My lawfuls (not the military) are cooperative and helpful when interacting with the local law. Of course other people can act tough. I'm not sure if there's too many of those or not, I don't play a police character and I didn't notice on my BAF. Although whats happening in Leeds is often just crazy and I try to ignore that.

About that Pirate ID... As a BAF pilot, I stopped several ships with Pirate ID, usually just asking it to stop worked and then the person was questioned. Often the answer was believable and didn't pose a danger to Bretonia. Then the person was let to continue, sometimes in more questionable situations it was pointed or escorted to the borders. Only when met with opposition or aggression, I resorted to force. Admittedly, if the person looked all like a Corsair and just the ID was Pirate, I would move the hostility one notch higher - to the borders if benign, hostility if questionable.

Welcome to Disco Hawkwings. Stick around and read EVERY post ever written and you'll never EVER spend any time online in-game. I've been here long enough to see a thread started by someone and within a couple hours its 15 pages long. And by the time you post your initial response to the thread its increased by another 2 or 3 pages. So ... don't go assuming I've read EVERY post in a thread because its not physically possible in many cases. THIS thread was started 4 days ago and is going beyond 7 pages. I challenge you to read every single post in the following links:

Say something about the person above you!, You just lost the game. ... this one's 1,423 pages long with over 14,223 posts.

Kudos! ... this one's 302 pages long with over 3,011 posts.

Last letter = First letter, Played by N00bl3t ... this one's 232 pages long with over 2,312 posts.

When you get done reading EVERY post on EVERY page of these threads ... then come talk to me about your assumptions.

Because obviously those threads are directly related to this topic in this thread, and without reading the entirety of those threads, I am not qualified to comment on this thread even though I have read every single post in this thread. Don't be absurd. You note that I said a discussion, where people are expected to be knowledgeable about the subject before jumping in with their own opinions and viewpoints. 61 posts in 4 days for this thread? That's nothing. If you can't be bothered to read 60 posts in a "technical" discussion thread (this one) then perhaps you shouldn't be so quick to jump to conclusions huh? If you intend to contribute to a serious discussion thread, read all the posts before yours.

Anyways, now that I have you attention, would you kindly respond to the points I brought up? Or do I have to patronize you? Is that what you want?

I would like to hear now about what this topic is at the moment.
Right now I have the impression we are talking about lawfulls beeing a jerk to the cops.
And some people think that this is way too much around the houses.

Also a little discussion about the pirate ID lit up, but thats something I stay out of.

And a discussion is about own viewpoints and opinions, even if they leave the switched topic alone and get back to the older one.
I had my previous post on my mind when reading through, so that is exactly the point of a discussion.
To get people talking about something.

The problem is the lawfuls in the houses are overpowered.

Mind explaining exactly how they're overpowered?

So, you think the local pirates should be able to match the local lawfuls in firepower / ships deployed? In RP that just wouldn't happen. The firepower of the military should outmatch that of local unlawfuls by far.

Of course, I'm not talking fair play between players here, just RP environment. I don't advocate ganking.

Maybe the Military, but the pirates were NEVER meant to take out the Military. The Outcasts and Corsairs could go to war with the house military and hold thier own, but not individual Pirates. The Police only have one or two gunships apiece, so it's not the Police thats overpowered. In fact, I would go as far to say that the House Police are UNDERPOWERED in respect to the threats faced nowadays

I'll respond to that post, Hawkwings ... and you do not need to pander to me. But I don't think you quite understood my point. You made claim I did not read your post by the simple fact that I did not respond to it. That's what spun me up. Do not make assumptions simply because I did not immediately respond to you. There are many people I do not respond to. I don't have time to read and respond to everyone in every thread. Who knows why I didn't respond specifically to you ... maybe I was too busy in a train of thought with Hack. But don't be in my face because I didn't respond to you when I didn't realize you wanted my specific opinion. The best way to get my attention in a thread is to address me personally. Put the "@ Baltar" in front of your comment and I'll definitely respond. If not ... I'll likely read it and move along ... unless I find you've written something I'm interested in responding to.

Now ... we can go back and forth on this until our posts are deleted by the moderators ... or we can agree not to step on each others toes in the future.

And now to your post ...

' Wrote:My problem is not with the people that RP being angry at the police or whatnot. My problem is twofold:

1. People who go "lolz police corrupt" which is the extent of their RP.

2. EVERYONE antagonizes the police/lawfuls. OK, fine, I get that some people are bound to have a grudge, but really people, do you have to be all "Ima tuff guy! RAR!!" and wave your e-peen around in system chat?

Or the other common one, "I'm so dark and gritty and I speak in a gravelly voice that must have come from smoking 3 packs a day and I'm a bitter grizzled old war vet who's seen too much death in my life but I keep going cause that's my duty but I really have a soft heart and I'm just looking for someone to love and oh yeah I'm 17 and an admiral and my war medals weigh more than I do."

#1 ... totally agree ... those that just "lol" all day and call it RP are annoying. Not much you can really do about them though.

#2 ... yes ... lots of tough guys out there. I fly mostly neutral characters ... I've got 1 pirate who shows more respect to the Liberty lawfuls than most lawfuls do ... how's that for odd? My pirate avoids confrontation in house systems and chooses to tip-toe around while in Liberty and such. And in open systems like the Sigmas, Taus and such ... my pirate is quite cordial and polite ... only asking 500k and usually makes the request without having to fire even a CD.

#3 ... yeah ... I've run into my share of young admirals. What really annoys me is the Ensigns flying battleships.
