Lavinia took the glass, and sipped at it again, enjoying the taste. She blinked slowly, and looked at Kane, but didn't speak. After a moment, she took another sip from the glass.
A million dollars isn't cool. You know what is cool? A basilisk.
Eyes closed shut and lips locked with Lavinia, Kane moved his hand to the back of Lavinia's head and stroked it gently. Thoughts surged through his head as, for the first time in months, Kane felt happiness in his soul. He sat there for what seemed like an endless moment with Lavinia.
Lavinia smiled slightly, and let out a quiet, content sigh as Kane's hand ran through her hair. After nearly fifteen seconds, she pulled away slowly, before quickly hugging Kane as tight as she could, which wasn't very tight in her alcohol-affected state.
A million dollars isn't cool. You know what is cool? A basilisk.
Kane wrapped his arms around Lavinia. He relaxed his muscles and sighed happily. His thoughts of his jobs and duties in the Vagrant Raiders, along with all other thoughts in his head, disappeared. He was with someone he cared about now. That's all that mattered.
