Hi people, i have a question:
Im planning to request a new faction. I allready got a base idea and a few reps. Im planning to make it abit a world-wide faction. But its a suprise where its about ^^
But could someone answer these 2 questions:
1: Cause i want this faction to work out good i want to set it up good. So could someone tell me how/what to do to make it run good?(i know how to lead a clan, but cause this is an RP server im wondering how to make it go run well in 1 shot ^^)
2: What "Active" admin can i PM with the faction ID, so he can feedback it etc?
The first thing you should do is set up your faction around an existing ingame faction.
You cant just hop in and establish a new one from scratch and hope you get an ID for it.
The CR are the best example how such things go.
They made Zoner characters and build their roleplay around the zoners.
After some time and beeing around for a long time, they managed to get an own ID and split off the Zoners.
So my sugguestion would be that you write down your idea somewhere, figure out which faction fits for the moment and do the roleplay around it with said faction.
Try to differ your RP slowly from the core faction and hope for the best.
What Malexa said, with the additional advice that, depending on what kind of faction you're planning on, sometimes generic IDs like Pirate, Freelancer, Mercenary, etc. can work.

thanks for the fast replies, yeah i think i should do it like that. The faction is based apon old zoner scientists who got infected, by a nomad with a few slight changes mixed with allot of other things, like cancer cells, flue, and other things what was in the lab, at the end of SoLs excistance. So i think i will start with the zoners then. I allready got an diplomacy set-up or do i have to follow the zoners diplomacy?

First thing's first. The Zoners are about a century old. They weren't around during old Earth. Also, no one survived the Nomad attack on Sol*, nor were there any infestees from the Nomads who attacked Sol (who were not, by the way, Sirius Nomads). First contact with the Nomads involved the Suncrusher wiping the place clean.
If Zoner scientists were taken as hosts for Nomad incubi, one of two things happens. One, they remain in their position and don't act any differently save subtle changes to benefit the Nomads, and kill themselves if discovered and escape is impossible. Two, they go on a rampage and slay the enemies of the Nomads.
The former can be done to some extent as an indie, though you need to work with the existing Nomad players. Ironwatsas had Iazyne Aezali, a scientist who hung around areas related to Nomad research and helped keep humanity in the dark about anything useful, as well as passing along information (all Nomads are linked to each others minds- what one sees, all can see).
The latter requires a terrorist type ID. Since it'd be infested peeps, it means Wild ID. Since there are exactly two factions with a Wild ID and one of them is of the "discrete and sneaky" variety, that means Das Wilde, which is already an official faction. Before you ask, it's invite only.
I notice you've been around for almost a year, but I suggest you read the Nomad Lore. If you have specific questions, ask them.
Also, I'd have thought you knew how factions worked by now... if you want to make a faction, you just make it within existing parameters (pick an ID, follow that ID even if it isn't quite what you're RPing). If you want to get your own ID, you need to have been official for some time and make a significant contribution to discovery's lore. That starts with an request in the Faction Creation Requests subforum, and all the requirements for posting there.
There are no ninja-faction creations. You do not PM an admin with this kind of thing, you put it forward to the community as a whole, as you'll be playing with the community as a whole.
*Before anyone says "Atticus Rockford", he doesn't count. Either he died along the way, wasn't believed, or was a part of the original Order of Cinncinatus, all of which would fall under either A) irrelevance or B) the Omega classification protocol (same thing is used for Valhalla). He's of no concern either way.
I know the nomad lore, but i wanted to RP something different. That a early nomad got discovered u know and that it was being experimented with etc etc..But i have to follow an id apperently...So i will think about it. Thanks soveriegn, very helpfull!
1 last question remains:
how do i do it now? Just pick an ID/faction, then a tag/name and start playing it? Or i have to do previous things first before i can do that?

No. They weren't. They were first discovered by a Rheinland research team shortly prior to the Nomad War. That research team was killed or infested to a man, and no one else suspected anything until the SP campaign started up. The only Nomad research that was going on was under the supervision of the Nomads themselves (including the construction of Altair).* Nomad research since then has been difficult, as Nomads can kill their physical forms quite quickly without any serious harm to themselves. "Captured and contained live Nomads" is the sort of thing people fight wars over.
RPing in a way contradictory to the Nomad Lore is just like RPing in a way contradictory to, say, the fact that Liberty and Rheinland are at war. Go in a slightly different direction, or have a new take on things? Cool! Pretend it isn't there? Not so cool.
*Before anyone says "Hellfire Legion", that counts as "under the supervision of the Nomads themselves". Mindshare and all that. The Legion wasn't doing research into how to beat them, but rather into stuff that the Nomads wanted to know too. Mutually beneficial arrangement.

