So why are Mollys and Gaians hostile to each other ?

I don't mean current factions but in general.

Mollys don't bomb planet or such, Cork had it's disaster by corsairs.
Gaians and Mollys fight for different reasons but both against Bretonia lawfuls.

Gaians are somewhat connected to corsairs (which would preserve nature due their need of food etc...)

But why would Mollys attack Gaians and otherwise (did I miss something?, except gaians connection with sairs..but I don't think gaians have interest to help corsairs against mollys, only against bretonians)

And why would Gaians be friendly with kusari lawfuls, when they're like...bombing the hell out of Bretonia planets and polluting it's space with war.

Rather good question there, mate.
From what I remember Mollys and Gaians were hostile to each other even at vanilla. Maybe because Mollys kicked out Gaians out of the systems they claim as their own. After all Mollys don't want to share Dublin with the rest of Bretonia, and Gaians are bretonians (from Cambridge). Other explaination is Corsairs made them break relations so they can have an advantage.

About the Gaians allied with Kusari - WTF MAN?!?! The only possible thing coming to mind is... Gaians and Farmers Alliance could be friends because want natural things. And since such an alliance wouldn't harm anyone, maybe Hogosha just used their connections to get them to neutrality with the Empreror (Agh... I so want to crack a Warhammer joke at the moment).

That's how explain it.
Gaians not Irish -> They are not the mollys' friends.
Gaians are friendly with the Farmers and the Hogosha and Hogosha could've persuaded Kusari to give them neutrality.

Not sure if it's true. That's just my version.

Well, in general, a portion of Gaians is composed of pirates who only wear the Gaian tag because of the Corsair alliance. So yeah, it makes sense for those to be hostile to Mollies. But the others... Well, my NLH doesn't attack Mollies in most cases. Relations between the two aren't exactly straightforward at any rate. Also, we have some common interests such as harassing BMM:P

The relationship with the old Molly Republic deteriorated because of the armistice as well - so our (NLH) diplomatic stance towards the Seperatists ought to be slightly different than our stance towards other, more pro-Bretonian groups.

About the Kusarians; yeah, the Hogosha connection as well as the fact Kusari takes care of its planets hell of a lot better than Bretonians. And Leeds is a hell on earth as it is, so in the eyes of some, even war-ravaged Leeds would recover more quickly under Kusarian rule than under BMM.

Well as scientific gaians...you expect them to be...somewhat intelligent.

So Kusari wants to expland it's territory, I bet they will invade Gaia also..or so they would in the "real universe scenario"...And their green heaven would be turned in everyday normal planet...which isn't Gaian goal.

And as Corsairs did bomb the mollys, I've rather imagine that Gaians stands up with mollys against all of them , then supporting corsairs (even corsairs need planets..they're savages in wars...which isn't actually reassuring)

My stance is... Make Mollys / IMG friendly, drop Corsairs to friedly (tech exchange still applies, though, as well as base usage agreements and trade agreements).

IMG / Mollys / Gaians & Greenfront should form some sort of political opposition to BMM / Bowex, as well as war machine of Bretonia (since their technologies are quite polluting, as we can judge from Southampton debris field.:P

EDIT: I don't like enemies being based on allied factions diplomacy.

I do not know why shouldn't gaians ally with Kusari. They're enemy of Bretonia and they have much better planet care program developed as shown simply by not having Leeds 2 in Kusari.

The Gaians are a terrorist faction opposed to any alteration to the natural environment of a planet, specifically those brought about through terraforming. They mainly operate in Edinburgh, in Bretonia space and the nearby Border Worlds, but some rumors tell about detected Gaians in Corsair space.

History:

The first Gaians were not criminals, but simple, civilian scientists on Planet Cambridge in the Cambridge Research Institute. When the first rural meadows evolved, consuming the research areas of the Institute, some biologists who saw the far gone pollution and non-economical life of Bretonia decided to protect the last untouched areas of the Sirius space by force and weapons.
These radical scientists were the origin of the Gaians. Presently the Gaians are one of the largest criminal groups in Bretonian space. The organization has many sympathizers in the Cambridge Research Institute, and due to its alliance with the Corsairs, many young Bretonians who are scared of leaving their home space choose to fight with the Gaians for a better Bretonia.



Gotta love wiki, anyways...The Gaians are hostile with the Mollies because the accepted a ''alliance'' with the Corsairs to survive. As the Mollies are real enemies of the Corsairs and try to free Dublin from Bretonian control, but also Corsairs. Thanks to this it's abit understandable that they will act hostile to Mollies.
