Oddly enough, I don't have the time to find the screenshot, it was a interesting weapon, using one of the engine effects, resized to look like a blade of sorts: It had a range of 80-100m and had a quite the high damage, yet was limited to the hardpoint arcs on said ship.
While I dig up that screenshot, i would like your opinion on this. A high power antimatter "blade" for close combat: Imagine a fighter flying past a gunboat, leaving a deep, molten scar in the ship's armour plating...
It would be overpowered as hell, but I don't care. Anything that is an alternative to the chase-the-tiny-bullseye-in-a-three-dimensional-target-range-while-spinning-in-a-washing-machine-while-the-other-player-warps-around-because-of-lag mechanic.
How about some fighter-mountable close combat guns as well? Short-range weapon systems that work on a buckshot principle, for kids who can't aim good but want to do other things good as well.
