The main problem here is that it seems that jumpdrives were never intended to be trade tech. Thus its use only on battleships.
Currently, only Zoners are the actual right choice for jump trading, because of their relative neutrality and caps. However, in order to actually get some good money for it, you have to build good enough ties with factions to let you use their stuff.
If drives will depend on the distance traveled, people will have to resort to much more detailed faction diplomacy, when jumping, because of the fact that you will pass through many different systems and avoid A-B jumps.
That said, apart from the Delta-Languedoc jump, plotting routes is a mathematic, theoretical and diplomatic nightmare right now. I can see how rebalancing can make it worse..
But still, back to topic.

Complete and utter bull. Spazzy, you should know by now not to buy into some of the crap you hear on skype. The only Zoner group that OSI ever had any intention of FR5ing was the ORI and its reincarnations. We aren't going to make a fuss over a Zoner cap hiring himself out for jumping.
One thing I pride myself on is the freedom we give the Zoner indies. We never meddle in their business unless it comes back to bite us in the ass. And it does quite often, but we still do it. Hell, I argued with Vito three days straight during the last Corsair/Zoner drama so he would leave indies alone. If they hadn't I would have made sure OSI was getting shot as well. Letting indies administer the Freeports? That was an idea that originated from OSI.
Also, if any OSI did harass a player I invite that person to contact me directly. My PM inbox is always open and my skype is in my profile. If I have missed anything that was discussed after the first post I'll comment after I've got a little caffeine and nicotine in my system.

yes they should only go a couple of systems. It's ridiculous that they are more powerful than jump gates and holes. The last time they tried this tech *in lore* they blew up half of Texas.

A Stork alone costs 190m, then CAU6 is another 190, then you will spend some more for decent parts like cap thruster and scanner and so forth. I budget 500m to build a stork to my liking, including the seed money it needs. Just sayin... they cost as much as cruisers.

OH HELL YEAH!!!!! :yahoo:
No, not in the slightest. Vanilla zoners were some of the poorest people in Sirius.
