Some days ago, on a standard patrol of the New York system, we ran into a group of Outcast Tridentes, equipped with lower grade armor upgrades and with generally dumb captains. Smarter pilots would realize when it's the time to save yourself, but they preferred it to stay in the area, well, their mistake I guess. We took care of them.
And today I ran into a random pirate flying one of those Red Hessian Bombers, I think that one is called Thor. Anyway, he was in the Newark area and I told him to vacate the area immediately, but of course I was being ignored. Guess it's no problem, after all he was just a little pirate and his behaviour earned him a nice explosion.

To whom it may concern;
My mandated Primary Fleet flight times of approximately eight hours have been completed and exceeded, and spent largely on border control or general patrol and escort duties.
As such, I now wish to be considered for promotion to Ensign by the appropriate management at their willing.
Should additional requirements be mandated I am eager to fulfil them.

Sirs, Ma'ams.
[color=#CCCCCC]Hell of an engagement last night.
The patrol started off normally, Lt.Cmdr Sius [Aboard the [LN]-LNS-MacArthur], Rct. McKenzie and I shifted to Manhattan to assist R.O Walker [LPI] in intercepting a Freelancer calling himself Repeater. Contact fled into the debris field behind the planet and we moved in pursuit. Once R.O Walker and I were in range we opened up on the Sabre.
And that's about where it all went to hell.
Numerous hostile signatures jumped in right on top us, including a Rogue Cruiser. Lt.Cmdr Sius radioed for reinforcements, despite being under heavy fire himself. We managed to hold long enough for reinforcements to arrive in the form of one of our Dreadnoughts, but the pirate forces just kept pouring in. The MacArthur was bought down by the concentrated fire of multiple hostile gunboats, as was Rct. McKenzie. The Dreadnought reported severe damage and I ordered it to fall back and repair, which triggered a barrage of fire from the hostiles. All forces were ordered to cover the Battleship's retreat, and R.O Walker was cut off from our fleet. Shortly after we attempted to break contact, sensors reported Walker's ship flaming out, followed by a large detonation. Still not sure how he did it, but it looked like Walker managed to take that Rogue Cruiser out of action as well.
Friendly reinforcements were waiting in Manhattan orbit, including another Dreadnought and a Carrier, which engaged the enemy as we came into view. They were too late to save our initial Battleship, which lit up shortly after we rounded the planet. From there, I lost track of targets. Despite targets and objectives being pointed out for them our forces fragmented and were being picked off one by one, on one occasion a Dreadnought holding position while a Carrier was torn apart less then a kilometre from it. At some point in the battle a Hellfire Legionnaire, Ryan Williams, arrived and began directing the fire of the hostile fleet, finishing off what remained of our capital support.
With our forces taking heavy losses, I ordered all ships with drive systems to regroup at West Point. Again, I was ignored. Besides my Executioner, one ship complied with the order. As far as I can determine, all other friendly vessels that were in Manhattan orbit are now destroyed or missing.
That's where I contacted the Legionnaire. Figured that if I could arrange a meeting between West Point and Manhattan he might have been able to call them off, or at least pull them somewhere less damaging to civilians. LPI Officer Matthew.Scott did nothing to help the situation when he insisted on opening fire on Williams mid-negotiations, again despite orders to the contrary. Looks like the Legionnaire did something though, since I received word of an attack on West Point minutes later.
Flt.Adm Hale was already in combat with multiple hostiles, as well as a few of our ships that had finally pulled out of dock when I arrived. Finally the cavalry arrived in the form of an =LSF= strike force, as well as Lt. Cahoone, forcing the pirates back and destroying a hostile gunboat.
There were too many contacts to keep track of, so the patrol summary's a best guess. Any ship not noted as destroyed, survived or fled is presumed missing. A number of Freelancers also flew alongside or against us, I don't have their names or status available right now. ADMINO can chase it up if he really wants to know.

