Was mining in tau 23.

A hogosha id'd transport with No iff at all comes up and says

" seams the miners have put a bounty on my head i will take your ore in compensation " Then commenses to firing seconds later i had been there for maybe 20 ish minutes + and got around 1700 ore He takes all of my cargo while im still in 23.....

Would this be considered as extensive I would have hired an escort but there were none around @ the time...

First: You've got a picture in there that's 800x286 pixels. The maximum signature size is 700x250.
Second: Your other picture in the rotation fills the full 700x250 boundaries by itself.
With an image that big, you can't fit any text below it. Please fix this.

Is it wrong for someone to mug you of all your money?

Sure, but it happens anyway...

Depends on the pirate.

Take the Mollies as an example, who depend on the Gold mines to survive. They'll probably steal everything from you, but yes, it's within their roleplay.

I want to get off Mr. Igiss' wild ride.

Was it [|]General.Yarr?

Anything I say is not intended as offensive, and to try and deliberately misinterpret it as such would be an attempt at trolling via misrepresentation.

It's not a conspiracy, it's localised bias. They're not intelligent enough to form a conspiracy.

The IMG did massively bounty Yarr, he's every right to be nasty in return.

And yeah, it's legit. It's generally bad form at best to demand more cargo than you can fit unless the trader's being a complete jerk (not really a rare occurrence, sadly...), but 1.7k is a roughly Raba-sized chunk.

Sorry mate, but it happens. It takes him awhile to take the ore back somewhere else, that gives you some time to mine safely before he returns; use that time to get what you can and scram before he gets back.

Alternatively, you can A) start running as soon as they show up at 14k, or B) immediately offer half of your cargo before they say anything. The latter doesn't always work, but a lot of (non-idiot) pirates will take it as a sign of respect and settle for that; you don't have to always suffer because most traders apparently would rather deny the pirate than use common sense (bragging about wasting 30 mins of pirate time by running to a system wall... I still have trouble figuring out what insane troll logic makes that happen...), some pirates are so desperate for prey that says stuff (other than "I report" or ")))" anyway, I get a lot of those on my Das Wilde...) and/or respects them that they'll gladly take less than they came for. Can't hurt if you aren't running, anyway.

EDIT:

Not taking that bet.

I litterally chuckled at "lapig"

the Yarr has Hogosha IFF, and I doubt he flies a transport... could be wrong though.

Ooh, point, he does have the IFF. Transports, though, he certainly flies, how else to you scoop up the ore of non-compliant miners? I'm not even sure he has any non-transports these days...

This was actually last night. And I have a pillbug, with 2700 cargo space. Both my piracy ships have more room then a mining ship, for obvious reasons.

And yes, the OP did pay for 'the sins of the fathers'. I learned long ago that unless I was in and out of T23 in about a minute, I wasn't getting out with any ore. So fly in, hit the trader with a hard demand, get out.

There are miners that avoid this hammering though. Ones that talk to me from across the system tend to find themselves spared from Yarr's wrath. Those who willingly co-operate the first couple of times usually find their demands lessened and the demander to be less demanding. Or if there are other targets around they get to fly away quietly.

Those who whine at me in PM, put a bounty on Yarr's head, and then make whine threads on the forums though, they do not get the nice treatment. They get the podia-endoscopic treatment.

Yarr has a Gunboat, for dealing with pesky Junkers. A pesky Junker interrupted him tonight though, a sad thing. Waran vs Pillbug isn't much of a match. That's where the Kudos to Pelt comes from. But Yarr generally only pirates in transports. Pirating in his GB is done non-deliberately on a 'as it happens, you're here, and I have CDs' basis.

He seems to leave a crew member surviving each time and with each story being told his legend grows..
