Subject: Pirate Vessel Shadow[lite]
Received word this evening from Celine Squadron Leader LoTeK_ of an untagged pirate vessel breaking the Honshu/Akita trade lane, and harrassing traders, most notably a well-known friendly face in Honshu, the vessel OsoRojo~Trading/Co.
As Senior Officer on Watch, Captain Svaldi of the destroyer deLuna intercepted and identified the pirate as a Hawk bearing Freelancer ID. (lvl 37). Shadow[lite]'s pilot was informed of Kusari's zero-tolerance policy regarding piracy, but he continued to harrass traders.
With the help of Trader Oso-san, a cunning trap was developed for the pirate. He was allowed to demand and receive money from the Trader, which immediately made him a legitimate target (lvl 42). Upon next sighting, the deLuna warned the vessel once again, emphasizing the warning with brief turret fire. The brave but foolhardy pirate returned fire, and was severely damaged by the deLuna's missile batteries. (1X).
However, the Shadow[lite] repaired and persisted, returning to the same area of previous harrasments. Comms problems (game crash) had grounded the deLuna, so the Chijin took up patrol along the route. Visual sighting was swift, and Chijin engaged the Hawk fighter. Chijin reports the pilot flew well, and dropped his shields several times during the dogfight, inflicting minor hull and structural damage as well. But Chijin prevailed in crippling the fighter badly (X2), and rescued several captured pilots as well.
While completing paperwork on incident at Honshu, sensors detected the Shadow[lite] once again. This time, Chijin-san followed Oso-san at cruise parallel to the tradelane towards Akita at a distance of 2Km behind. The pirate was soon evident ahead of our Trader friend, who politely killed engines and offerred himself as target while Chijin closed. Another brief battle ensued, until the pirate engaged cruise, and headed towards the Honshu/Yukawa lane.
Chijin pursued but the Shadow entered lane and escaped towards Yukawa Shipyard. Suspecting that the Shadow would return through lane, Chijin stationed where he could use emergency disabling of a trade ring to stop the pirate. This proved unnecessary, as the pirate approached at cruise directly towards Chijin, headed again for Honshu. Chijin dropped the pirate's shield as he passed, and was able to pursue closely enough to render the final blow to the fighter (X3).
There is suspicion from later comms chatter that pilot of the Shadow[lite] was picked up by a passing Stone Sister, who gladly took him home to Ainu Base. Expect to see this brave but foolhardy pilot again, Warriors.
Hai!
Chijin-san
*( ooc: This rather new and brash lad did return after three deaths, but was very receptive to an explanation of the rules, and was aware that he would now need proper ID.. thanks to Oso.. heh. He also promised to glow ruby in my HUD next time we met.
Actually, I recommended Ainu as a home for him.
Though he can be annoying, perhaps he is just what our pilots need as a next-door neighbor/gadfly.
Cheers, Shadow. Well fought. I'll keep you to those promises! Mal.)*

Hai!
Wish to report small incident.
While trading in fine diamonds, stuffy VIP's and smelly prisoners this day I was engaged by fighter of Kusari make as I entered Honshu from Toke. Fighter "Ryoshi Takaga" was engaged with navy pilots as I made way to Yukawa lane, but showed interest in my vessel.
Leaving Yukawa lane, I pulled to side at shipyard and waited, prepared to dock with Honshu lane. Indeed, Tekaga-san's interest was genuine, and he engaged me again as he left lane. Humble Fool dissuaded assailant with fine pearls from billy goats and sound GMG photons. Rascal then decided to tarry at Yukawa as I continued on to deliver stuffed shirts to Planet Honshu.
No comms were passed during incident, nor any persperation emitted. Bless the Funny Goddess.
Be watchful of vessel Ryoshi Takaga, warriors. No visuals on ID or tag this day. Was having too much fun.

Contact report: Blood Dragon Raid in Honshu
Target: Ryoshi Takaga
Engagement time 1100 EST aprox.
Author: Junior Pilot Seiji Nebotuda
On warning from Interspace transport [KNF]Lotek, intercepted and engaged a Blood Dragon fighter at Akita border station. Arrived at CZ shortly after [KNF]~misfit~ who was sustaining heavy damage from the assailant. Minutes after joining the engagement Misfit's fighter succumed to hull stress and decompressed from torpedo fire. SAR was notified-recovery was successful. The battle was drawn out by radiation activity in system, two other imperial fighters joined the fight some time later. Our superior numbers eventually drove off the radical pilot who ditched his fighter in a gravity well on the far side of the system.
Last comms intercept was decoded, the Blood Dragon mentioned something about his brethren, static covered the rest.
No other contacts reported, repairs and rearming completed. Station keeping in Honshu until further orders rcvd.