Promotions;
This is the follow-up to my previous transmission, in which I stated that we were thinking about more. After careful consideration, we have chosen to make the following changes to the roster:
Thomas Grayson, Jeremy McKenzie and Jane Hartman, you're all being promoted to Ensigns. Despite being a formality to some, this is the first step to a successful career in the Liberty Navy, and I hope you've settled in to the Primary Fleet well. More will be asked of you now, so I hope you're ready to fulfill your new responsibilities.
Michael Wright, we've seen consistent levels of performance from you. This is enough to warrant you a promotion to the rank of Junior Lieutenant. This should be your first taste of command, and we expect maturity from you in your new duties.
Reginald Lewis, Aleesha Cooper and Jorrza Clark, you're all being promoted from your current rank to Lieutenants. You've all been with us for a long time, and Aleesha especially has past experience which will be useful at your new stations. Best of luck to all three of you; only time will tell if you can progress further into the ranks of the mid-command.
Natalie Cahoone, your skill in combat and general discipline have been of a high enough standard to mean that you have been chosen as a new Lieutenant Commander. This is the furthest that you can progress in the Liberty Navy showing good, rather than exceptional talent in a field; your next promotion is almost certainly going to come from a Captain choosing you to be their partner in command.
That's all for now, but I have to say that I've seen some good patrols out recently. It's so nice to see you warming to our newest addition to High Command, Vice Admiral Lucia Defmir.

Commodore Robinson, I would firstly like to thank you for my promotion to Ensign. I look forward to serving to the best of my ability under the Navy. And now, I'd like to submit a report of a rather busy day in New York to the network.
Began with bumping into an incident at Manhattan. Seems a Mammoth pilot has been on the wrong side of the lines today. He was caught smuggling Cardimine onto Manhattan and regrettably, was not stopped, despite having been ordered to stop and refused docking permissions. He confessed to his crime, and was arrested for contraband possession and distribtion. Upon attempt to arrest, he ran and docked on Manhattan again.
Seems we're going to have to change over those docking administrators again. I really don't see how they're all being so easily paid off. Next up, I came across a Rhino, firing on fellow friendly rookies, and holding pilots hostage in his hold. He refused to hand them over or stop, and was disabled. All hostages were successfully recovered, although two suffered injuries in the form of bone breakage. They should be back to their duties within a month or so.
I received reports of a Behemoth transport breaking through the border, and we went to pursue it, too. It would seem that simply it was not an agreeing day, as he refused to turn his ship in, or be escorted from Liberty. He too, was dealt with, and the foreign technology removed.
Finally, a known pirate, flying what was identified as a Thor Red Hessian Bomber was intercepted moving through the California Jump Gate into New York. He too, was offered the chance to be escorted out.
Seems it's just not diplomacy's day.

Well well, our friendly neighbours from Rheinland decided to visit us in Texas with a huge ammount of Wraiths, some bombers and surprisingly only two cruisers. I actually expected the usual battleship swarm, but it looked like we were lucky today.
There isn't much more to say about it, our forces were located near the New York Jumpgate before the Rheinlanders attacked us. It turned into a huge battle with losses on both sides, after one hour we seemed to have gained control over the battle and it was also the moment when our enemies started their retreat.

Sirs, today I've seen more and more traders flying straight in the face of the embargo.
On numerous occassions this association has been recorded hauling contraband, breaking the Rheinland trade embargo, ignoring requests, resisting arrest and generally flouting the law.
I strongly, strongly suggest the immediate placement of a kill on sight order for all lawful forces against the corporation.
COMM ID: [color=#99FFFF]Fleet Admiral David Hale TARGET ID:Liberty Navy personel SUBJECT:Some announcements ENCRYPTION:Low PRIORITY:Medium
Hale here.
Ladies and gentlemen of the navy, I have a few announcements to make regarding the structure of our mid command. Numerous changes have taken place over the last few days.
- Captain Joshua Ashfield has resigned his commission and taken his leave from the Liberty Navy primary fleet. His service has been much appreciated, as is his dedication to the people of Liberty. He will be missed in the mid command structure.
- Captain Catherine Raven has been demoted to the rank of Lt. Commander. Her work with training some of the less experienced fighter pilots within our ranks is also appreciated, however due to certain situations her position as a Captain is not one which she can continue to hold. I ask her to continue her dilligent service to her uttmost ability in the rank which she has been assigned.
- Lt. Commander Randy Hurst has been promoted to Miss Raven's previous position as the strike-craft specialist Captain. He has recently transfered from the reserve fleet into the primary, however his service has been duly noted. I am absolutely certain of his coimpetance and dedication. he will be taking over Miss Raven's duties in training. Congratulations on the promotion, Captain Hurst. Do Liberty proud.
