There's a TBH event at the same time and I haven't been on that char in ages.
Sorry Order| and =LSF=. I'm going to be on my TBH char.
Carlos Rivera: Corsair Brotherhood Pirate - Retired, shifted to Tripoli Shipyard's Research and Development engineering teams Anthony Cameron: Guild Core Bounty Hunter - Killed in Action, committed suicide after being trapped in Omicron Minor following its destruction Juan Ruiz: Outcast Ghost of Razgriz Pirate - Killed in Action, killed by the Sirius Coalition Revolutionary Army during Bretonian piracy raid Michael Winchester: Liberty Security Force Agent - Missing in Action, likely killed during Rheinland espionage mission or trapped in Rheinland Space Eric McCormick: Order Pilot - Retired, shifted to planetside training of new recruits
Well, in case you're wondering, I was the compatriot of the CSF that you vaporized about half an hour ago. The thing is... The experience was lacking in enjoyment. Our first visit, we got a system-wide OOC message saying "SSH! I'm not here, the event hasn't started". After about 20-30 minutes (P.S. Slot saving, could ya at least log off 20K beneath the plane?), we moseyed on back to the spot to try and talk to you again.
Once more, we were met with an OOC message. Following my tirade going something along the lines of, "Oh dear, I think he's spent too much time in the House, eh? The Liberty Lolls have sunk their teeth into another victim. I hear that everything they say is turned to static, no chance to call for help if they catch it in space," I was met with "Powering up weapons".
Alright, no biggie. Makes sense. Super-secret Order recon cruiser doesn't want to be found. But as I am to understand it, your weapons were down, no? A much better response to the situation would have been to tell us a joke! That's all we were asking for, but instead you (from what I understand) defied your own set RP and vaporized Freddy. In addition, you said everything, including the OOC messages, system wide. Giving eager children what they want is a much more effective means of getting them to bugger off than killing them.
So, a number of suggestions.
1. RP, please. Even if the event hasn't started yet, do what we're all here to do instead of saying, "// The event hasn't started, please leave". You're not the only one here to have fun, and as a result we quietly muttered to one another things to the effect of, "Is this guy serious?" All we wanted was a joke. Asking us why the chicken crossed the road is better than slashing the system chat to bits.
2. Stick with your RP, please. As I understand it, your weapons and shields (no blame, can't be fixed) were down because it was all redirected to the engines? So then, why, pray-tell, were you both traveling at us and firing wildly while we asked for a chuckle?
3. Please don't destroy people who are trying to RP. i.e. Type
4. Please use local chat if being spoken to in local chat. If nothing else, it makes the system as a whole less confused. /l *Message*, in case you don't know.
I suppose that's all. Just some pointers... It was a rather degrading experience for Freddy and I, and we just thought that perhaps instead of getting angry/annoyed, you might benefit from our discontent in the form of feedback.
P.S. Thanks to the Order| chaps who told the Cruiser to stop saying, "Go away, meanie!" while simultaneously filling the vacuum around me with cruiser fire, even if you chided me in RP as I fled.
I'll add a little bit to what Magoo! said, rather than just echoing him:
Once you have a ship in space, and it's over level 30, it is, as far as I'm concerned, always in RP unless it has just been destroyed and is leaving the system. My own reaction, had I been in that cruiser and seen a pair of freighters bumbling along, would have been to try to hush them up as much as possible. Not to dismiss them OOCly as not being part of the event - they are part of a consistent, real-time Sirius. So is that cruiser of yours.
Also, yep, the reason Johnny and Frederick had sat behind that great big rock was to hide from weapons fire. You appeared to cruise towards it... I slunk around, and into the hole in it, and had started to type again. Unfortunately I'd not stopped completely, drifted out, and got vaped.
