The premise of the original idea was a good one, it was just brought in a little too quickly without a bit more
research into the overall effect, and the usual 'loophole finders' trying for advantage.
Battleship balance and flying skill have now made it unnecessary. One less rule to complain about ...

Korrd, if this is now an official rule ... Could someone please change the thread to reflect this as soon as
possible.
There are people who only read that post, and not visit the rest of the forums. We have had enough trouble
with people trying to look for loopholes or just plain interpreting the rules. Thanks guys.

(Really, I speak terrible English, so please, tell me if I make mistakes. I'd like to improve it a bit )
= make battleships insanely expensive and nearly invincible as it was being discussed since looong ago... 1 torpedo bomber taking out a battleship? nah... Even the Bismarck needed some 5 hits to go down = at least 5 swordfishes, carrying 1 torp each.
Btw, what happened to the ammo-using torps? Maybe they could become anti-capship weapons again?
Blunt, a well-piloted bomber can take out an elite-piloted battleship. The loadout I have on my bomber can strip a BS shield in a couple passes. Well under a minute. Then its just nova runs. We've fought some good BS pilots in our days, like Wolfpack's Bstar Adv. when he still played, as well as 2 SF BSs all at once. Then about 5 other ships (3 caps and 2 fighters). We had 3 bombers. If we can take out all those things, the bomber can easily take a single BS on its own. It really doesn't matter how good the BS pilot is. The BS simply CAN NOT target a bomber very well at all, especially if the person flying is good with it. With the amount of regens of bots/batts they have, they can take a BS down long before they are dead.
This is why alot of people didn't want bombers having respawns.

This does not equate to one bomber taking one BS. This would have been an example of good coordination and teamwork on your part. The 3 bombers, working in concert could easily do this, concentrating fire on one enemy at a time. A single bomber wouldn't be able to pin down a single battleship as easily.
Now, there is still the problem of the whoring of the big guns.
There's plenty evidence for it in recent attacks upon the SCRA. Now, these people weren't doing anything wrong, but perhaps something should be done to alter this?
I think that maybe removing shields from the huge ships, but making the armour thicker might work? No?
Blunt, I've beaten Korrd's BS with my bomber (and ask anyone who has fought his BS.. Its not easy) solo. Also against SA caps and SF caps. Its very much possible. Want to make a faction stop whoring caps, get some freaking bombers in your fleet. I can guarantee they will stop using BSs and cruisers and will either be in gunboats or fighters.
