Ahoy, Houston,
I see you found your way here. I did enjoy our chat earlier today. As for membership with [TAZ], I'd love to have you on board.....and your wife as well. We could use a few more ladies in our ranks, that and Mrs. Holliday, who does have her own ship, would love someone to shop with.
Do me a quick favor, go here: Recruitment and put up your information. Have the wife do the same. Once it's there, I'll roster you. And when you get the chance, read this: Baffin Penterbarf. It's required information for TAZ to know.
Once you're all entered there, I'll roster you both. Oh, and um, never mind the old "test" that is there.

Subject: The goddess spoke and I bare witness
Hello all, During a discussion today to a non-believer he stated there was no such thing as the Goddess and this is the aftermath as recorded by The Southern Dreams recorders.
Our sensors indicated he was no where in the New York system for a short time then reappeared. I believe he will search for more answers. What do you guys think is this ireffutable proof of The Goddess Eris and show it to the masses? I leave this evidence to the elders to decide.
I'm parked on Shasta, minding my own business, when I get a transmission from an Outcast called Maria Garcia. She claims to have information for me, regarding my long-lost sister, Maria. Coincidence? I think <strike>so</strike> not.
Annette out.

Dear Doc and the rest of the TAZ,
the Zoners Consortium, having recently purchased O-74 from the powers that be, is considering regulating the sales of Juggernauts on Livadia.
We're thinking about starting a registration chart and an application for anybody who wants to purchase a Juggernaut in the future. Coupled with that, we are wondering if TAZ would like to do the same to Aquilons sold on Baffin.
Now, before anybody cries "restriction of freedom!" you have to think about it: these puppies are deadly, deadly, deadlly massive ships. It is a heavy security risk for just anybody to go buy some Battleship and fly it about. By creating a registration/application form for all Aquilons and Juggernauts, we may be preventing a lot of grief for Zoners everywhere.
Here is a sample of the current application ZTC has in mind:
Quote:
Ship Class: Either a Juggernaut or a Aquilon Carrier
Name of Vessel: //Name as it appears in-game
Owner's Name: The name of the buyer: either a single individual or an organization.
Commander: Leader of the crew
2nd in Command: Required
Chief of Engineering: Required
Chief of Security: Required
Other significant Crew Members: Optional
Source of Funds: Where did you get the money to purchase this ship? Do you work for yourself or an organization? Are you funded by a faction?
Purpose of Purchase: This is the most important section of the application. What do you intend to do with the ship, and most importantly, why do you need it? If you are a merchant, do you intend to use the Juggernaut as a warship and if so, why do you need one? If you, the ship owner, are a military commander you better have an explaination as to how you acquired such a large amount of credits.
Do you have a wing of fighters/bombers to escort your ship? If "no," why not? A capital ship is home to hundreds of crew members but it can be destroyed at the hands of only two bombers. What measures are you ready to take to protect your crew?
Example:
Quote:
Ship Class: Juggernaut Class Battleship
Name of Vessel: (]c[)Consortium
Owner's Name: Zoners Trading Consortium
Commander: John Boll
2nd in Command: Lou Salome
Chief of Engineering: Frank Zamboni
Chief of Security: Charles Burns
Source of Funds: Zoners Consortium Bank. We are a faction comprised of over 7 active representatives who gain money for the faction on a monthly basis, primarily through trading.
Purpose of Purchase: To serve as the primary mobile Headquarters for the Zoners Consortium faction. Our faction has been in existance for over half a year and the number of employees working for us is in the hundreds. At this day and age, it is important to have a central facility that can reposition itself in space as needed. Stationary bases are becoming less practical and for security purposes, it is important that our Headquarters does not remain tied to a single location. We aim to keep the vessel within the confines of O-74, with the exception of certain cases.
Do you have a wing of fighters/bombers to escort your ship? Although our Juggernaut is not meant to regularly engage in combat, whilst outside O-74 it will be escorted by a number of other vessels. The ZTC has at its disposal a large number of fighters/bombers, in addition to several gunboats.
Please tell us what you think. Getting OSI's blessing would also be good.
After all of that, we will then have to go to the powers-that-be (Admins) for approval.
Just checking in to say all is well and I have access to my ships...again. Got laughed at by the crew and feeling peachy. Anyways I have moved the Trident to Baffin temporarily as I decide a more permanent position in the Taus.
Also, I like what Yev has proposed in the above transmission.
//OOC: Gives us a nice chance to cement our Ship's RP through official means as well as regulate the "irresponsible"

Glad to see that you're back and running, Xavier. Now, hopefully, these annoying "bugs" will stop plaguing you.
As to Mr. Lightwing's proposal, I have always agreed with the regulation of not just Juggernaughts and Aquilons but destroyers and cruisers as well. Sadly, it's hard to enforce 24/7 as we can't always sit at Pueblo and guard it. Yes, something else must be done. So Tazmaniacs, if you have some other ideas that I can bring to Mr. Lightwing, let me know.
I guess you could say that this form does the policing for us, since those who go through the proper channels get put on the list of approved ship owners and those who dont will be seen as illegal ship owners. Easier to regulate and we know who should and shouldnt have certain ships
