Just to get this back on track - seeing the anim with the hitboxes, I understand that is one of the major peeves with the Mako.
I've just found my old docs from the Boston supermod days regarding shipsmodelling, and am going to take some time this weekend to try and tweak the Mako hitbox.
If any of the modellers involved in the Discovery 4.85 modelling of the Mako could please contact me, either by PM or in this thread, regarding the problems they've had that resulted in the current non-optimal Mako hitbox, I would appreciate it. No reason to re-invent the wheel et all...

BH cap ships are a joke, they are far too weak compared to other caps. The difference between a Corsair dred and a BH bs is too much, with equal pilots there's no way a BH bs would win.
It is irrelevant for me but in my opinion this is not fair
Edit: BS hitbox? Wait wait wait is there someone who can actually MISS a BS?
' Wrote:just now, I was witness to the BHG caps shortcomings once more. 4 Makos , a Bullhead and a Thresher were obliterated (there is no other word for it) by 2 ossies and a Reseph. not 1 Order ship went down. the Makos had pretty powerfull cap armor upgrades, varying from 6 to 8. now, even the most keyboard challenged ape should have been able to a least kill a single Osiris with that force, despite the fire they took? nope. they went down with a grand totall of zero kills. 1 Ossie was at pixel health.
ok,I was one of the Osirises,we took 4 Makos with 2 Osirises and 1 cruiser, well wasn't in same time but, e killed them all,and I even didn't spended all nanobots,so yes there is a problem with Mako hitbox,I saw when firing one on Mako, that turret shots hit in empty, but still taking damage to Mako hull.
Allthough they didn't used any strategy, they attacked different targets so they lost group power, while me and other Osiris concentrated fire on same target,as we had much weaker armor upgrades.
So main problem is Mako hitbox,it's messed up.

At first heavy dreadnought vs light bs....
At second, how much you will bet that i can kill you in mako against your corsair dread?...

Osiris is as about as easy to hit as a Fighter if it's piloted by a decent player, unless you get too close, in which case it'll tear you a new one.(For Mako and smaller ships.)
Mako on the other hand is currently extremely easy to hit with it's bugged hitbox.
I am just making some comparisions between Ossie and Mako hitboxs - It is VERY clear that the Mako hitbox is seriously FUBAR'ed.
I'll post some pictures as proof as soon as I get them uploaded. I fully understand why BH Mako owners are complaining, and I think if the Hitbox gets fixed ASAP, the Mako will be able to operate within the intended balancing without any stats changes.

As they say, a picture tells more than thousand words - With that in mind I'm going to save four thousand words :
Ossie/Mako front view :
Not so FUBAR'ed you'd think.. But when you then look at the top, side, and diagonal views, you really see the problem :
Ossie/Mako Topdown view :
Nice and tight on the Ossie - meaning you really have to aim - Not so much on the Mako, where near misses will be registered as hits.
Ossie/Mako sideways view :
Same as above - And you clearly see the FUBAR'ness of the Mako hitbox here.
Ossie/Mako diagonal view :
In a diagoanl stance you really see the difference - You have to hit the Ossie or it will be a miss - For the Mako you just can spray and pray, and the shot will register as a hit.
Only suicidal BH's should fly the Mako with the currrent hitbox IMHO.

Anyone who wants to say light battleships are weaker than heavy battleships can bring a Rhienland Battleship against me in the San Fran, we shall see who survives.
Whether they need a buff or not, skill is what is required.
' Wrote:rofl , thats the hitbox for the Mako ? ITS A FRICKING CUBE!
Yep - Someone jumped over the fence where it was lowest, instead of taking the time to make a proper hitbox with enough nodes and vertices. Ofcourse the Osiris being an original model had a proper hitbox from the hands of Digital Anvil.
I'll see what I can do this weekend, as I won't have time before, to get back up to FL modelling scratch - after all it's been about 5 years.
And the question remains - Will a fix be pushed out by Igiss and the server, or will it have tto wait untill a 4.86 release ?
