You know, it sounds like people think that this blurb is all of the new text that will be added in Kusari for 4.86. It sounds like people think this is all we have written, particularly on the Ronin.
Please, people *cough* Tycho *cough*, get it through your heads that this is a SPOILER. There has been a LOT more discussion than just posting this up. There will be even more discussion of exact lore and implementation as we get closer to a 4.86 release. We're not done yet. Yes, the itsy bitsy paragraph on the Ronin is not enough to get itself an NPC faction and all that. You're absolutely right. That itsy bitsy paragraph, however, is a SPOILER and not EVERYTHING. Do you really think that the dev team is so incompetent, lazy, and corrupt that you can get yourself a new NPC faction by writing half a dozen sentences? Honestly, that's just insulting.
Also, as one of the Ronin| mercenary faction players (I think I'm actually listed as the leader on MercNet... >.<), I'm totally fine with the name of the KNF splinter faction. It's not like we were official, or even well known. Hell, look at MercNet, last I checked we don't have any kills logged there, and I think you can count our total number of bounties claimed with your fingers. Possibly just your thumbs.
Quote:I just had an idea of such faction the other day, calling them "Texas Cowboys" and styling them as racist rednecks. They'll occupy Bonn, Altona, Freiburg and Baden-Baden and will terrorize three systems like no tomorrow.
Pff, that'd never work. Mwerte is on the dev team, and he leads RepEx, so clearly the storyline will be guided such that Republican never gets weaker. Just like how Zelot is a dev and the Emperor of Kusari, so clearly nothing bad would ever happen to Kusari, especially its Emperor. You know, stuff like getting their fleets ravaged, internal struggles that remove the Emperor from power, the majority of the new ruling class leaving the Emperor to die at the hands of the Gallic Royal Navy, things like that. Never going to happen.
Quote:Some of the Kusari Naval Forces who escaped to Tau-29 and Kyushu were anxious to take revenge on Gallia as well, and to rescue their brethren left behind in Bretonia. However, their new commanders had other plans. Since Gallia had announced Liberty and Bretonia to be its only rivals in Sirius, the new Kusari government chose to enter into secret negotiations with Gallia. The House would withdraw most of its ships back to Kyushu, and no major battles between Gallia and Kusari took place from this moment onwards. After some minor skirmishes in the Tau-29 system that hardly cost any lives from either side, Gallia gained control of a large part of Tau-29.
Kusari now reported that the overwhelming aggression of Gallia did not leave the House any other choice than to sue for peace. This was Kusaris justification to Bretonia and the rest of Sirius for ending the war. (We cannot really blame Kusari since this justification would certainly prove a real one if Kusari were to bring its remaining exhausted forces to defend Tau-29). Kusari signed a peace treaty with Gallia in which Kusari would renounce any claims or plans of expansion in Tau sector, and acknowledge the Tau-29 system to be a buffer zone between the two Houses that would allow only minimal military and police presence to provide security for traders and civilians. Also, Kusari corporate traders were the first of all four "official" Houses who were allowed to purchase special passages and come to Gallic systems to trade with Gallic companies.
So i see Freeport 6 in TAU-29 will be kind of like Babylon V Station place of meetings negotiations and bar fights ?? Interesting...
Just wonder that way with Russilion and Tau117 and new Connections by Newcastle maybe... never mind....

Edit@ Tycho, sir, you really have no clue what you are talking about.
Then don't be passive aggressive, and answer without making thinly veiled insults. Seriously. It's NOT that hard. I was honestly wondering why the Ronin were mentioned in a form that seems otherwise unrelated to the Ronin I know of. That's why I posted, I wanted to know what was up.
Instead of answering openly, you go "lol I find it amusing that you do X," which is, to be blunt, passive aggressive and rude. How so? Because it's condescending, it means you consider my statement an object of amusement when it was serious. When I was being serious in my questions. I had to assume, because the information was not provided to do anything else.
All I wanted was an answer. I didn't want condescension. I didn't want your crap. I still don't.
"Things will not calm down, Daniel Jackson. They will, in fact, calm up."

