//THIS IS NOT IN RP AT ALL, I WROTE IT BECUASE I WAS BORED!!
With a bang, the door of the office slammed shut. Three important looking men sat quietly, one dressed in a suit, the other's in military dress. Behind the expensive desk stood President Powell, looking tired yet determined.
A scientist carrying a large case stood to one side, but moved forwards at the Presidents beckoning. He slid the heavy case onto the desk, and unclipped the two heavy duty clasps. All 4 men in the room lent forwards. With a small smile the scientist hefted the lid back, revealing a small purple object, glowing slightly.
The scientist looked up at the men.
"We have it."

Seth yawned as he awoke to the steady thrum of the San Francisco. Sonya moved slightly next to him, the covers rustling slightly as she turned over.
"Whattimeizt?" she mumbled slightly, and Seth chuckled as he responded.
"0500 hours. Go back to sleep".
She cursed softly at him, and rolled over, her arms wrapping around the pillow as she tried to get back to sleep. Smiling slightly, Seth dressed quietly before leaving the room and walking down the corridor to the bridge.
"Good morning Captain."
"Good morning Silvia, anything new?"
Lieutenant Silvia Jones handed Seth a large cup of coffee from the galley down the hall, before reading off a small neural net device.
"Engine Room reports that they need a large multi-positron spectrometer for measurements on Hades, request was sent to Juneau at 2300 hours last night, they responded that we could collect it from Norfolk, and that we were a giant pain."
Seth smiled at that one.
"Docking Chief Harrison has asked you to meet him at some point this morning. Something about new bomber cannons from High Command. And finally, the Med Bay is running low on Henatrixapin. Doctor Jameson says that we need to pick some up within a week."
Seth nodded, jotting the notes down on his own pad.
"Thank you Silvia."
Silvia smartly saluted and walked out of the bridge, heading to her office down the hallway. Seth strode to the middle of the bridge and walked up the raised dias where his seat sat, allowing him to see in all directions easily. He sat down, placing his coffee onto the desk next to him.
"Morning all" he said, receiving some scattered 'morning sir's and nods from his bridge crew.
The screen beeped.
Seth looked up with a raised eyebrow, seeing the screen swirl into a transmission message. He pressed a small button on his keypad, and the screen materialised into the image of Admiral Hale. Seth immediatly stood and saluted.
"Sir!"
Hale nodded.
"You are to bring the San Francisco to Zone 21 immediately Captain."
Seth nodded, turning to his ensign.
"Ensign Yaris, give the order to charge Hades."
His eyes flicked back up to the screen.
"We'll be there in a moment sir."
Hale nodded, and the screen turned black.
In space around the massive Dreadnought, the two cruisers Golden Gate and San Jose moved in close, their bulks small compared to the San Francisco. A split second later the command code was asked for.
"Seth Alpha Alpha 9 Tetra Red" muttered Seth. "All hands, this is the Captain. Hold onto your hair."
He looked down on the navigator and 2 tacticians standing around the large positioning system table that showed the locations of every ship in the San Francisco fleet, along with every enemy ship on radar. He gripped the arms of his chair as the whine began to build into a crescendo, before it exploding outwards in a roar of white light.
Then they were falling, down, down, down, and then out again. Normal space appeared around them, and the radars shrieked red. He looked at the table below, and saw red signals all around them, along with 1 large blue signal. A friendly ship.
"It's just the mines." muttered one of the Tacticians, adjusting something on the table's sides and shutting off the beeping alarm. The red dots faded, leaving only a friendly signal remaining. They had managed to jump directly inside of Zone 21.
"This is the LNS Durango to the LNS San Francisco. Captain Karlo, prepare to fly over to the Durango."
Seth blinked once, before responding.
"Confirmed, a shuttle is leaving now."
Seth stood.
"Commander Londin, the San Francisco is in your hands until Commander Kellis awakens."
Commander Londin, one of the tacticians by the table, nodded, and took the second in command chair, positioned to the left of Seth's.
Seth sighed as he walked along the halls, wondering what was happening. He arrived in the docking bay, and motioned for his docking Chief to unload one of the Grizzly's from their parking bay. A second later, a door 200 feet above Seth's head slid open with large bangs, and the shuttle slid gracefully out of it, floating down to rest near Seth. He walked forwards, and one of the pilots ran ahead of him, opening the door and entering the cockpit.
One of the chairs took Seth's weight as the shuttle took off, passing into the launch bay and then into space. Within a few seconds, they were docking on the second dreadnought.
Minutes later he was in an office with the President and the Admiral.
"Captain, please, take a seat."
He did, and the President held up a glowing purple artifact.
"This is an artifact of the Dom Ka Vosh. Specifically, it is the artifact that triggered massive wars in the colonies 18 years ago."
Seth gulped.
"Now, 4 Liberty Security Force members infiltrated the Order and managed to recover this artifact, but not without losses, only one of them returned."
Here, he placed the artifact on the desk and pointed at a screen behind him. A large silver dot appeared on a map of Sirius.
"That." Powell said, pointing. "Is a supergate. A gate powerful enough to transport ships to a new part of the galaxy instantly, and this," he pointed at the artifact. "This is the key to it."
Here Hale took over.
"What you're going to do Captain, is take the San Francisco and her fleet through it, accompanied by scientists, explorers, fuel ships. Your task is to explore, to find out whether the other side of this gate is something we can use, perhaps expand into."