If i have a zoners-ID/rep...can my faction still be hostile with a faction whats neutral for the zoners? Or i have to do exactly as the zoners rep tells me?
Ok, i would prefere my faction to have the zoners affiliation and the following diplomacy(Many of this diplomacy matches the zoners standard rep, but there are a few more negativity in this one because we arent 100% human. We are part human and part..something..Because of the nomad blast an underground research base in the far corner of the system got terribly dmged and all those liquids, diseases(like cancer, flue etc), and other matters got all on the scientists, guard etc. +the radiation of course what the nomads made cause of that blast. This is the diplomacy i made: (would this diplomacy be valid?)
Allied: Zoners, Order, GMG.
Neutral: All others.
Hostile: Liberty Rogues, GC, Lance hackers, Black Dragons.
Unfriendly(meaning we arnt hostile, but these people do not prefere we being near them..
The way how someone reacts on us is pure out of own opinion because we are still not human, and
they had enough problems with not-humanoids.):
Liberty Lawfulls, Rheinland lawfulls.
War: Coalition, Das Wilde, Nomads, Phantoms, Outcasts, GRN, RoS.
The factions we are hostile to where the zoners are neutral to: we will just improvise it you know, like with outcasts and nomads. Outcasts see nomads as red but they arnt red. So we will see for example the outcasts as white, but we act red.
But this DOESNT effect the fact of outcasts docking permissions on zoner bases, the zoners themselves stay out the war my faction has with the outcasts.
So again: Would this be possible to have as faction diplomacy? Or i would have to build it up?
You'd have to build it up. And you'd have to build it up through several different avenues.
1) Communications Channel and talks with the Outcast governmental body on the forums. RP them out as breaking away from the Outcast government, and also differentiating yourself from other regular Zoners in that you don't get standard Zoners in trouble with Outcasts. This should be done first.
2) In-game rep sheet should be set to hostile to the outcasts. This you can do by simply taking missions against Outcasts, or by killing enough of their NPCs to be set as hostile.
3) In-game actions. Your RP must match your rep-sheet and must match your forum RP. Keep to a set story and it should work out.
What you SHOULD be doing is working on a complete, tightly knit, well thought out history and story behind this faction you wish to create. You also need to insert yourself into DISCOVERY CANON as it's much more difficult to establish non-canonical RP that it was in the old days.
Take a look at of the Discovery Official Faction Status pages and you can see what a real faction proposal should encompass. Note that almost all of the examples in this thread (60+ mind you) all have some common elements.
-Well defined history, encompassing Discovery canon
-Well defined ship/weapons allowances, negotiated beforehand with the requisite factions
-Well defined reputation lists, negotiated beforehand with faction heads
There are some others, but these three main points are what you need to get your foot in the door (and 500m paid to the admins).
Even if you have all of this, it does NOT mean you're in. You will still most-likely get ripped to shreds by the jackals of the community. Some will honestly be trying to help you craft a better proposal which will fit in with Discovery and it's other factions. Take these bits of advice to heart and work with them...you're not always going to be right. The helpful members' opinions will be very easy to spot within the melee that trolls seem to produce, just ignore the ones blatantly trying to up their post count.
In a nutshell, a LOT of work needs to go on behind the scenes before you should consider putting your ideas out for the community. Get your ducks in a row first, research current NPC factions as well as player factions to determine what is and is not allowed in the way of relations and story, and when you're ready, present your idea to the community with the fore-knowledge that you WILL have to change it.

The reason why the hostility from the outcasts is cause they support the nomads who we hate. And the outcast allieds dont like us either.
Reason why liberty and rheinland dont like us is cause we are part human and part something else(different mixed things of diseases, sicknesses, and other matters) and cause liberty and rheinland suffered heavy in the nomad attack: They are watching out with us.
But we will build it up then, we will play it like we just arrived and will fly around and stuff and we shall see where it brings us.
I will start with investigating the time lines of different houses and the overal time line, and the page you have sended. In he meanwhile i will set up my character and soon we will hopefully have a nice spot in the community:)Im going to do the best i can.

Its prefered you got good skills in fighting, not cause we are lolwutters but because we are part human part "Something" and we have increased reflexes and stuff. I will post some time our biological substance but first things first.
