But nether are some of the player factions
Still, the average level of RP of player factions is definitively higher than the average level of RP coming from indies. Its especially the case for Lawfuls and Pirates.
Because a lot of Indies don't have good RP, hanging around New York you see it a lot.
In the darkening lights of Sirius space even the dead need a voice, even the dead need respect. And more importantly, the dead need to be taken home: Undertaker, Steward of the ++Tombship++

Indies are not a problem. We should not even call them indies. Know why? Because they are called 'players'. Not everyone can be signed into a faction. For many reasons that can not be listed. Segregating them or calling them a problem is pretty cruel and incorrect. They are just the regular players who contribute in their own way.
So you basically want to get rid of our players?

The way I see it, the indie problem is actually quite simple:
The problem with indies is that they fly alone and don't learn much or anything about the RP of the server because there is no one there to teach them it, unless they get lucky and stumble across a knowledgeable player who isn't busy and is willing to teach them. (And the Angels can't help everyone)
In addition, since many come from other environments and servers do not have a server that operates like this one they may even be intimidated by said environment, encouraging them to join up with similar people which simply makes the matter worse.
The way I see it, the most logical answer to this is to have new pilots make their first character a part of a faction where they can be educated by the veterans on the RP, what is acceptable and what not, just to get their feet on the ground.
This is of course, assuming that the trouble makers are simply ignorant players that are relatively new and not simply trolls.
I have to say though, I hate LOLWUT cap indies,
The other night I went smuggling into penn. I watched 3 complete indies helping out a few noobies. They took them trading and helped outfit their ships properly. I was very pleased to see this.:)

you can't put all indies in the same basket. and there's certainly no "indie problem".
if you have a problem, you have a problem with a certain indie player.
Man it's like some liberty lawful pissed you off, and you're making a post
"man, all you lawful people" and then people say "stop generalizing" and whatnot.
You want to make number of independent players smaller? Make sure those faction recruitment threads look interesting.
Of course, many indies don't even have accounts on the forum, and have not even heard of it. And if you tell them they go "Man I just wanna play the game and stuff stop bothering me about this RP crap."
