I would support super transports being made into cruiser strength vessels, but the following changes would need to happen.
1; They would need to lose their thrusters.
2; they would need to lose exemption from the four hour rule entirely.
3; Slow these new cruiser strength super transports to 300m/s cruise speed.
4; pirates be allowed to pirate with destroyers as backup.

Additionally, note that I've never been a fan of "capital ships can't shoot transports."
That's rules mucking with RP, and that can instantly ruin immersion. Also, it doesn't make sense.
Traders just naturally Q_Q.
And there's a reason for that.

And there's a reason for that.
You know the best part about this mod was in 4.83 with the Planet Harris trade-run which consisted a distance of 700 meters.
You got one system full with thirty or more traders going back and forth like ants carrying leafs back to their home. Then you got the predators, the pirates coming over there not only fighting the traders who they are trying to mug but also the competition that is provided by the other pirates.
Good times. Sure, it was stupid and way too simple, but it was hella lot of fun.

1: Maneuvering into the right angle for docking is bad enough with thrusters :/
2: rather nice, and better for RP - except for people that trade just to make cash which makes up for most traders.
3: Guess that wouldn't make too much of a difference cause most traders use lanes... and running away from pirates won't be necessary with your new trading turned killing machine
4: Fun - an actual use for that Rheinland Pirate Cruiser:D
