So Interspace technically isn't supposed to be a trading company... they're not miners... they're not a military. They're not explorers of the unknown, wanderers drifting from house space, smugglers, or pirates.
So, a question if you'd permit...
What the hell do you do?! I know, "insurance", but in-game stuff.
I mean, seriously. I'm trying to figure it out, I really want to know since I think there's some good RP potential there, but I just don't know what to do in-game. Plus I'd just like to know more about the faction - not IND, Interspace itself.
Nah, don't trade. Get tons of money from other sources and then start a big fat loaning business. Also, buy ships, rep them and ID them and then sell them for higher price.
Having trading branch of interspace just doesn't seem cool enough.
A corporation such as Interspace shouldn't be powertrading all day. All I believe needs to happen is a simple cargo restriction. I would be suggesting a maximum of 1 thousand cargo space on the ID, but that's just my opinion as to the change.
I mean, if an ID even restricts to 4700, no-one uses it. Everyone just loves their 5k trains.
Special commodity: insurance documents. Don't know how to implement trade with them though.
I just dropped my Interspace ID for a Freelancer one. All I ever used the Interspace ID for was some background to my story (as I had to get a corporate one to keep the ship in the story) and hauling cargo. RP'ing a real insurance agent in disco never crossed my mind. I'm sure someone might be able to pull it through though.
My characters on Disco: [LN]-Andy.Doggett, The.Flying.Betty, Russ.Dalton, Harald.Treutiger
Here is what you do. You grab a bomber. Offer 'insurance' to passing traders. Say it comes with 'free escort'. If they get blown up for reasons other then idiocicy, pay them back for the cost of the cargo. Otherwise, you get the normal escorting fee.
Alternatively. A rumor on Newark Station says that Interspace could double their profits if the Lane Hackers weren't in the way. So you proceed to anywhere that a lane hacker might be NEAR THE LANES. If it's a pirate, call it a traitor to the board of directors, roleplay, then shoot. If it's a smuggler, call it a traitor, tell it to proceed to the nearest LPI station to turn itself in, and if it doesn't comply, shoot it.
Um... I thought the whole point of the thread was to explore the IC not the IND per sae... hmmm and now it seems to be a total free for all on the IND. I wonder why that is? Perhaps if you wish to understand the IND of IC, you might actually try asking? I suspect this might yield better results.
