Okay. I've got several complaints of the spamming, and the general situation of the forums right now.


Not long ago, this forum was a nice, quiet place. Where everybody exchanged opinions in a civilized, peaceful manner. With little spam, ooc, and no flames.

Right now, the forums are a hell of spam, OOC, and general misbehaviour.
I will now be much more harsh than I used to be in order to bring order back to the forums.

I will begin banning, finning, and do all that is necessary in order to achieve that end.

Don't spam, insult, or alter the public order. Even in the flood. This is the only warning. Don't surprise if you see that you one day login and you discover that you have been temporarily or permanently banned from forums. And don't think that being an oldtimer or friend of the admins will save you. In fact, i expect that oldtimers set the example on how people should behave by behaving that way themselves.

That being said, korrd goes into mad mode, sits and waits to see who is the first to dare to spam or alter the public orders on server or forums.


An other thing:

It seems that making fun out of those who were punished or warned is becoming the Forum official sport. I WILL punish the people who do that more severely than others. Making fun of those punished is, from my point of view, a terrible offence. They already had enough with the same of the punishment.

I'll post this here as it is relevant to the points you have made ...

Currently the problem stems from a a couple of individuals who are actually banned from the server. Banning
means they commited an offence contrary to server rules. These bans were made by the server admins after
several warnings were issued, and in my opinion are quite well deserved.
One individual appears to think that the ban from gameplay gives him the right to make this place his other
playground as of course, he cannot get into the server. This has meant general spamming of almost everything
with absolutely nothing to add to the discussions here. THAT I FIND OFFENSIVE. Its like letting a prisoner on
remand continue exactly the same way as before sentence was passed. Basically no remorse has been shown,
and to be honest probably means he will continue to act exactly the same way in the future.
Punishment is due in this respect, for the continued lack of it shown to every one else here ...The other individual has shown absolutely no regard for the roleplay aspects of rhe server, and infact is here
looking for us to give him loopholes in the server rules, so when his ban is served he can return here and
continue with exactly the same behaviour as got him the ban in the first place ...
THAT I FIND OFFENSIVE TOO
I shall continue to point out the errors of their ways to both individuals, whether they can see it the way I do or
not.
I would ask for a period of time for banned individuals to have their forum privelidges removed as well. This
would remove any doubt in the mind of those being punished that this is infact a punishment, and not a joke.
And currently due to the enourmous quantity of unsolicited bollocks streaming from one keyboard, that the post
count be infact dropped back to zero in an attemt to make it quite clear, that a punishment on the server does
not give him the right to make a mockery of the forums.
In both of these respects I shall continue to voice my opinions concerning these individuals in an attempt to get
something done about the situation. Their current smug smartassed attitude is now beginning to get right up
my effin' nose. ITS AN INSULT TO THE COLLECTIVE INTELLIGENCE OF THOSE THAT PLAY BY THE RULES.
So before threatening fines on those that would try to point out this, maybe fines on those creating the
situation in the first place would be in order, as none of this would have occured if some sort of respect had
been shown from the outset

That is part of a problem.

The other part, is old-timers insulting those who were banned or punished, instead of trying to guide them to a better end. That simple.
The problem is bidirectional here, my Fellow Hoodlum. And I will no tolerate such a behavior from any of the parts involved.

Korrd, if they were showing any attempt to return to good behaviour, maybe I would have the time to show
some inclination to help a little. So far no attempt has been shown by either to make the effort.
Just treating the ban as some kind of celebrity status ...
When and if a little remorse is shown, and a GENUINE apology received, certainly from one individual this time,
I will have a modicum of respect.
Till then, nothing here has shown either of them to have a tad of regard for anyone else. Its does work both
ways doesn't it ? ...

Don't worry. If they dont really change (and i hope they apologize), I will ban them with no questions asked this time. from forums and server.

I've bland for too long already. It's time to do a little clean up, and restore the community to the good old standards...

OK, while both of you are right, I think we forgot to be more 'abiding' to the Forum Rules. I'd encourage all of us to re-read them.

A lot of us are guilty of flaming to some degree lately, including me. But honestly, it has been called for by the flamed parties. Not much of an excuse, I know.

On another note, we got the huge forum signatures back again. Please people, some of you have a >800px high signature, it won't even fit my fullscreen window (and I use 1280x1024 resolution). Another problem is the width of the signatures, quite some people have 800px wide ones, they are spoiling the width of the 'Blue Solution' theme (they don't fit so it expands the posts) I would point to the Signatures part of the Forum Rules. The width part of my request is me personally saying 'please'.

Korrd, if there is anyone here I trust to do the right thing without any influence, it is you. Thank you for giving
me the opportunity to put my side of the case.
I hope they do show a little inclination to change, though personally I have my doubts, as it ain't the first time
I have had to see all this. Friends have left because of past behavior in this respect.
I hope you can see where I'm coming from here, maybe my tolerance levels are a touch lower than yours, but
I'm done with it now. Time will tell.
So back to debating the finer points of Freelancer Discovery with intelligent individuals who care about the game
and the modification please.

I like to consider my self and old-timer of disco..

but back on topic.

I have tryed to help many people in there RP includeing one of the People that u have convicted (i think i know who u are talking about, not going to say any names). I have tryed contless times, to get his/her RP in order. I have evan asked other people in my clan to give up some of there spear playing time to try and help out in any way posabal ( this was quite a few months ago) But than i gave up thinking it was hopeless..

But now I shal try agan. If u think that the Old-timers of disco dont help the convicted im going to change that and do my best to sort this persons RP out, ok..
