We can't go down the #2 route, as the player limit is 200. Also, People have MULTIPLE characters in MANY different factions and groups. Unless you want to restrict people to only being able to be part of one official faction.... and that's not going to go over well.

Additionally, some of us have Families / Lives / Jobs / Responsibilities and other things we need to do and can't sit and play on a computer all day long to defend a little patch of space.
EVE is EVE. Disco is Disco.

to be perfectly fair, in EVE you can have up to 3 chars on an account and put them all in different groups. Many people use this to spy and sabotage ^^

Wait untill your corporation get spied, sabotaged and stolen by a person you though was an ally. Then, you won't find EVE to be so enjoyable...

EVE was made to work nicely with 50000+ players. With unless 200 players, you'd get quite a lot of crap, hatred, etc. I personally wouldn't trust anyone. And waking up at 5am because someone is raiding my base doesn't interest me.

I'd leave disco if this place turns into a wannabee EVE.

I agree with Thexare.

One thing I would love to see is quicker small story updates. I understand an update is a massive undertaking, I am not asking for that. I am asking for player development of their faction to be more responsive, via small updates that reflect the new development.

I do not support changes based on player development that remove another faction because one faction has more players and thus can destroy the other in PvP. I leave the death of factions up to Igiss.

I myself would love to see the ID system and Guard system reworked to better fit an RP server. I'd be willing to do the foot work along with a few others that share my feelings on the ID/Guard system, system.

Yes, idea two, Discovery should be built around the players RPing, not the devs and their descending hand of God dictating everything that happens. However, with this, I do believe there should be certain limits, I haven't thought on -this- yet.

Want to know why I think this way?

To stop things like Gallia happening, where the devs introduce something so wtfpwn powerful with no real reason other to stretch their epeens, all the while, making the players rage because they had little to no say in it.

To be clear, As has been said, over and over, we're squatting in Igiss's Mausoleum, drawing on the walls in crayon. That's how things are, and its rather frustrating, especially when the mausoleum sprouts a wing of non-euclidean geometry.

That said, I don't know anyone who's here because the mod has an amazing story. The story is, to put it plainly, a pile of poo that the community exists in spite of. We're here, and we exist, because we like one another. We like the things we make up in this little world, we like drawing on the walls. We're rather frustrated when it all gets wiped away, but none of us, so far, have had the attention span (or is that just me?) to actually build something to co-opt the playerbase out of disco for. Because that would be hard, because we like it here: there's even some silly persons who idolize Igiss. And he's put a lot of work into it, perhaps he deserves the idolization. Me, I idolize Zapp, who writes wonderfully and with great frequency.

I'm known well enough for my disgust in Gallia, guard systems, the economy, etc. But I'm still here.

Would I like option 2? Not as couched in this discussion, with battles deciding the fates of stations and systems.
1.3-1.7 would be nice, if the admins and the devs were the same apparatus, and the administration were to engage with the factions to organize story evolution based on a consensus of factions...but I'm not holding my breath.

I just think discovery needs to be flashy and vibrant. This game is great dont get me wrong its just there isn't any action. Its always blah blah blah, pew pew pew.

IDEAS:

Larger trade lanes so big ships can get through without jamming up.

Focus on making things easier. While making other things harder. I'd like to see more realistic stuff going on. Example: Hyper drives!(take lots of time to charge up)

Super weapons on caps with lots of anti fighter abilities( like controllable Npcs)

More stuff for fighters example they can move much faster than before.

Maybe bombers can get a actual EMP and be able to slow down ships for a short duration.

Certain OMGZ(Im gonna type it) ability for certain ships, and ability for certain factions. Kinda like slots for scanners and IDs, we needs slots for abilities. I dont mean go crazy on the abilities just make so there is more stuff going on.

I feel like this mod was made for old people. I'm gonna regret that last bit but dont tell me I'm the only person that thinks this game is additively boring. Change is good. Kiss me.
