I just bought a new PC after a long time dreaming of it. And on a paper, its good, at least for what I can afford, but I tend to have miserable luck with hardware, and something is always broken. This time, I'm suspecting my graphics card.
That is what I get after the PC is working after a while. And not just ingame, but everywhere, on the desktop, forums, all over the place. When I restart it, all is good for a few hours, depending on what I'm doing. If I play a game, it takes less time for the pixel bugs to appear.
My graphics card is Radeon's HD 5770 Sapphire and my monitor is Samsung SyncMaster 940N (I'm suspecting the monitor could be the issue here since its an oldy, or at least I'm hoping its the monitor). And I have Windows 7 32-bit on since 64 caused me more problems then I have the will to describe so I'll wait on that for a few months. But the pixel bug appeared both on the 32 and 64-bit version.
So, what could be the problem? Anyone have a solution besides taking the card back to the shop? Since how things are here, it will take 3-4 weeks before I get a new one or get this one repaired. Help?
450W is the power of my PSU. But I don't think that should be a problem, since if there weren't enough power, the PC wouldn't start in the first place. But then again, I don't know that much about these things.
Sorry, to clear everything up in one shot, could you give me your PC's spec's?(CPU, RAM, Motherboard, etc)
Also, the PC can start even with less, depending on your power source and actual components, but performance would be damaged, and on very high outputs(sometimes very low in some cases too) it might damage the components themselves
I had this with a dual core, but it came with popping/cracking sounds in the speakers when the video card was put to harder labor.
Any strange noises in your speakers, somehow?
No cracking sound in the speakers, not that I'm aware of anyways. But haven't played anything really, since this pixel bug is annoying the hell out of me and destroys any will to play something.
Ok then.I suggest a fresh install of 7.You could even try installing Xp first, since it has less requirements, install all the drivers, play some, see if it comes up again. If it still comes up after doing this, your GPU might be damaged.