Comm ID: Destroyer Shikikan
Subject: Tau 31 Recon Patrol
Hai,
This day the Shikikan entered Tau 31 for Reconnaisance of enemy strength near Station Holman and Planet Harris.
The crew of Shikikan paid respects to our fallen Brothers in the devious minefields near Harris. They also worked valiantly to recover any remains, and weapons from the Imperial Fighters. They prevailed.
We were engaged by Planetform fighter wings, as well as Bretonian Templars who apparently do not know the destructive power of their own mines.
During close observation of Planet Harris, the following Destroyers and their escorts were engaged and destroyed: HMS Ingleborough, Gibraltar, Lochay, and Carmel.
Captain of Shikikan did learn this day that Bretonian Templars in sufficient number can threaten even Destroyer shields. They fly poorly, but have lethal sting.
Documentation of engagements and prisoners recovered attached:

Was engaged this day without warning, communication, or honor, and heavily damaged (X2) by vessel "Sharky" in Honshu space.
Vessel is a Raven Claw, and is supected of carrying either torp mounted weaponry or heavy shield busters, as my shields were dropped instantly in both encounters.
Be on high lookout for this miscreant. He has powerful weaponry, but absolutely no sense of honor to accompany his toys. Suggest that his removal would perhaps be a fitting task for the {FGS}, who can search and destroy him outside Kusari space as well. This would fulfill part of their reparations to the KNF.
As "Sharky" refused to communicate with Chijin, I did not do him the honor of a 3rd engagement.
Chijin is in Hiroshima affecting repairs and re-arm.

Near 05.30 AM GMT+1 long range scanners detected Centuri-C3I flyng in Hokkaido System.
[KNF]-LoTeK_- and [KNF]~Chijin~ immediately launched from Hiroshima and set a course for Hokkaido to find out his intentions.
Once there, they detected Centuri-C3I jumping to Tohoku and followed in, patrolling the jump hole.
Some minutes after he were spotted on scanners and made his way to Hokkaido again dodging knf patrol with cruise engines, but knf patrol managed to get a scan of his cargo.
He was flying with Pirate ID flashing Police (how a pirate may be allied with a police house this is still to be cleared) and carring Alien organism, Nomads survivors and a superior nomad brain.
Centuri-C3I did not respond to KNF patrol order to stop immediately and docked with Gate contruction in Hokkaido.
When he came out of the station he was obiviously clear but he was engaged in fight by knf patrol anyway due to his ID. He wasn't a match for so well trained and honorable knf pilots who together managed to lower his shields and cripple his ship with a torpedo direct hit launched by LoTeK_.(X1)
Any survivors and equipment were trasported onboard and immediately taken into custody for further investigation.

"Oh come on, slow and steady doesn't win any races, fast and steady does."
I came on-duty today to find the wanted Xeno gunboat Prospector orbiting planet New Tokyo. I intercepted it in my Chimaera with initial assistance from fighter pilot Misfit in his and called for backup to which the destroyer Shikakan responded. With the bulk of KNF forces deployed elsewhere, Misfit-san called for further backup from SA headquarters which dispatched a fighter, plotted by Dekker-san. Unfortunately Misfit was forced to withdraw, reasons classified. Meanwhile an alien heavy cruiser (the design unknown to me but commanded by Vaporlinx) offered assistance and I decided chasing the enemy ship away from the densely populated planet was priority. We would work out who was aligned with whom and what they were doing in Kusari space after. Combined with the Shikakan we four engaged the Prospector. Regretfully instrument failure lead me to fly between the Shikakan's flack turrets and the Prospector which resulted in loss of my vessel. Credit to rescue teams for evacuating my escape pod in the middle of a fire-fight. A little dazed I returned to battle in a new Chimaera.
The Prospector was by now severely damaged and, systems failing, it fled the area on Cruise. I tried to use a trade lane to head it off and other ships were in pursuit on Cruise, however it disapeared from our sensors.
Shortly the Xeno ship returned. At that time we received somewhat flamboyant open comm signals from corsair gunboat Lopez indicating he was going support the Xeno ship in combat. Further support was requested from the Southern Alliance and they dispatched the Thor's Hammer.
To my shame I allowed myself to be distracted by comm traffic: order requests; clarification requests; distress calls; target positions requests; and unexpectedly receiving a long distance priority message of a confrontational nature from the leader of the F.E.A.R. group. In the confusion I allowed the Corsair vessel to take a clear shot at my fighter with it's starboard batteries and I found myself drifting in an escape pod again. Luckily I was very close to Roppongi station and quickly rescued. I believe the Shikakan was badly damaged at that point and all hands were forced to abandon ship. I have little recollection of what happened next but by the time my escape capsule had been recovered the battle was over, the Coursair and Xeno ships nowhere to be seen.
My thanks to the captain of the Thor's Hammer whose long journey from Liberty space was for nothing. Kussari high command is appreciative of the support from the Southern Alliance and hope we may return the honour one day.
I do not intend to be so ill prepared again. The strength of the enemy was underestimated and the direction of the attack unforeseen. The conflict with Bretonia has weakened our planetary defences. I am taking steps to ensure Kusari security.
