Omicron Eta - home to the 'battlefield' between the Outcasts and Corsairs.
If I understand correctly, Eta was developed to keep the main Hispanic conflict away from the craziness and lolwuttery of old Sigma-13.
Goodness knows there were enough fights centered on Yanagi Depot to bring the poor Junkers to tears!
But I tell you, the Sigmas are quiet now. I would make the call to put the Sigmas back as the 'front line' in the war - with the GMG aghast at both sides.
But that being said, Eta is there, and has some interesting stuff in it - so what to do?
Here is my proposal:
1) Reconnect the jump holes in Eta. Instead of connecting it 'north-south' between Theta and Outcast space, connect it 'east-west' between Sigma-60 and, say, Omicron Lost (nomad space, but still near enough to Corsair space).
2) This could occur due to natural jumphole instability, too many capital ships passing through, secret weapons being deployed, or Nomad intervention.
3) This way Eta no longer becomes the 'superhighway' for conflict - but both sides can still travel this way if they like. The Sigmas become the most direct route like they used to be - and trade traffic becomes more dangerous.
4) Eta also becomes an 'exploration' system, and a way for nomad factions to infiltrate Sirius via the Sigmas. OCs, GMG and other factions could also go into Nomad space this way. You could even drop the amount of Hispanic NPCs, and put in nommy NPCs.
My proposal was just to reconnect things so that the shortest path is through the Sigmas again - whilst still leaving the system for other uses such as access to nommy space.
personally I dont think its fair on the people who developed Eta to simply remove it.
Eta was made so that its harder for respective lolfleets from invading eachothers home systems all the time. It was made so they'd fight in Eta more. I tend to think these are the best connections. I love geograhpy, especially connections and space geograhpy.
<strike>TO OMICRON-64
Perhaps omicron 64 is a placeholder for ownership for one of the many outcast factions. Its currently empty, and maybe a connection to Eta would add some interesting new territory to fight in.</strike>
TO SIGMA-13
As said before, it would revitalize life in the smallest region in the mod (only five systems, one is empty and another is a guard system).
I agree with you in theory, though not necessarily in implementation. What if it was moved slightly and connected Omicron-92 and Sigma-60? Or not, and Sigma-19 and Omicron Minor?
The thing that could be balanced nicely, though, is that the Sigmas are, on the whole, much more anti-Outcast (Cryer and Samura are decidedly anti-Outcast in 17, OSC deals with Corsairs in 19) but Eta is weighted heavily in the Outcasts favor. Thus it could work great, yeah?
Omicron Kappa is sorta stupid to me. Primus needs to be named something else without gorillas. Gammu is understandable because its harvester. Of course, a jumphole in that area of space hasnt been added in ages and it would be nice. Then again...

Kappa is where they ran out of ideas in Vanilla.
