Pirates aren't getting dumber. The real pirates, the ones that RP are still here. It's just that all the silent power traders got enough money for Tridentes and bombers.
' Wrote:It's more that a lot of pirates are very very predictable. For instance, Galileo seems to attract lots of pirates but not Kepler - which way is easier AND safer? The Sigmas are also usually pirate free. They mostly seem to sit along ore routes these days.
Of course, it seems less about pirate activity and more about general trends. Fun piracy attempts are always nice.
True story. You just described exactly where I trade. If Colorado has a pirate, I go to the Sigmas. If the Sigmas have a pirate, I go through either Kepler or Galileo, depending on which side has pirates. For some reason, though, everyone and his mother takes Galileo. Why? It's beyond me. It seems that there has been fewer independent solutions presented and more "Everyone should be nicer". I don't like it.
And then, of course, there's the part where pirates do catch people, and instead of RP with the person (which is really your best chance at survival), a trader whines or just asks "How much." Worst way to get rid of a pirate ever. Because of RP, I've always been able to escape or the Police have gotten there and I got away or I've dropped the price substantially. This solution is never presented to a trader anymore, either. It's just "Pirates should be nicer".
Irking.

Try me getting pirated in Munich, I had 4800 Gold Ore and was told to drop ALL of it...That is a good hour or more of work I lost. Tell me I wasnt mad :nono:

Depends, if you were in Interspace transport I wouldn't be surprised that locals did clear your hold
If it was pure piracy then:
Was it excessive? yes
Could you have avoid it? Probably yes
If you can't handle 80 million worth of cargo or the risk of loosing it I would suggest to change the job, start with something smaller
I lost full load of silver ore worth 65 million back in October when I started and I was also mad at the pirates until I realized It was me who was not cautious enough.
Edit: Thinking of that bit further It is a really bad example from the pirate. If every pirate starts taking all the cargo without RP reason behind it it will cause traders just to ignore pirates and possible RP involved as the result would always be empty cargo hold

Been there. I was how ever lucky, and 3 RM were in next system,so i delayed with a ton of RP,and yelled help to RM in private. Then when pirate opened up,i did non stop firing to keep him busy waiting for RM. Sure enough they showed up just in time, and 1 cruiser,1 GB,and 1 snub did the pirate good and fast.
Truly though. This is almost never RP,and just plain mean.
