warriors managed to cruise disrupt the last enemy fighter.
When we regrouped, we found Lt. Ashley Taylor fighting in solo against his "stopper" Nori Tsuyoshi.
We decided to let an honourable duel take place, the Kusari way, to the death.
However, at some point the Bretonian decided to surrender and we asked an unconditional surrender looking forward
to some possible exchange of prisoners; the Bretonian accepted.
He was tractored on board our fighters and his vessel towed to the Nagasaki where he was submitted to a preliminary interrogation and then
immediately tranferred to Fuchu Prison in Shikoku, under our escort.
I have to report the loss of one of our Chimaeras, Daii Kiith was forced to eject during the battle.
He perfomed very well but the Bretonians were focusing fire on him and his structural integrity was compromised at some point.
