Implementing new patrol paths in created systems is a huge amount more work. Again, the object of Discovery
is in it's name, doesn't take that long in a new system to find everything there is to see.
If it a guard system, well you should be thinking twice about going in there if you are hostile anyway. The
faction isn't going to be giving their maps out to all and sundry
If its a PC faction home system, the same will apply, possibly you are not welcome there either. Mapping that
comes down to timing ...

Hood! I wanted to tell the Robotech (gotta love those varitechs, I wanted to have one when I was 10) fan that the Discovery System designers are evil people that love to give the players a reason to have nightmares. /sarcasm
Oh well! However, there are no visible patrols on purpose, has something to do with the Magick of Discovery.:P

Realistically, the reasons most new systems lack patrols, is because a patrol is 80% probable to cause Freelancer to crash when the mod is activated. Instead we use Population Zones. They do the same thing as patrols, except the ships don't have a specific route they follow, they just appear and fly off.
i recon they sould make a nice little prison system with noway in or out and tons of battleships flying about
i tryed making a system and put patrol paths in and it sort of caused all sorts of things to go wrong the main being it basically destroyed my computer
hmmm....sounds like a scew up on the main development side...retarded microsoft....
And not all patrol paths on main systems actually take you to something cool half the time it just takes you to a dead end or corner only to have to fly to the end of the next one, so i dont think it would lead away from 'discovery' that much.
Anyway I was just wondering cause it felt incomplete.
The idea has been suggested, I am working on one:)Having trouble with patrols though and assigning BSes to factions so they don't kill eachother... Nothing like a system with a constant radiation cloud and omega 5 asteroids with the only sun a neutron star. In addition to that BS patrols everywhere that are Nomad and The Wild. Gbs, Cruisers, fighters etc...
But I am having trouble assigning factions to the ships and getting the patrols to even appear. The other stuff I am working on...