What I want is for you not to assume that someone hasn't done what they should. Of course I talked to them, any person who was doing something like this would. I find it amusing, yes amusing, that you made two posts ranting that I didn't do something that I did. I find it amusing that without any knowledge about it, you would assume that I had done the wrong thing. May be thats where the passive aggressiveness comes from, from the fact that you dont find out things before yelling at people over them. Excuse me. I am so sorry, I am sorry that I found your comment amusing instead of insulting, which is what I probably should have found it.
Maybe I shouldn't be annoyed about being told I am taking a crap all over someone else, or maybe I am annoyed that you equated me with a Somali Pirate. I dont know why you are surprised when I responded to your question in exactly the same tone it was asked in.
Again ... you guys are forgeting the Zoners. Freeport 6 is on Tau 29. If there will be Gallic ships there what will be the rep with the zoners? Aes_Sidhe made a good point of making Freeport 6 like a neutral zone .. well ... all Freeports are neutral zones both for lawfulls and unlawfulls, but will give a even more important role to a base that most pass but don't dock. But we still need to know the role of the Zoners and what will happen to Freeport 6 and Freeport 10.
Take care all

Then say that. Don't be condescending. I never ranted until you made the insult. In fact, I never said anything about YOU until you responded to me. Perhaps the reason I came in here with assumptions was because no information was provided otherwise, leaving me to speculate. That's the purpose of leaving this thread open, is it not? To allow questions?
And I never said that you DID take a dump all over them, I ASKED whether or not it occurred. I ASKED the questions so that I wouldn't have to make assumptions. YOU chose to react the way you did. I never said that you DID dump on them, I asked whether or not the dumping occurred, so that I could make a proper judgment. YOU chose to react how you did.
myself Wrote:Don't the Ronin already exist as a primarily Kusari-based Merc group? Isn't this taking a dump all over them?
Note, a QUESTION, a gorram QUESTION, and YOU chose to misinterpret it. Not an accusation, a QUESTION. Not a rant, not a diatribe, not me pissing on you, A QUESTION, about whether or not the people in question were dumped on. It was answered sufficiently by Sovereign, whereas you chose to react by being condescending.
My second post was based on Hideki's post which claimed that the Ronin were inactive. My second post stated that, though the Ronin may be inactive, it would be rude to ignore them. It was a response to Hideki, and not an accusation addressed to you, Zelot, since I did not know until very recently that you were involved.
Furthermore, the Somalian pirate bit was again, NOT addressed to you, but a bitter reflection on the state of this community, in which courtesy seems to have just as much of a place as amongst Somalian pirates.
~~~~~~~
In summary, my first post was addressed to the people responsible for the change, and was a question about whether or not it occurred. The second post was addressed to Hideki and explains why, inactive or not, it's still rude to ignore a faction's RP. NOT an accusation addressed towards you.
You CANNOT blame me for this, because my question, which WAS addressed to you, had a neutral tone. I came in asking a question, not saying "YOU DID -insert accusation here-", it was an actual question.
You CANNOT go "WELL YOU SAID I SHAT ON PEOPLE, YOU EQUATED ME WITH A SOMALIAN PIRATE" because I did not. I asked whether or not these RP developments did the former, and made a bitter reflection on the state of the community with the latter.
So no, you shouldn't be insulted, because there was no insult in those first two posts. Maybe, POTENTIALLY, in the third. And you shouldn't be amused, because I did not post to amuse, I posted a serious question on the matter, and a serious retort to claims of Ronin inactivity, at least insofar as it pertains to the original question.
"Things will not calm down, Daniel Jackson. They will, in fact, calm up."
Because you are obviously not going to see that there was any inflammatory tone in your posts, and because I have better things to do with my time than deal with you, I shall leave you with a nice, formal,
