[color=#000000]Gallic Metal Service (GMS) was formed in 398 A.S. by joining several mining companies operating in Gallia space. With over 50% of its stake controlled by the government, GMS is a highly conservative organization that secures old traditions and cares well for its employees and their families. While work on mining operations planetside and in space can is very dangerous, high salaries and extensive social services are attractive enough for many colonists who seek a better life and have no desire to join unlawful groups. Many GMS employees and even high-ranking officers have sympathy towards the goals of the Council, but to protect their business in the government-controlled economy of Gallia they have to avoid any dealings with the Council or its allies.
[color=#000000]Current goals
[color=#000000]At this moment, Gallic Metal Service is intrested in retaining exlusive right for mining operations planetside or in space. However, as Gallia is nearly mined out, currently GMS is looking for new sources of metals. Due to recent reports to our "friends" in the Council, there're minerals in Taus, but we'll have to deal with local miners somehow. We'll send few missions there later, we need to have a talk with the Council and the Maquis at first, to ensure they won't shoot our backs. Of course, Navy shouldn't know. We also care highly for our public reputation, because GMS isn't cruel or corupt.
[color=#000000]Guidelines
[color=#000000]1. Be polite with others. And others will be nice with you, oui.
2. Don't be afraid to pay pirates. You'll get paycheck alive, but not dead.
3. Don't mention your pro-Council stanse if you have one, to Royalists. That would cause huge problems for us.
4. Don't be afraid to forward your problems to the Directorate. We don't want you to die because of some disease slowly!
5. Learn English. Some people say me the most Sirrians can speak it, so...to make our lives and contacts easier... And general education, yes.
6. Relax. We're here to have fun and to make as much money as possible without getting in trouble.
[color=#000000]
[color=#000000]Organization
[color=#000000]GMS is controlled by a directorate, currently consisting of 4 members, where one of the members is a chairman. Its task is to lead the faction and its operations. Faction is divided into 2 divisions: Transport and Escort. Each division has its own leader, which makes the organization easier. GMS has its own diplomat, who manages relations with other factions.
[color=#000000]Equipment used
[color=#000000]Ships
[color=#000000] "Moonbeam" and "Sunbeam" class light and heavy fighters will be used to ensure safety of our convoys. In rare occasions, it'll be possible to see "Cougars", due to recent encouters with Gallic Brigands gunboats. VIPs will fly "Servals", which are quite superior to "Sunbeams" & "Moonbeams", but are restricted as Navy fighter. We also have few mining ships in fleet, however they aren't used at the moment, as Gallic resources are dried up. "Vaches" will be used for transportation on long distances, "Aurochs" for shorter ones. Also, we posses low number of heavy & light lifters, repair ship. That's all.
[color=#000000]Weapons
[color=#000000]
As for weapons... I believe "Pot-de-Fer" and "Carbine" series should fit us. However, on VIP ships maybe we'll ask for Navy weapons, because they're working better with those. [color=#000000]GMS is using high-tech mining emmiters that duplicates the effectivness of mining. This technology is mounted on both Transports and Fighers. Thanks to this, GMS can mine faster and in bigger amounts.
[color=#000000]Scanners and software
[color=#000000]
Our ships will use "Discovery" series scanner usually. They help us to avoid unwanted encounters with pirates sometimes. GMS ID, IFF and onboard software applies. Our name in space should be seen as:
[color=#000000]Transports: GMS|Name (Names should be of French origin) Escorts: GMS|Firstname.Lastname[color=#000000] [color=#000000] (Usually French / Saxon origin)
[color=#ffffff][color=#000000]Diplomacy [color=#000000](Revision written and edited by employee Marco Montague)
Gallic Royal Navy.
They're our official protectors, however they'll shoot our back if they hear anything pro-Council. We trust them in anything untill politics discussions.
Gallic Royal Police.
Officially, they're our protectors as well. Unfortunately, we don't trust them much. They say Police constables are pirating, actually. Politics with them to be avoided as well. If they say to bow to King, bow to him, but don't be too...busy with that.
Gallic corporations.
They're the same civilians as we are. As we have monopoly on mining in Gallia, we have no business with them as this moment. We only order resources for our bases from them usually..
[color=#ffffff]The Council.
Possibly, new goverment of Gallia. They're currently busy fighting war with Charles XI, but we like them. We'll have to deal with them in Taus, quite possibly. Avoid any firing on them. If Aristocrat orders you to do so, get some reason not to do this.
Sirrians.
Ignore them. That's not our business, they're the same people as we are and we shouldn't waste our time on them. However, report those to Alesia, so we'll conduct a little statistics. Of course, it won't concern Navy. However if you see anything bigger then fighter (exept transports, profile is enough easy to recognize), then call in Royalists. We don't want our country to be ruined again!
The Maquis.
Not sure what to say. We have to avoid contacts with them as well, but here caution is advised. They're dangerous terrorists and -maybe- anarchists. We'll have some words with them later.
The Unione Course.
We have some contacts between us, but I advise high caution. We don't intrude in their business, but their attacks are unexpected usually.
The Gallic Brigands.
Simple pirates. They claim they're freedom fighters: don't trust them! Run if you can, call in help if you can't. I hope you won't call GRP for help, of course? Or they'll work together. The worst people to contact with. Ah, yes. If you can't escape, pay them. Pay them, because I don't want to hear GMS doesn't care about it's workers.
Independant Pirates
While we can't detect them, shouldn't expect piracy only from Gallic Brigands. There're several quite well-known pirate groups, like those "Les Vampires", for example. Guidelines applied to Gallic Brigands follow, though..
If this is ever going to be an official proposal (You're right now explaining who you are, yes?) then you might want to fleshen it out and mention the topics you're supposed to mention in a status thread.
Also, I'd make it clear that your current diplomacy is the NPC diplomacy, not the PC.
GMS is at least in theory sending the Council stuff under the table. I've made the diplomacy of the Maquis take this into account, giving you a light tax while blatantly announcing to the system that we're attacking you for the purposes of maintaining the masquerade. Do you plan to play by this, or will you go for a more loyalist approach?
That said, it's great to see people trading in Gallia. See you in space.

I'll try to do business with the Council, but we have to watch out for Royalists.
We'll try to conduct our business carefully, because one wrong word and corporation gets new Board of Directors, instead of us;)
With .86, we'll get significant activity bump, I believe. Right now, we haven't finished everything yet.
According to Igiss storyline, we won't attack IMG in Taus. Meh. I thought to mine something there:)
I'll try to create something.
Alright, covert dealings is good. Be on your guard, and expect to face stiff consequences if you mess up. I look forward to pirating you (however gently).
