1. contrast. the sun is supposed to be bright, so go ahead and crank up the brightness levels on the sun.
2. shadows and highlights- the planet's side that is facing the sun should be brighter than the side that is pointing away from the sun.
3. the background is monotonous and boring. perhaps increasing the levels of the entire picture might help, or adding a nebula? sure, space is mostly black with spots of white representing stars, doesnt mean an image cant be over the top?
4. you should work with a bigger canvas to allow you to expand and include more details.
