I don't want to get involved with this really...but I had to say somethin'.
I was crossing Northern Sirius...going from Yanagi out to Bretonia...I decided to stop in Tau 37 and grab something to eat and rest a bit on the Freeport... and well...um... yeah...
I dunno what was going on, but the stations guns were already firing on an Outcast Gunship nearby...Vega something...The Battleship was also firing it's antimatter cannon on ice formations near the station.... the area was a hair away from being lit up with fire from both parties.... Luckly for the Zoners...the Outcasts and the HS ran off yelling about a Corsair Battleship in Alpha...I...I did not follow them...I...I dunno what happened....I just stumbled onto this stuff... Figured you lads should know 'bout it...I...I dunno what else to do...
I swear I was not involved...I just wanted to get some dinner and a room for the night...
This evidence is alarming indeed. We will forward this to the Council for further consideration. This Outcast captain's threat against the Freeport is serious. We do find the arrogance of the Highland Security ships in this situation, however, provocative to say the least.
We of the Freedom also would like to add that we absolutely do not consider it acceptable to attack anybody near a Freeport unless that individual has attacked the Freeport itself or a Zoner ship. The HS captains were wrong in assuming that all Zoners consider it permissible to intercept smugglers within the No Fire Zone.
Some Zoners might accept such behavior and endangerment of the Freeport, but we of the Freedom do not.

Good evening, gentlemen. I feel as though our actions have been slightly misrepresented here, but I thank Geordi Forbes for his report. I hadn't thought to announce this incident. In order to clarify: We never threatened to, or intended to, open fire near the Freeport. We took shelter at the Freeport upon realizing that the Outcasts had sent a Battleship, Gunship, and a few others to intercept my fighter and my associates bomber. We also were NOT intercepting smugglers within the no-fire-zone. How could we? As for our arrogance? Well, call it a little gallows humor, staring down the business end of a Battleship. Fortunately later on the affore-mentioned Battleship got what was coming.

I'm going to give you a credit's worth of free advice. I would be very careful about using "gallows humor" with the Outcasts, even if it would have been but a few fighters that you faced. The Outcasts are to be respected and don't always have a sense of humor. They may have only been wanting to check you out and nothing more.
With all due respect, Sir, in the future, do NOT antagonize Outcasts near our bases or anyone for that matter. Like I said, not everyone has that "gallows humor" of which you speak. I know I won't if such humor results in the assault of a Zoner base or Zoner vessel.

While I appreciate that, to anyone else, an Outcast battleship could just be 'checking them out', I can assure you our history of operations with the OC and with the Cassus Belli in particular demand a less than peaceful response whenever they spot us. We were not responsible for any antagonization; this is the second time I have been threatened by Outcasts while in the presence of Freeport 10, and the second time they have audibly entertained the prospect of destroying the Freeport on a whim.
In both cases, no Highland Security pilot has ever attempted to antagonize an OC within Freeport borders or endanger the safety of the station. We respect and appreciate the Zoners and their boundaries; also note that we stop over in FP10 regularly on patrols to refuel and re-arm, and would not want to see harm come to it.
Furthermore, regarding my 'arrogant' attitude towards the Belli's threats, I was attempting to defuse the situation if anything - pointing out that should the OC destroy the Freeport, there would be nowhere for smugglers to run to when we were attempting to interdict them in Tau-37.
Please feel free to contact me regarding any further clarifications of today's incident.

Chief Freeman,
I didn't say you had an attitude, I just said that the Outcasts often don't have a sense of humor, at least not one that I've been exposed to. To mention such an idea as to "blow up the Freeport" might be an invite to one who is having an otherwise bad day. IF they did launch an assault on it, I wouldn't be the only Zoner who would be quite upset.
We don't mind you stopping in at Freeport 10 for lunch, re-arm, re-fuel and the like. Just keep in mind that when you are there, Outcasts are regular visitors there for the same reason. Sorry if my words seem like I'm finger pointing as I am not. I've just had a lot on my plate of late.

No worries, Doc. To make sure Freeport 10 isn't caught up in any Outcast assault, I'll instruct our pilots to try and vacate the area if heavy hostiles such as Battleships are en route; hopefully that'll keep them from having any excuse to exercise their ever-broadening fleet on neutral targets.
