Unless you believe in the Rothschild/Rockefeller/Morgan Guaranty/23 Wall Street cartel, which financed 16 different sides of the war to wrest the ball from the Gnomes of Zurich...
But then, they supposedly financed the Russian revolution as well, which effectively pincered the Third Reich.
Ah, well. The Gateway dillemma is interesting. And if ya check further with the SF, I believe they see Samura boats down Bret way every day..

Lets get over the limitations of the Freelancer game engine ... And the continual comparisons with the real
world ... Step away from the wiki button now ...
Raven's post there has given us all food for thought, and Yngen's original premise of setting up the roleplay
situation is bloody excellent. Pretty much every faction, KNF, SF, BSG and GEO now can get involved at some
level, just using a bit of thought and planning, as Raven has shown us already.
Lordy, I could get IND involved if you start shooting up the GEO ... Have to look after my assets.
This can be a long and fruitful piece of RP for the western side of Sirius, even for the odd mercenary group
who can be a bit realistic with pricing, and ship choice. Remember the house militaries would never hire
capital ships when of course, they have a plethora of their own.
The sky is the limit with this situation, though those not involved with Igiss's on going NPC war will have to
think very carefully before sticking their noses in.
*Goes off to think about blockade running both sides of the fence for the IND's enterprising traders*
Always someone who is prepared to make money out of a conflict ... And this one is not going to go away.
Thanks for the time put into this piece of RP Yngen, and the thought provoking answers from a few.

Please let me know if I've left anyone out or misspelled something.
In all we've had 2 fleet encounters, both in Tau-31. Once it was BillytheKid in his Bretonian Gunboat versus Yngen in his Chimaera, the other was [KNF]Tawakemono(Kusari BS,) [KNF]Chuushin(Kusari GB,) and [KNF]Kisaragi (Chimaera) versus [SFBS]Paladin (Bret BS) and SFB-Will (RH Bomber) with two =BSG= units attempting to keep the peace around Holman. These fights have been somewhat abbreviated due in part to the difficult conditions in tau-31 with debris, lag and super tricked out NPCs. The Battleship encounter had some good role play but lacked real fighting substance to it. We need more activity with this. BAF units need to press further into 29, or heck, into 23 to defend the tau 31 gate construction site.
We are sorely missing Outcast groups in the Tau war. I know there have been a few fights between =BSG= and GoR but the last one seems to have ended with some complaining. Stop complaining and fight I say. Outcasts should expand their influence more. Go beyond tau 23 and become a serious player.
BDR, NovaPG and WU: they all seem stuck on camping in Honshu or New Tokyo. NovaPG seem content to camp Sigma13 and pick off traders. Understand that KNF sees the war in the Taus as its primary responsibility. There is the possibility of some of us cross-populating factions and building KSP characters to fight in the core systems. In this case we would use those characters to fight the Dragons in Kusari while leaving our Naval units in the Taus...but for now we are tired of traveling back and forth across Kusari because the Dragon players all want to camp Honshu. Work with us here please.
The other 6 encounters were all convoy interception and pirating. For the most part the convoy members chose to loiter around when an enemy approached so that the two sides could have a decent dog fight. KNFs usage of Container Transports makes it difficult on the aggressors to reel in the transports, which are supposed to be their primary targets. Bugged hit boxes and size make them invulnerable to anything but a battleship cruise disruptor, and even those are mostly too slow. A possible alternative is converting all of the Ctrans into something more disruptable such as a train-but the train is sold in Bretonia...so its a dilemma. To my knowledge a gunboat was used only once in the convoy scenario but unsuccessfully (transport chose to run in this case instead of loiter.) Its possible we may up the ante with this effort to include larger ships since the SF prefer to use capital ships anyways.
I would like to extend my thanks to all of the participants thus far. What few encounters I've had have been fun, (even getting owned by Koomo's tizzie laiden Hussar-I'll be ready with no lag next time bub:) I only ask that people who role play BAF or BPA, please participate even more. We've noted the presence of BSO players (BAF players from the BK server.) We have not been able to draw BSO into the playing and wonder if they even read the forums to know what is going on. Perhaps some coordination between SF and BSO would help. We hope the SF shows even more activity. I know there are good role players in the SF that are sick and tired of defending Cambridge all the time. You guys need to taste the hunt once again and let the dogs loose.
I encourage SF and BSO members to get traders tagged with Bretonian companies (Planetform, Bowex, BMM...) and figure out your own convoy route so that your KNF opponents can enjoy the hunt as well some times. I noticed Gemini_75 flying a Planetform Train...this is very cool and we'll try to pay him a visit next time we see him, better get some fighter cover buddy:)
Because of Raven's insightful comments the KNF will leave Gateway tagged shippers alone due to their relationship with the IMG.
All of you independant players are welcome still to participate. I imagine some of these people are well known members playing incognito, which is fine with me. Others I have noticed are a little newer to this server but have still shown a good head for the game play.
As a new addition to the event I will be starting a new topic in the role play forum dedicated to the Tau War. There are tidbits of this story floating around in 3 or 4 topics that would be better suited in one topic together, anyone who participates on the server with this is invited to contribute to the topic.
Hrm, that was LOOTED from a lvl 19 titan, after nearly 300 kills... and there is only one:D
I wholly endorse everything you've said here man, this is an excellent and well thought out post. The Deut runs have worked well so far, and I for one am REALLY sick of sitting in cam fighting waves of 'pirates' who have nothing better to do.
The SF and the BSO have been doing a little coordination, but I have doubts about some of their ships (Talarca? WTF?) and similar things. I don't know that they do read the forums.
EDIT: Oh, we have a planned route, but we're not telling you what it is:P

