Quote:Newark Infocard:
Newark Station is the local headquarters for Interspace Commerce (IC), one of the largest financial concerns in the Sirius Sector. While IC was initially responsible for financing the construction of the vast Jump Gate and Trade Lane network that connects the various colonies, it was forced to divest itself of these holdings as a result of the Rheinland-Kusari Trade Embargo in 521 AS. IC has since transitioned to insuring cargo shipments within and between the various colonies. The remainder of the Newark Station population is a constantly shifting crowd of traders, technocrats, executives, and Bounty Hunters, all cutting deals and arranging for the transport or protection of their goods.
Nowhere are the Angels mentioned, and more knowledgable Angels than myself confirm we exist outside the RP universe.
I myself greatly enjoy taking in-game characters which are supposed to exist outside the RP universe and finding ways to fit them in to RP-character's perception and roleplay.
For example, when I see an Admin, a treat it as a sensor anomoly, and suggest it could be one of those extremely powerful non-corporeal beings which are mentioned in the legends of all peoples across Sirius.
Mysterious aliens is, in my view, always the best way of RPing otherwise officially "OORP" organisations. That's why I find this ship's basic concept fairly appropriate.
P.S: Nah just kiddin:PIts a really nice model, but if you ask me: dont make it so big, a HF sized model with White texture (Gallic Royal ships ?) and make it look a bit more Gentle, its so Aggressive now, but it'll be a perfect choice for angels:)

Read the actual in-game infocard on the server. Planet infocards can be edited in-game to be different then what the .ini files say. On top of that, at this point in discovery development, station and planet infocards are different then their vanilla counterparts. Newark station DOES mention the angels.
Hmm. Given that none of the Angels I have spoken to know of this, or recognise it's viability...it seems we have a disparity between the mod and the faction referenced.
Then, the discussion becomes; should the infocard be changed, or the faction +ship?
As good as it looks, apologies, I think it needs to be smoother. Currently, the first thought that hit me when I saw it was Pyramid Head. I do not know whether it is just FL's low polygon count need or how models appear in FL, that make it look so angled. Either way, I wanted to see whether you can make a smoother model Jinx. XD. (See below for comparison. It may just be my terrible eyes.)
Excellent work Jinx, thank you so much. As for a bit of background, I asked Jinx a few months ago to create a ship for the Angels based on the following goals:
1. The ship be easily visible from a distance in order for new players to see us and approach out of curiosity. Most if not all new players don't know who Discovery Angels are. As such, a light color with a glowing or aura effect was requested.
2. The ship be tough enough to not be easily killed. Many brand new players will launch from Erie and immediately start shooting at us. It's quite frustrating especially when we are talking to several players at once.
3. The ship design did not have to follow what is considered a normal Freelancer look. This is because we exist outside of role play. Though an individual Angel will use whatever role-play dialog is appropriate to maximize the learning of the player they are working with.
Other than this I gave Jinx full creative license and I'm well pleased.
