Again, I have been told that this is not good to replace Trenton. It is told to be a design like: Long (horizontal), thicker, depots, and few docking points.
However, bad news is - I dont have my PC. I - or you all - have to wait till I make something much better than a vertical base.
Nevertheless, Instead of putting hangars for trains - I would think of putting Moors - like clamps to hold the train while it loads and off-loads. But that is just my opinion.
This base is not replacing Trenton. Igiss said no. It's going in orbit of California Minor.
Also, apologies for being unclear Luis, the model is not symmetrical, so it would be impossible to make the ring spin. You need to seperate a quarter of the base and then mirror it twice. When I attempted to do so, the way the faces had either been made or welded together meant I was unable to split it effectively which led to double faces.
This points out my inexperience in cutting faces in two and deleting double faces as much as it shows the symmetrical flaws in the model, but even if I had deleted the extra faces, the model no longer lined up to itself, again due to symmetry issues.
Luis, any updates? The mad cash is still up for grabs if we can get it in the update.
Two things, if things can progress:
1) we don't need nor do we want the ring to spin, though we do love the ring itself.
2) the "moors" idea (as portrayed in the original model) was great -- please keep it.
I'm more in favour of remodelling trenton with a similar shape than adding a new one, almost needlessly. Also this model seems a bit too different, though a nice model. Seth's rebuild, though poorer quality.
1) We would like another base (we only have one outside Minnesota, which doesn't really count or make sense), 2) the mod could use a bit of freshness in terms of *new* station models (and not just combinations of old parts into something new), and 3) we put up $500 million to whomever could get it done on time.
Hopefully Luis and Seth can team up for an all-star effort, but it is, to be fair, open to anyone who can manage to get a finished product into 4.86.
Really? No takers for [size=medium]<span style="font-size:18pt;line-height:100%]half a billion credits?
Seth?
Luis?
I mean, seriously all you gotta do is fix the mesh (if it needs it), skin it, and place it in the system. We have the associated files just about ready to go (including commodities, equipment, and various rumors/bar stuff). Not to mention a formatted infocard just waiting for a place.
