I, myself, made a non-promotional movie for Disco. It's sitting at home and needs to be edited, but it shows a few of the Discovery-exclusive ships, namely, the Storta, Tridente, Pirate Transport, upholder, and the Keepers.
I plan to have it up later. Still need to get around to the Camera Ship. I assume the command is -nohud in the target shortcut?
Edit: It's got a bit of story. Mostly, my MNS ship transferring to \CS\. Then it's my PTrans taking some 4-5 minutes to die 150m from the sun, and my Upholder battling a Nommie.
Just for the record on this thread, this is my idea for a temporary one.
I will be filming one soon involving scripted NPC actors (F Yeah!) that will have a plot. But that is on hold temporarily while I solve the real world problem called Polynomial Division (I have a severe weakness with polynomails).
Might you need any figurants i'd be more then happy to assist! At the moment i've got a outcast fighter and bomber, a pirate transport, a mining ship and a zoner gunboat.
When making the video, make sure you have royalty free music, Freelancer music or permission to use the tracks with the video. If you don't have the correct permission, YouTube will remove it.
When rendering the final video, make sure it is in the HD quality format. In order for a video to be acknowledged as "HD" it needs to be 1920 x 720 or 1920 x 1080. They may have changed it, but from my experience, it is only those two resolutions that will pass for HD. Even if your video is 2700 by 3800, it will just be sized down to standard definition to save bandwidth.
If I was going to remake the 4.85 trailer, I would add scenes with positive quotes from the numerous people that have covered the Discovery mod, like that gaming magazine for example, and anything from ModDB.
The music part isn't really a tip...It is a must. I have had an account banned for breaching copyright though my numerous Battlefield videos I had on my account.
I look forward to seeing what you guys come up with.:)
It was composed with a DVD I purchased with royalty free music. It has layered tracks I composed in a Sound editing suite. It came out nicely, but I have decided to go with something that makes more of an impact.

Thanks for the tips, 13Cent. I realize that FL music may not be totally royalty free yet. For the final video, I believe Leo volunteered to make some music for us.
But before we talk about a final product, we need a storyboard. My first post here was to be a base, not an ultimatum.
On a side note, how was the video? I tried to make up for the lack of vocals in the movie with that huge-arse video description.
