Being not every good at PvP, I thought I'd create a character who just wants to have a good chat...
This character is to fly a ‘Charon’ with no offensive capabilities, so no weapons or mines or anything.
Hopefully I can secure a neutral reputation (similar to a Zoner), so the character won’t have to fight back and kill anyone, being a pacifist, the character shouldn’t have to shoot at anyone, let alone kill anyone, NPCs included.
If I can get neutral to everything, that would be ‘super’, although this character won’t be flying into any guard systems, won’t be looting wrecks, won’t go anywhere near the nomads (considering having them know how to talk to, and imitate, nomads talk to avoid conflict with them, like a Wilde), and will steer clear of Gallia.
The problem with setting this character up is I can't get a Neutral rep enough from killing enemies, as she is a pacifist, and can't Rep fix my way through, as I'm kinda new to Neutral/Zoner repping and don't know where to start.
This character is designed to talk to people, regardless of background or play style, this character is to be 100% roleplay.
The roleplay is of a seventeen year old girl (similar to myself and my views), whose family was ruined by the Phantom bombing of Planet Cambridge. She saw so much bloodshed and chaos planet-side; she refuses to attack anyone, even to defend herself; she doesn’t believe violence is the answer in any situation.
The reasoning behind most factions finding her harmless and leaving her alone is that she has no guns on her ship and is of little threat to anyone, being so young and having a really good personality.
rep wise...I know that it will be hard to get neutral with everyone... for instance, the Xenos and the Unioners are hard to make neutral
A Junker bribe should get the rest of the unlawfuls neutral though
then you may want to go and get a couple Zoner bribes...I find Canaria to be the best place for them really
Also, I'd consider mounting a single class one Starbeam or a simmilar extremely low powered 'training laser' incase you run into a wreck you wish to loot
The more extreme groups like the rogues and hessians will still attack you, but the outcasts and the corsairs won't, and groups closely allied to them won't either (such as the hackers).
You can bribe many factions or.. Let people form each faction do a mission or two.
i would be glad to see you in game.. we sure could use more RP.
I will be in game in a day or two and will be able to help with those mission if you dont find it till than
Interesting, my Gaian lost her family to the MOX bombing. It is amazing how many lives the Phantoms touch...
Most pacifists earn their way by trading goods. A freighter would work nicely for this purpose, and I am a huge fan of the Dromedary. But who knows, maybe she earns her way selling peace stickers, flowers, and lemonade out of her Charon :)
In terms of getting everyone neutral... it isn't as hard as it seems. You can try to raise your rep with unfriendly factions by grouping with people who do missions for that faction, or just bribe unfriendly factions (can get costly). If you accidentally get a tag, use "/droprep" without quotes. I think that command costs 350,000 credits, and it will take your flashing reputation and change it to the top of neutral range.
These are very good suggestions, seems easier than I thought.
But there's no chance lil old me would ever get anything special, I'm new and at the bottom of the pile.
And as far as I can see, the Neutral ID would only grant the rules on my side and is given to Angels and Cameras...
I guess I could request a Repfix to Neutral...
Glad you guys like it so far, soon as I can get Vista (fail) to run Freelancer, I'll bump this stuff and start getting it all set up...

We won't attack you unless you're a transport. Or if you attack us. Or if you have a bounty. And considering the OPs description, doesn't sound like her character would fall under any of those three categories. Very few pirates would attack a Zoner just because they can.
As for the Vista thing, here's DBoy's Tutorial: http://discoverygc.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=9310
Follow all the steps to the letter and you should have Freelancer working on Vista. But do as Weedalot says and swap to XP or Windows 7 if you can. I'm on Windows 7 and it runs Freelancer perfectly.

Sorry, I didn't make it clear, the NPC's will attack you. Sorry about that.
