"I believe it was 'saving her life' and not 'hassling her', if I recall correctly," he said loud enough for Catalina to hear. He sipped his beer again and smiled.
Lavinia looks across at Kane, and nods.
"Y-yeah..." She said, and pointed at Kane, and then X. "They...they saved my life, really..." She smiled, and turned around, revealing the strip of her back uncovered by armor, about 6 inches across, and the two circular plugsin her spine. For about 3 millimetres out from each plug, there was a lack of fur around the edge of each plug, and the skin was red, as if irritated.
A million dollars isn't cool. You know what is cool? A basilisk.
Kane walked over to the group. He switched his beer into his left hand and looked at Catalina.
"I don't think we ever got the pleasure to meet," he said. "Harold Kane, Taskmaster of the Vagrant Raiders." He extended his right arm for a handshake.
Kane chuckled. "Ah, yes, but that was before we saved her life and quite some time before tonight." He wrapped his right arm around Lavinia's shoulders and took a sip of his beer. He smiled at Catalina.
Lavinia blushed slightly, and rested her head lightly on Kane's shoulder with a small smile.
"Mm..yeah..." she muttered, the glow from her ears and eyes a shining blue as she looked over Cat.
