Altair never realy felt like home to me. It's a cold, soulless place. Too many experiments, too much pain. Though, I suppose it's necessary. The war and all.
I only recently returned to the station after finishing one of their assignments together with Tyrian. Certain parties robbed the masters of some of their... Belongings. We were assigned to retreive them. After almost two weeks we found our target. (With quite some thanks to Tyrian's artifacts, I might add.) At least, we thought.
We found a warship. A Reaper warship. It's captain or... whatever. Archon or something, spoke to us. Long story short, he's got a proposition for the Masters. He also gave us back the...lost belongings. How they got it? Apperantly, they broke alliances and shattered skulls for it. So I'm good with that. I'm supposed to pass it on to them, or, well, to the Mistress. She'll pass it on to the Masters. (Why? Tyrian chickened out, heh.)
Whenever I was supposed to meet her, I would go to this dark, cold, empty room in Altair, close to the research labs. There were a few windows through which the dim light of one of Iota's stars shone. Just enough to show the shape of the room, but not enough to illuminate it fully.
So, yeah. There I stood. Alone, in a dark room meeting with..Well, her. She was the most common of the 'two worlded children' or 'Hybrids', as most here reffered to them. There weren't many. Around.. six or.. seven, Julie told me once. Only the most zealous an-, oh, heh, wandering off again.
Right. So I met with her. I stood there, all alone in the room, though it felt as if thousands of eyes watched me from within the walls. And then... Whispers. Quiet ones with small echos.
'You finished the assignment...'
'Ss-s-sort of, M-m-mmistress..'
'Fear knows many tones and voices..'
'App-pologies..Mistress.' I replied. She didn't like us (Us being the agents) fearing her. Atleast, one side of her didn't.
'Yes Mistress, we got the goods back.'
'Excellent....But, this is not all...'
'Correct, Mistress. The Reaper, brother of the Reaper Archon, their leader figure had a proposition for us.'
'Proposition....'
I explained the situation to her. About the Liquid Cardamine, the planet, everything. I also told her what they would get if they decided to go through with this. There was a short silence afterwards, a few moments. I think she... consulted with the other masters. After a while, the silence was interupted.
'We shall meet this... Archon.'
'Very well mistress, I shall arrange it.
I stepped out of the room and into the hallway. That wasn't so awefull. All that remained now was to inform the Reaper.
Lohingren sits in his chambers waiting, waiting for something spectacular to happen. It had been 2 days since Raemus achieved "1st contact" if you could even call it that... Yet. It was mid afternoon when it all began.
Puertollano sends a emergency call to Seguro Refugio
"This is Puertollano Observation post calling the Archon, please respond sir"
"What is it?"
"We are detecting some strange readings in the area Archon.... i think we should be expecting company sir!"
Lohingren mutters to himself "So they arrived afterall."
"Fear not, stop the alarms.... I was expecting this."
"Sir! All hands stand down!"
Not long after the panic a strange ship uncloaks, Lohingren's eyes open wide..... HAHAHAHAHA! Such beauty.... Things are going to get interesting.
"You wish to speak with us?"
Lohingren bows
"It is a pleasure to finally meet with you 'spirits' .... Or should i really call you that? I find it hard to believe you are mere 'ghosts. Ok, enough pleasantries from me, there is more important business at hand. Please, follow me. We have much to discuss"
To the three, the halls of this place were cold, lifeless. A shell of nothingness. Metal and rock, it all ment nothing. They walked past doors and halls, past scared and amazed Reapers. It was hard not to be in awe or completely terrified. Three Hybrids. One Male, and two women accompanied by atleast five well-armed men wearing the Rheinland Military uniform.
They approached one of the most central corridors. A man and a woman stood there guarding a door. Apperantly to the Archon's quarters. He signaled them to stand down and opened the door. 'Leave us.' the Archon ordered his troops. They left only to be replaced by two of the men accompanying the Hybrids. They never liked disturbances.
The door closed and the Archon took his seat. 'Please..Be-' Before he could even finish half his sentance, he was interupted by one of the female Hybrids. Blonde, of avarage hight. 'You wish to speak with us. Speak'. 'Straight to bus-' 'Speak.' They seemed to be quite uncomfortable onboard this station. Hasty.
'Very well. Recently, several of your...agents reclaimed something that belonged to you. We had a nice little talk, as I'm sure you're well aware'. The Archon looked at the three hoping for a responce. He got non. 'Right, so. We spoke of- ' The other female interupted him. Wearing a white robe with blue decorations and eyes of the purest white. 'We know of what you speak'. 'Very well.' he replied with a sigh. 'When do you think you can deliver the...'
Lohingren heard three voices inside his mind, speaking in communion. He was unsure what to think of their proposal.
'Very well...I shall..Acompany you'. He said after a while. Almost with shocks in his movement, he stood up. The male hybrid walked out of the door first followed by the archon and lastly the two others. They met up with the Idle Rheinland Marines and walked back the way they came. Past the cold and lifeless halls made out of rock and metal, past Reapers who had gotten even more confused now. Seeing their leader with... Them worried some and encouraged others.
