Callahan looked back at the woman, then started tinkering with the little gadget thingy, he ordered another drink, and looked at the rookie sitting on the floor while moving his head left and right and smiling a bit.
Razor says "Probably not." and tinkers with the gadget some more. "Waitress!" "I would like some more coffee." - "Coming right up." Looks at the rookie again, then the man that came in last, after getting his coffee he takes a sip and tinkers with the gadget again.
"That damn buzzing is still there. What the hell can it be...."
Hull ran thru the list of times it went off.
None of them were pleasant....
Only 2 other times was it louder than what was going off in his head right now.........
Once, Out in Sigma 13, when the freighter I had shipped out on after my 18th birthday had been attacked, and had been caught under a collapsing bulkhead that had smashed my skull....
The Blue apparition that had found me....it came right up and touched me for a moment, but then it backed off, leaving me for dead. After it had touched me, the buzzing started. It slacked off in volume as it withdrew....
The other time when he had Mental contact with Miranda, a worshiper of the Nomads........
The Docs tried to tell me that it was the Polycarbonate/Metal bone replacement material that was in my skull. Apparently the seam where it met his regular bone had formed a junction, just like a Diode. The Doctors had told him something like this may occur, but they had no idea...Rumor was after being touched like that... I would always be "sensitive" to things going on around me.....
His friend Jason had kidded him that he wouldn't be able to go thru a metal detector too easily....
Pulling himself back to the moment, Hull discreetly touched his personal communicator, keying in a preset..and transmitted it...
The next thing he took stock of as what firepower he had on him... and remembered the weight under his left armpit.
Jason always told me "Don't leave home without it"....

Norman looks up, and puts down his hot-coco.
He sighed, said "Bloody nutters the load of ya. Call me if you need me." and with that out of the way returned to his hot-coco.
Seymore slowly walked backwards, toward the door of Sunbucks Cafe, trying not to attract attention. All eyes were on the strange woman, and Chief. Hull was holding his head, in some sort of pain. Maskage sat alone at a table, hands nowhere in sight, looking too cool for the situation. A gentleman sauntered past him, went to the counter to order coffee, and then proceeded to play with a strange device of his own. The woman, beautiful if not dangerous, appeared to recognize him.
What in the name of all that is pure and holy is going on here, he screamed to himself. The gentlemen furiously worked over the device in his hands and then attempted to leave the cafe.
"You're not going anywhere sir," Seymore commanded. He motioned toward the woman. "You're going to stand right over there by the woman, until we figure out just what in blazes is going on here."
Seymore grabbed his tazer to help convince the gentleman to comply. He turned on the power and felt...nothing. He couldn't feel the soft hum of power that gently vibrated in his hand, telling him the tazer was working.
The gentleman looked back at the woman, and then back at Seymore...and then smiled.
Norman continued to observe what was going on, and took out his own tazer and tinkered with it for a while. After setting it to Toast-Mode and fumbling with his PDA for a while, having seen enough of Seymore's *eherm* technical difficulites he yelled "Heads up!" as he threw the tazer to Seymore.
Razor looked at the man and said "Better make it quick" he stood next to the woman and looked at her giving her a single nod, but not even he knew why, the Officers looked at him like they would look at a suspect but he is a Bounty Hunter after all.
