I'm wondering if the raised distances between Gamma and Alpha have made the raiders go "meh". Or perhaps people are just still trying out the new toys in 4.86 - the Jormugand and such.
Honestly, the distance from Alpha to Gamma more then trippled and due to the new OC dreadmodel being unable to get through even the least dense asteroid field in the game without getting stuck, people simply dont bother.
Also, about the jorm. I think othervise. Jorms were being spammed for a few days/first two weeks then when they realised that it could not hope to solo a legate even if it had more armor (after CAU is applied). So most jorm players dont bother. The Jorm cant win. Its simply not able to keep the distance it needs in the areas that it will face the legate, namely the asteroid fields of the Omegas. It simply cant run away fast enough to survive, add to that the insane bomber spam the sairs deploy to deal with them and their a rather "un-fun" ship to fly.
As for corsair activity. YOU ALL CONTRIBUTED TO IT GOING DOWN. WHO THE HELL IS GONNA LOG THEIR SAIR WHEN THEY KNOW SOME GANK-ARMY IS JUST ITCHING TO KILL YOU THE SECOND YOU UNDOCK FROM CRETE OR ANYWERE ELSE FOR THAT MATTER.
The lack of "visible" sairs is the result of outright morons, raiding gamma and the surrounding systems 24/7, making it practically and theoretically impossible to fly a corsair ship without being kill by some "lol! engagbung!!1!!!!!1!!1!!1!!!!one" gunboat flying merc.
And then ontop of that is the fact that most of the corsair stuff DID GET NERFED, and whoever says that it is not a big enough nerf to matter should shut their trap and gtfo.
Corsairs 4.85.3 = / = Corsairs 4.86.3
The difference is only visible to those USED to fly as a corsair. To those of us dedicated enough to jump into a fight were we are most likely going to be outnumbered, with ships thats sub-par compared to our enemies.
Actually Prysin I think the Gamma raids are the best thing that happened to the Corsairs. Originally they were a response to what was going to be yet another FP9 gangrape - it ended up turning on the Corsairs which I found rather poetic. Later on it decimated the bored Legates/Osiris cruising around anywhere south of Gamma where they would have exactly no resistance. Now they only cruise around at 3 am when all Hessians are asleep, and we actually see Corsairs in fighters and bombers more often now that their main enemy has a way to deal with capship swarm without having to outnumber them 2:1.
The Jormungand isn't a n00bcap, but that doesn't mean it can't take a Legate on and win with proper support (as battleships are expected to be used). It can definitely rush an Osiris and win one on one as is expected from a medium battleship. The forward gun is also a fun twist.
Also, nothing Corsair got nerfed except the Osiris which was massively OP anyway. So stop spreading lies.

I totally agree with you and will use this quote when submitting a proposal to buff jorm. Truly, it needs to have equal chances with legate, buffing core, armor and turret number should suffice.

knowing your affiliation with the corsair faction as a whole, i find your entire statement full of ignorance.
As if the FP9 incident was the trigger. The real trigger was the bounties placed on us by various factions hiring mercs. Reaching several millions for a mere gunboat or cruiser. The reavers made big bucks on this, then Rorries came. And while rorries and reavers are a decent, although just as annoying as anyone else, buncha lads, they still managed to bring with them the bandwagon of "haters". Said "haters" are justa buncha idiots who induldge in assaulting less experienced players with superior weaponry and ships. Thus the little bit of status quo that was there in the beginning was lost, leading to the further demise of corsairs ability to strike back.
Couple that with the 4 hour "you cant log your char at all, not even in another system" rule and youve efficiently killed any way of just leaving the system and play in another. Since most players do not find it neccesary or even enjoyable to fly several different chars within one faction, one can only assume that once you take someone down, they are barred for 4 hours regardless what system they were in.
If you want to glorify someone, or something. Atleast have the balls to admit that REAVERS DID IT BEFORE IT WAS COOL.
Hessians, lone mercs, FACE... their all just riding a bandwagon that was set in motion by what Reavers did in the past.
Nah, the real trigger was the FP9 thing. That was when everyone and their mother basically put aside their stuff and went after Corsairs alone. Hessian 5-6 jorm brigades supported by a similar or greater amount of fighters and bombers was a planned thing that managed to basically kill everything in Gamma time and again. It didn't invent the Gamma raid, by no means. It just intensified it by an order of magnitude as a response to what can only be described as being a massive blowhard "because you can". Call it a force of nature seeking to restore balance if you wish.
Also, I do have not just one Corsair char but three actually. All used as indies semi regularly. So I know probably more than you about Corsairs, I haven't seen your Sail in ages.
Just to clear this up. I am not afraid of them. (smoke)

Hessians having a BS in the first place is farfetched. Their certainly the largest criminal organisation after the Sairs and Casts, but they do not possess their own planets, and although their miners, their first and foremost politically oriented as the rest of rheinland unlawfuls. Their not marauders who just pillage.
Their main funding, which i presume is blood diamonds, arent widespread enough to fund the construction of a jorm fleet. At most that faction should only have ONE JORM and that should belong to the official faction of the Red Hessiand NPC group.
From a roleplay perspective, there is nothing that supports the hessians of being capable of producing overpowered ships.
While infact, Corsairs has been rumored to be the best ship builders in Sirius since the days of vanilla. So may i ask you, before you make yet another "buff ships belonging to corsair enemies" thread, do you have any valid excuse what so ever for such a upgrade to happen inRP?
The largest threat to the Red Hessians is the Rheinland Military, the Corsairs are more like their hated rivals on the black market and even from a lore perspective, the main objective of the Red Hessians is changing the political situation in RHEINLAND. Thus the jorm should be balanced to fight the RM Turtle. In which it should be quite potent given its ability to perform as a heavily buffed Siege Cruiser.
If anything, the hessians has nothing that can or should be buffed, they got THE best cruiser missile ingame coupled with one of the best cruisers avaliable. A strong VHF and a potent fighter weapon. Their Capital turrets are also quite good, in the end the Red Hessian faction is not a house not even close to being a demi-house as the Corsairs and Outcasts is. They do not possess ingame resources enough to actually compete with either faction.
Infact, the Red Hessians are somewhat comparable to the CR of 4.85;
In a face of a full blown war with the Corsair empire, they would not stand a chance, and the only way the Red Hessian faction can become a threat is by exploiting and putting pressure on the Corsairs, who is determined to continue their war with the Outcasts.
If either the Outcast or the Corsairs decided to wipe their menacing enemies off the map, they would be completely capable of it, inRP and OORP wise given their large playerbase.
Bottom line is; Stop overestimating the power of your beloved faction and realize the fact that Corsairs and Outcasts are BOTH one half of a house. There is no single unlawful faction that can stand up to either of those two on their own. Be it Hessians, Mollies, Dragons, nomads, SCRA or the Order.
To "beat" anything on disco, you need a lore that can make it feasible. No faction beside the house militaries themselves has any remote chance of beating the Corsairs in a full blown war were both sides are fully dedicated to annihalate the other side.

My sail? do you even know which is mine? And even if you do, you would to wisely to check the omegas or cambridge when looking for me. You will never find me loitering in gamma unless im setting up a ship or changing my loadouts (curse you Cadiz for your lack of weaponry)