Most of our fighters were busy, as usual, parrying and thrusting another NovaPG attack; so,
Fool that I am, I started to head back from Canaria without fighter cover. I got tied up in private comms getting the details of the Nova engagement. (No more walking on rice cakes if I can help it..).
During the intel review, the wiley SF MalteseFalcon Gunboat moved to the Dublin side of the 49 hole and laid in wait for the Hex 23. I stayed on the 49 side until I had the intel from up north secured from Ensign Kasai, then swallowed my Wrigley's, and closed my eyes.
Maltese Falcon was indeed there, but he'd made the mistake of striking up a conversation with the IMG Pegasus, who was also in Dublin, visiting his IMG brethren at the Hood, I believe.
I hit cruise, and tried to make the Falcon unsure as to which exit I would use out of the Dublin system.
We weaved and bobbed awhile, thru Dublin and Edinburgh, until he gave up the chase. But he was game all the way, and we RP'd in system chat to increase the fun. Kudos, Maltese Falcon. Maybe next time!
The reason for the blood dragons dont going to the Tau war is that there are no friendly bases there to dock, and we cant leave ships in the middle of space as this is considered system camping. The attacks in Honshu and Sigma 13 happens because there are jump holes that links these systems to Chugoku.
The inner Kusari systems (Kyushu, New Tokyo and Honshu) are well guarded against blood dragons and GC. In Liberty we have two rogues bases inside their systems, such thing dont happens in Kusari space. The Farmers Alliance keep a base in Kyushu but they are hostile to the dragons. So we have to travel all the way through jump holes to attack Kusari.
Shikoku and Hokkaido dont counts as inner Kusari systems. The only populated planet in Shikoku is owned by Samura industries, and Hokkaido is not well developed so dont have any economical importance.
Such composition dont happens in Liberty, where all systems are well developed (except Alaska that have restricted access). My only outcast ship is ready to attack Liberty due to outcast militia there. I cant spare it in the Taus right now.
I have a KNF char in the Taus but every time I connect with it theres nobody playing there, so its rusting like my RM char in Rheinland. Guess Im more lucky with unlawfuls. I loved the battles between the dragons and KNF, I just dont liked the corsairs coming to help the KNF and using a tactic of distraction with me. Montoya have sended me a trade request and that distracted my attention to the red signal in the top of the screen, consequently giving the chance to Maniaco to blow my ship. Thats a dishonourable tactic that we can expect to be common for corsairs.
Theres no such thing as a "the enemy of my enemy is my friend". If the dragons spot the bretonians they will shot them down, theres no excuse. If we find the kusarians and bretonians engaging each other, we will shot on both. If we find kusarians, bretonians, corsairs and IMG there will be chaos, nobody will be spared.
F Wolf, Errr ... Check that old map mate, Cali Base in Tau 23 I believe belongs to the Outcasts. Just a thought.
Bad excuse, seems you guys just like to be the other side of the Kusari system, just like the BSG at the moment.
Perceived action area.
Please check your facts before making bold statements concerning roleplay. And which Blood Dragons do you
speak for ?
There is much more going on around the place that can be exploited if all you want to do is fight, but roleplay
not PvP please. Sounds like you have too many chars than you know what to do with also.
Yngen has explained this really well, the RP exists for all to see and read about. Here and the news reports.
The Dragons involved, maybe not, but don't say there are no bases please.
The GoR have had their hands full at home recently, but I'm sure that will change. Though I'm convinced
that will mean the BSG will be Battlestar bound for home again. Make your minds up boys ...
Yngen, as usual it seems like everyone wants to hi-jack the timing once more, lets just get on with it with the
people involved now, seems to be working just fine.

Well I read the whole thing and it sounds good, but like Hood says, I think you can make do with what you have for now, I'm sure it will attract more people in time. Btw thanks for the news I quoted above. I should point out... we don't mind a bit of "well you can trade here, but we don't have to like it" RP.. you know.. constant scans... making us wait for customs checks... maybe make a list of commodities we can't move in and out of Kusari.
Don't get me wrong, I'm happy that you except that Gateway is not a normal Bertonian company, and I'm not trying to get things both ways, but I do think it's a interesting little situation, which is why I think we can be involved. Just maybe not direct hostiles. We at GEO are also considering making SF characters just to get involved in this war as a whole, except from what we know (read on forums and see on server) the SF and KNF don't seem to be engaging each other "actively", yes I understand the rat problems in other areas of Kusari, but shouldn't the SF be using this to their advantage.
Anyway, I went a bit off topic... GEO and the parent company Gateway Shipping will start to service IMG interests in the tau systems once again, as well as forfill select contracts within Kusari.
