Perhaps it is my timezone?
Honestly, I think the ones that ask for 10mil and all cargo deserve a sanction. 'Cause that's just a way to kill them just for the blue message.
Or, it could be phantom-wannabes. Or terrorist-wannabes. Either/Or.

A: We are getiing off-topic here, and
B: Pirates aren't nice people, they have every right to demand all your cargo, I had a whole shipment of gold ore jacked - 4695- after I had already paid 5 mill to one of the 2 pirates who were holding me up. Do I whine? No, I put a bounty on the transport that jacked me, and look for constructive ways to increase police play - this thread is one of them -.

do you mean the tax idea proposed here? Or pirate activity?
Because the tax idea is partly designed to increase police who will protect you from pirates.
Whereas Pirates are not trying to help traders, they just want money. (In RP)
And as for:
Quote:an already sorely taxed player group
You are a special case, I have never met anyone else who says they cant make any money because of piracy, but this tax is designed to help you with EXACTLY that problem.

I meant taxed in the sense of "strained", rather than monentary loss, although in this case the former may also be appropriate. But, frankly, Its easier to make money with a cargo pirate or a cap farming Missions, than trading anymore. I dont mind paying a reasonable fee, but many people forget that this is a game people play to have fun. Anyway, Ill go metagame the chat list, untag all my traders, and trade in the dead of night. Seems only logical.
Quote:Wait what. Hone are you suggesting the traders pay police/military factions a tax for escorts?
-_- Have you read this thread at all? If as I suspect, not, please do so, as your questions will be answered, and some people (Myself included) have spent quite a bit of effort posting.

*IN the dark-of-the-night - EVIL will find Youuu (doom you)
In the dark-of-the-night YOU'LL be MIIIINE!* ect.
But seriously, most traders are making plenty of money, and do you not think that if there were more lawfuls, you would be pirated less?
