I kind of like the idea of an admin group going on a rampage(like what they ran on BK server). Offer a bounty on the kills over universal chat as a news item. Say something like "The Governments of Sirius offer $20 million bounty for anyone who can help stop these terrible fiends."
You could have a Phantom or Wild group or something destroying everything in it's path, convoys, patrol groups, whatever(not planets;)) with announcements reporting their progress from an on the spot reporter.
The announcements would work like news, announcing what the group has destroyed and where their next target is expected to be.
I have to be honest... I logged on, flew around on patrol for a bit, saw an enemy and engaged. I really had no idea there was a bounty out on Blade (I even let him fire the first shot). I started to piece it together after hails of lasers came from every direction at him (including from a Xeno who completely disreguarded me), but it was just dumb luck that I happened to be there. Had I known it was an intergalactic man-hunt I probably would have stayed out-- I don't need the credits, I just like PvP. And I definitely don't want to be the next target, as I just started playing last week. I like the idea and all, but it seems unlikely in RP terms for so many conflicting factions to basically work together to kill one man... sorry to be devil's advocate, but maybe this idea is better suited for the PvP server?
BTW, Blade I appreciate the compliment, but you went head to head with a bomber... How did you not expect that to happen?
in a situation like this, the death of the hunteds is imminent if everyones guna hunt him. i wud say, how bout 2v1, noone can intercept the hunted when 2 people are already fighting him, they hunters cann use fighters and also, after every battle, the hunted gets a chance to dock, stock up on CM, CD/T and M and a 45 min break from the last fight. if he DOES get killed, he gets a chance to restock his supplies, gets a much longer break (id say bout 1 and a half-2 hours) and then the hunt continues.

Locke, a little contradictory there ? On the right lines.
From a roleplay point of view, those chasing the bounty should have a damn good RP reason to be hunting him,
otherwise it is a free for all ... Just the true enemies of the [Scythe] should have been allowed to participate.
Reading his Faction Status and ID, and your own, should tell you if you are in the ball park.
Personally, and factionwise, several of us could not get involved, as we had no ships that fitted the parameters.
Next time, maybe an admin edited ship .. Example 'Wild' .. could be used, as this would give a lot more people
the opportunity.
Then again is it just PvP chasing ? More thought to the story and roleplay next time maybe. Ant is closer there,
as I had experience of the events on BK too ... They made em red to everyone with an ongoing dialogue
throughout the whole event.

All I meant was that I enjoy the role of defending Rheinland space against the occassional non-npc. I apologize if I was supposed to stay out of the fight, I didn't realize the situation-- I guess I just need to get into the habit of reading the forums every other five seconds.
Locke, actually you had the perfect RP reason to get the cash, the contradiction was concerning your possible
PvP orientation, and then you suggesting it should go to the 'other' server ...
As to the forum piece, thats why I would like to see it done on the server, so everyone is made aware of the
quarry, and the hunt parameters, so no one has to come here to find out what is happening.
Apologies for the confusion.

Definately not the case... the sso| (Me and Mandy [AKA McNeo]) Were killing off everyone that was competing with us for the bounty, which were oddly, mainly unlawfuls.
I love the idea of high profile bounties on either a daily, or weekly basis. I do think it should be random by entry. And I also think it should be RP Restricted, IE if your ID says you can't claim it, you can't, if they are friendly or allies by faction status, or even faction infocards that should also prevent claiming. That way a wide array of people can be placed on bounties, and give all sorts of different people a chance. The random bounty should be picked from someone who is online during the in-game announcement, to give people a chance to start hunting him/her right then.
