I started my patrol at Manhattan. After gettin' a new Patriot, I mustered up some of that rookie confidence and set out. After a normal patrol of scannin' traders and protectin' them lanes, I found the Xenos called "Stiletto" near Fort Bush (the nerve!) and waited for Lt. Smith to lead. Unfortunately, the lieutenant's ship was obliterated and I was forced to retreat to Colorado. After patrollin' some more in Colorado, I returned to New York and responded with that SWAT officer Kerry about some reports of pirates (Bobylien and Dark.Noir) at Pittsburgh. We found 'em and decided to pursue. After Kerry missed a CD shot, I sped ahead and tried to catch up to Bobylien. I managed to get a hit, but without any warning this Dark.Noir showed up and blasted my Patriot. Luckily, that ol' ejector seat worked and my pod flew to Fort Bush.
Hopefully I'll be able to earn me one of those Liberators!

It has recently hit me that LPI does NOT have a rescue and relief division yet. Around last week, the ship the Heart Of Zion was stuck near the badlands, even though we found the ship, we had to cal in the Navy for back up since the ship's engines were completely were damaged and the Liberator's we are flying aren't strong enough to tow entire transports to safety.
Furthermore, a ship by the name OSI-Chrome, its computers were apparently hacked and tampered with, and found itself in the deepest corner of the northern-most asteroid field, far from help, with an extremely damaged hull, no Nanobots/Shield Batteries available, sine they had to use them all up in order to survive.. Nearby officers weren't able to do anything since it was out of our jurisdiction, and since we wouldn't be able to tow it away anyways.
My proposal is that we create a new unit which would used primarily for emergencies like this, where ships send out distress calls. It will only be used if the ship in danger has lost its engines.
1. One or two Repair Ships should be bought for this purpose.
2. Two to three specially trained escorts so that the repair ship and the ship being towed can be escort safely.
3. They would need authorization to go into the Badlands and/or other asteroid fields by a Captain or an above rank to enter deep within those area's.
4. Anywhere else (such as near the sun), they should have the authorization to go to in order to rescue a ship.
This unit will be fairly small, since problems like these usually show up once in a while. But these rescue's are nonetheless necessary.
Today was awesome. A Navy fighter had engaged with a hacker by the name Solari and requested assitance immediately. When I got there, I could understand why, even on 2 on 1, he managed to outgun us. Luckily a Bounty Hunter gunship engaged as well and took its shields down. I managed to put in a well placed SNAC up his face.
A Legacy was at the location too, but he apparently managed to escape to Pennsylvania. The Navy went after him, I don't know what happened after that, I believe it was successful because they were waiting for us in Fort Bush. After that, we tried finding and chasing down some more Legacy/[Cartel] in California, but they managed to escape into the Cortez system.
Shortly after that, we apprehended a smuggler by the name Alexi Stukov at Manhattan and forced him to pay a fine. He refused and made a run for it, Captain Bauer and I chased him all the way to to the Colorado Jumpgate, where, in a surprising turn of events, he took the other trade lane to Fort Bush, where there were roughly 8 or 9 Freelancers waiting for him. After that, you can guess what happened.
That's all, Signing off.

Oh and sorry about the previous report about the Rescue division, didn't know we already had one.
Well, the day started out well enough, I was with officer Lindberg and the others when they took down Alexi Stukov ( I didn't actually discharge my weapons) but immediately went down hill for me, starting with a Junker who had Bounty Hunter pilots, and escaped to Magellan, then upon returning to New york, I was first faced by two VHF pilots who had civilian (passengers) hostages, and since my patriot had no where near enough firepower I was forced to pay them what they asked for (600K!) however, the money that they payed me for saving them covered almost half of it. The names of the two hostage takers were Smexyman and Barracouda. After that, a smuggler with 5000 units (!) of cardimine flew out of the lane and landed on Manhattan before I could stop him.
//Upload screen shots soon, haven't been able to get them on photo bucket yet.

Recently I have been assisting LPI officer Kerry with an annoying smuggler named Alexi_Stukov. This smuggler continually states that he does not carry anything illegal.
While on patrol last evening, I briefly caught him on my scanners, with this lovely shot of a cargo hold full of artifacts. Officer Kerry has stated that Mr. Stukov's fine list is currently in excess of 5 million credits, which he continues to refuse to pay.

Um, I just have a question. Is carrying Nuclear Devices within Liberty space legal or illegal? I just encountered a Junker carrying such a device, claiming that since his ship was very old, it needed the Nuclear Device for powering the engines and shields, even after I suggested that he could take the ship back and upgrade it at West Point, with insurance covering up the cost. I'd just like to know whether carrying Nuclear Devices is legal or illegal. Thanks you.
