Aw, no UN? My mind was already overclocking on inventing ways to use such an organization to take over Sirius. Muahahaha...
But you killed the dream. Thanks a lot.
If the organization doesn't do UN-style military assistance ops, then how useful is it going to be? Different factions role-play diplomacy well enough on their own. They get a couple guys to fly escort and they have two of their Admiralty battleships meet to talk (or something along those lines). I don't really see a need for such an NGO.
*puts on fedora and trenchcoat* Now I know what sort of community you really are. *walks off into the rain*
I suggest starting privately with leaders of the houses, forming relations and whatnot and not starting "directly in the head"
You summoning Kanzler and president of liberty to a meeting will probably get you ignored since they have no idea who you are, what does your faction do or anything like that. Just saying "we are teh awesome diplomats of diplomation" doesn't help really
Signed/ Well as a course of action if you are set on this then I agree with this course of action. Talking to the heads of factions or members of government would naturally be the first step were one would begin such a thing as it is true you might try getting such high people to talk but will receive no response and I'm sure if you stumble on a negotiation and intervene in someway without prior authorisation you would most definitely be looking at falling into hot water I can remember at least three cases were around negotiations martial law or an equivelant has been declared and the general citizens or unidentified vessels not officially part of the meeting have been removed....

That is generally how it occurs two representatives from both parties meet under escort unless the hosting faction provides a guard for the representatives. ( I remember when I went to Liberty with Lord Canning Liberty provided us escort)
In regards to Long Coats other comment I to thought that it was of a UN setup you were talking about.
I personally do not think we need NGO or any form of non government diplomatic representation the relevant houses do just fine. I don't imagine any house would let an outside organisation intervene or interfere with its diplomatics especially considering the way certain governments are structured and their flow of power.
Though this is a good idea maybe redo it so that your non government organisation is more of a law protection agency and deals with disputes amongst citizens of other houses yet that might just cancel the need for embassies and put a lot of house ambassadors/ foreign relations equivilents out of work.
Sorry if i seem anti the idea I'm struggling to find it a place in the system. Have a good evening or day depending what end of the world your at take care:D.
Well I don't see why a lot of people are saying this won't work.
I think it'll work fine, they just won't get a lot accomplished thats all. I can see them requisitioning transport freighters and carrying refugees from Leeds and other stations across Sirius away from the war. I can also see them lobbying and pushing for ceasefires (although they may not necessarily achieve it).

Well when two factions really don't quite trust each other with security, these guys would step in, providing a meeting spot (e.g. aboard a luxury yacht or democritus) and moderate-to-heavy escorts.
Anyway, I'm just pitching an idea, but if y'all think it'll work I'll make a character and start building up money and whatnot.

Mere RP? plus it might work after all; if the liberty and rheinland admirals meet, both will have (inRP) a biased opinion on how a ceasefire for example would be; suddenly they would be back at war because none would meet each other's terms. But with a neutral organization, maybe they could reach an agreement, due to neutral fair based terms. Also I like the refugees evac idea.

That's exactly the purpose I thought of! We've got people who think they they know best, who think they they're in the right, and if they want peace they'd probably try and get as much out of it as possible at their opponent's expense. The purpose of this organization would be to help prevent another Treaty of Versailles by presenting unbiased mediation and assistance.
