And yeah I agree, the Nova Cat was by far one of my favorite mechs. It the medium range I love the Uziel. I just love PPG's in general. Although I love gauss as well.
Nova Cat and Thor are the same weight, if they both make into 5, we'll have to duke it out sometime. I never really had a fave medium mech, heavies were always my preferred weight class.
Puma was the other one I liked, interesting shape to it. Still, I almost always used a shadowcat in multiplayer brawls, unless everyone decided to go with pure heavy mechs... then I'd go in a Nova Cat loaded up with ER lasers or PPC's.
Heh, I loved my Daishi and Atlas. Pretty much any Assault Mech was my favorite. Pack a bunch of autocannons on one, maybe an RAC or two if possible, and start sluggin'. Loved doing that, especially with a Fafnir and it's huge ballistic weapon slots. Can you say 8 LBX-20s?
Characters Alan Markson: The Hellfire Legion's Lord Commander The Perihelion: Freeport Four's guardian, and yet much more. Missing and assumed Lost with all hands. Eric Dresmund: Junker, smuggler, thief. Last seen drunk on Beaumont Vayrn Wyard: IMG Recon pilot turned Neo-Terran Captain. Last location unknown
Can you say a Puma with a LBX-20 and a large laser?......very interesting in the arenas......and yes,I've played Mech everything from the beginning back when it was called Battlemech, and it was all done with paper, pencils and dice......
I remember my first game of tabletop. My 20 tonner unloaded it's twin machineguns into something big and heavy at point blank range. Big and heavy then went boom.
' Wrote:Anyone else still have this game? I know I had mechwarrior 4 at one point in time but I have no idea what happened to the CD.
' Wrote:4 was pretty good after you got used to the whole specific weapon type slots thing, which caused some initial outrage. I prefered MW4 Mercs, but then I've always been a fan of MW mercenary companies. I've never actually finished 3, 2 and 4 have had multiple playings.
Didn't they open-source MW4? I was always partial to the Daishi myself. I dunno why. (Never did kit it like it was supposed to be. I usually went pure.)
Other than that, the Atlas is fun, 4 LBX-20s and I'm happy.
Zealot Wrote:Just go play the game and have fun dammit.