After a while, they entered the shuttle bay. In it stood four Valkyries and a Behemoth. The troops and Male Hybrid entered the Valkyries, and the remainder along with the Archon stepped into the Behemoth. They took off. On their way to that dark ship. The liner of myth and reality. After what seemed an eternity, they docked.
Half a day later
Omicron Iota, as it was called by the Humans. A place of beauty and peace to those of their kind. A place of hell and death to the others. The Liner orbited something that resembled a floating city inside one of the Nineve Nebula's. The Archon couldn't keep his eyes of it. So beautiful, so tranquil. One would be able to live here forever and be at peace.
The door opened. Another man stood there, armed. This time it was one wearing the Liberty Navy uniform. 'Archon, your presence is requested at the docking bay. Please follow me'.
Lohingren is sitting in the room he was appointed on the Behemoth, The room door slides open to reveal a man dressed in Libertonian colors.
"Archon, your presence is requested at the docking bay."
Lohingren bows slightly and extends his arm.
"Lead on my friend."
Lohingren follows the man through a few corridors, they enter the Docking bay where the Three stood waiting.
Lohingren smiles and says.
"It is nice to see you again."
Again, Lohingren waits for a reply. But with no reply, he lets off a deep sigh and asks.
"You wished to see me"
"We are leaving, we will carry on by fighter."
The man said
Lohingren hops into the passenger seat of one of the fighter craft, and the Docking bay shields are opened to reveal a large Circular structure, it was immense. It was similar to a Jumpgate.... but it wasn't quite the same, no joints or welds.... Looked more like a idol than a technological marvel... Like magic
The base itself was surrounded by a large shield, it looked powerful.... Human tech shields only show its true shape after taking a hit, Once we up the power of the shield to the level we can see it at all times, our generators burst.... How did they gain such marvelous technology, Lohingren pondered.
The fighter craft slowly flew toward the giant idol like structure, and in a instant.... we where inside. Lohingren was shocked.... Instant Transmission between two points .... So well coordinated. Their technology far exceeds Human Technology. Lohingren was excited to see exactly what it looks like inside.
The sun visor on the ships cockpit was released and the cockpit opened slowly to reveal a large room, very much like a human structure in ways... but with a few differences, the Alloy was unknown to him, And it had biological matter in certain areas, Like a parasite or tumor.
The two begin to walk through some very strange surroundings, Walls coated with blue organic matter, and rocks, with strange alloy piercing the walls. Lohingren never imagined it would be like this inside the 'Alien' structures, They truly looked spectacular from the outside... but this was just amazing.
They carried on down through a area filled with canisters filled with strange liquids, Lohingren did not have a clue, maybe some kind of nutrients, or fuel...... The place was so organic, for all he knew it may even be blood.
Lohingren Sniggers
"I was just wondering friend, you seem to know this place well.... What is it truly like to be in a place like this regularly? It is truly a spectacular sight. I have seen many things, but this is brilliant."
The man Ignores him again
There where very few windows inside the Structure, but the ones that where inside revealed a completely different surrounding, Alien ships, Bright blue walls, Ships. There seemed to be no gravity or air in this part of the station. shards of rock and metal where floating freely amongst the large interior.
Lohingren was in awe, he did not realize they where walking for 20 minutes. The 'escort' finally stopped infront of a strange room.
It looked normal at 1st but then it suddenly shook, the walls began to disappear revealing stars, smoke, planets.... it was like he was standing in space itself, It was showing the surrounding area at 1st then started to scroll through different sectors, Omicron Alpha, Omicron 81, Gamma, Omega 50.... Lohingren recognized all of these places.
It was then a sharp pain hit his head, he collapses to the floor holding it, slowly going into the fetal position. This carried on for a few more minutes, he heard voices saying to "Relax". The feeling was like information was being ripped straight from his brain... He was not entirely wrong.
The pain suddenly stopped, The room had turned mostly back to normal.... All that was left was a image of Planet Soledad
He let off a great sigh
"These Aliens truly are amazing....They know what i want, without even speaking a word."
'We know of you, you know of us. ' she began. Apperantly she had discarded the hastly manner in which they spoke on the Reaper station. 'Take these' she said as she moved her hand foward and several large canisters appeared. 'Take these. And...Luck.'
She looked the guards in the eyes and they immediatly signaled the Archon to follow them. The canisters came after him too. As if they moved themselves.
After a while, they took off from the city. Left the impenetrable shield and through the gate, back to the liner. He knew he'd never see that magnificent place again.
Lohingren sat in his designated room, watching the magnificent base slowly fade into the spectacular gas cloud, As he got further and further away he could not help but feel, this would be his 1st and only chance to see such a sight again.
But he did not let this get him down, The final pieces of this chess game where about to be played.
Lohingren laughs to himself, he could not contain the happiness that he felt at this moment in time. He not only managed to get his men into the Outcasts and gain their support... He also managed to gain contact with a 'silent' race.
He had the place to carry out his plan, And now ..... The materials.
