This came up after a long piece of roleplay in New Berlin between the [RM] and the [IND], concerning the
conduct of certain traders, and whether smuggling was the order of the day.
Jay Simon, my CEO character, had to convince both Admiral Krieg and various officers of the military that
his traders would never smuggle, and there must have been some mistake.
You had to be there, so I won't bother explaining how the conversation went along.
Anyway, a while after this, someone pointed out to me that my character was a touch like Lando Calrissian,
I won't insult your intelligence, and have to explain who he is ... Got me thinking on this.
More like a cross between Han Solo and Lando I suppose, as the character flies his ships still, not is just the
administrator of the Cloud City. As my character developed from a smuggler/gun runner to owning a very
legitimate corporation, I liked the comparison, he could have won Interspace in a card game ...
So I thought it would be nice to give everyone a chance to give us their own character's original roots. As
this game is based on science fiction, these most likely would come from movies or television, as the real
world has yet to catch up.
Give it a go, made me look at my characterisations in a slightly different light. Though none of them were
deliberately created with anyone else in mind, the comparisons will always be there.
Over to you.
Some say he is a proud member of: "The most paranoid group of people in the Community."
A very Interesting Post Hoodlum. And I think its very helpful. Let me Start with my RM character Axel Topf.
In designing him, I took my previous Rheinland military character, Lance and his semi essentric personality and combined him with the super religious pilots from the Warhammer 40,000 universe. If YOu already ahven't noticed, Axel is super devoted when it comes to his worship of the 'Chancellor' who he believes is almost God-like, much like the 'Emperor' in Warhammer. In Flight, you will hear him shouting out 'Fur Den Kanzler!!' Which means For the Chancellor in German. Also, continually motivating the other members of RM with sayings of enlightenment, and many of the Quotes at the bottom his message in the RM dump are quotes he has said in-game, my favorite being the one I amde on the spot when talking with Hiltrad and Leider "My ship is the chancellors sould and my guns are his Fists!"
i suppose i based jessie montgomery (SF ) on the sisters of battle of warhammer 40k
mainly because she's a female who has a tendency to kick ass and i kind of added myself in the fact that she has skills with a blade and considers honor important along with her willingness to face death as Brettonia needs instaed of falling back
imganie something deep and life changing put here.....
and then forget it
I kind of made mine as a mix between the real Miralukans and my own ideas. Like in KOTOR II, you find a Miralukan, and the entire race has jedi-potential.. I took the jedi part out and made it simply psychic abilities, that were limited to a degree. For those of you who read Part I of my current story, you'll find Luciaden can do considerably more than psychic things now.. Thats because of very odd circumstances, and if another Miralukan were to be present at his death, that one could in turn take the kind of power he had. Fortunately for all of you, Luci won't be a demi-god after Part II is finished. (Not sure if there will be a Part III, should it be sequal, trilogy, or series.. Hmm)
The thing about Luciaden's eyes having a heat-sensing trait is due to the Miralukans of KOTOR, who have eyes that see through the force instead of light. I simply twisted the eyes from seeing through the force, to seeing heat.
Though I didn't do this intentionally (I had only been 50% done with KOTOR II at the time..) I found that Miralukans also had a gift of reading minds through the force, and seeking through it, not as much the physical use of it (example; lifting rocks and the like). This is similar to Luciaden being able to read minds that aren't particularly dense and powerful (though he could now..). Also, similar to Luciaden being able to sense the locations of individuals through his psychic abilities, touching their minds. This is i he knows them well enough. For example, he could find the locations of Aurelia, Xizor, Keiran (before he went boomy on Honshu), Admiral Soren and Korrd, as well as Alpha. He can find them because he knows them well, and they are open to his probings (Korrd to an extent.. In finding yes, but I don't think I could ever justify being able to read his mind).
Also, the Miralukan of KOTOR were secluded people who did not leave their world often. They liked being alone among themselves. Very similar to the Miralukans I created, who stayed in their own system until the attacks by the C'tan provoked them into striking back.
I kind of made them over the course of 4 hours on day at my fathers, when I had nothing to do. I went over what kind of power they would have, history of the one I had left to live. I made Raf'el slightly later when I had my Phantom character reveal himself to be an operative of Luciaden and luring the Phantoms to New Berlin when the AW were 'holding' Rheinland for the chancellor. After that I made Raf'el to be my new Phantom character, trying to keep it a bit of a secret for awhile. I made Raf'el a Miralukan to give someone to compete against Luciaden and aid the Phantoms against him. I didn't make him as powerful as Luciaden to begin with, having Raf'el rely on help from the Phantoms when fighting against Luciaden and the AW, while I had Luciaden doing more solo missions or ones where he went on his flagship.
I could still have the original notepad file with all this on it.. Except for damned blue screen hell. But at least I double my HDD size..
I'm not sure who I based Jonex Skai on. A kind of over confident guy who doesn't really take life too seriously. He could be only seconds away from dying and still make a joke. I guess as I was (and I guess still am kind of...) a big Star Wars fan, Jonex is kind of like Han Solo, or young Anakin Skywalker.
