Who honestly sits there and looks into their cockpit? You'll be primarily looking at the back of your ship in game, and rarely do you get close enough to look in another person's cockpit.
It's just another vanity feature. I wouldn't want to be the one who goes through all the ships in the game just to make their cockpits look pretty. Vanity features, meh.

By your reasoning we should just leave all the badly textured imports in as well.
But, if we got a list of the ships people believe should have it changed, then all someone has to do is change those ships, not go looking at every one.

Yet it's a one man army ship.
A lot of stuff doesn't make sense in Disco, but that's what you get when so many people contribute to a single mod. Lining up everything would be hard and tiresome, and I doubt that the creators would bother with it.

There's a difference between textures and models, you know. For one, models have a poly limit, and cockpits on fighters are so small you wouldn't notice any distinguishable detail any way. Also, textures are one of the most size-consuming parts of the Mod.
On top of that, whenever you make changes to a model/texture, you must re-export it, and hard-point it again. Which is very time consuming. This I know because I've re-hardpointed several of my ships repeatedly after making minor changes.
So in other words, you want the Dev team to spend hours working on ships that already exist in-game, that are working models and have absolutely nothing wrong with them, make them again to add a small, insignificant detail that no one will even notice. Yay for time management, we should promote you to lead developer or something.

Surely another community member could do it.
But whatever, I see your point. If I could do It I'd volunteer to do it myself, but I can't.
I guess that settles it then.
Nevermind the cockpit-from-the-inside words, on my second thought i decided they doesnt matter.
EDIT: Well, actually, i prefer "dull cockpit with 1 man inside" to some weird cockpits like on Aegira bomber. If it could be done better then good, but you need someone to actually do the job done.
' Wrote:Actually, i try to always use cockpit view when flying fighters and bombers. Always. Even in gunboat sometimes, as its still quite small and reasonable to be viewed from that point even when it has 3 men in crew. It gives more effect of presense or whatever its called.
I like to look at my ships XD
Which is why the Repair Ship camera placement suxxors.
