Same as LWB, unioners, farmers' alliance, Hogosha...

Was even surprised to find an IMG guard system...

Anywho, I think that quite a few corporations might have the reasons to own systems. Terraformers (as BSG previously) would go into a major terraforming op, Spa & Cruise could send luxury liners or even construct a space hotel in some extremely appealing place... Not sure about shipping companies though... Their corporate HQs?

Ontario what a popular system for development. <<a>> threw the idea around, so has the inquisition. Heck I even got an idea for turning it into a corporate sector.

This crossed my mind just today, because the situation has not arisen before, and I read the Gal-Ex post.
The Inquisitor's claim was probably denied because one, you hadn't been round long enough, and two,
normal system owning factions need five full time members to fulfil that criteria. None of the non-military
or guard-less NPC factions have any current rules attatched to them yet.
So until we have a few new system owning rules and regulations in place, lets say they are out of bounds
to those with out faction guards. So back to the drawing board for a while ...
I will try to get this addressed as quickly as possible, but do not hold your collective breath waiting for a
fast reply please ...

Sorry Hoodlum, missed your post.

As hoodlum says, there is no rule against it so why couldn't GalEx, RepEx, IND, OSC own a system.

@ Templar: Shipping is not GalEx's only thing. GalEx is also involved with the arms trade, and Escorting servicies. In a system we could no just have a Corporate HQ but also could have Shipyards for the Transports, Training Facilities for Pilots, Deuling areas for training, processing stations for Shipments of various backgrounds, An allied station or 2, mabe a SA Dread. What else do you need? That is enough for 4 or 5 bases right there.

If so, then you have my (and I believe that many others') blessing in achieving your goal. All those empty systems are just waiting to get modded

(go, getm:crazy:)

lol Templar, take your pills.

Now as for those systems, I think it would really be awesome to have like a huge corporate system. With massive bases, and planets everywhere, trade lanes like wire going everywhere. Each of the biggest companies having their own bases. And then a small Mall like hub where all the smaller corps exist. And solar panels and such. Lots of npcs of course.

My point was, there are no rules to cover this, till there are, its a moot one ... Calling it a ridiculous situation
isn't going to help your's or anyone else's cause. There are good reasons for some of the non military/pirate
and non guard NPC factions to get a look in, but give it a bit of time. All the others had to wait a while for the
systems claimed to be allocated fully.
So call off the 'Ontario Race' guys, ain't going to happen quickly anyway. And the criteria for owning will, I'm
sure, come with a pretty tight set of rules, for those interested in any system now ... Ontario may even come
off the market. Seems to be a bit popular, possible position and through traffic ?
So till we get a definative on this, lets not jump the gun ...

(takes another sip of vodka)

Yeah, malls in space like that orbital colony in Munich

They would however have to be regular NPCs, not guards... what point in visiting such a place if all that would welcome you there would be dozens of mad NPCs...

Getting a system is a lenghty process... Even when on the side of the buyer/modder all conditions are met ASAP. This time, according to existing rules, it'll take even longer.

Doesn't hurt to dream....However, maintaining a proper demeanor goes a long way towards gaining your goal. In the end, gentlemen, is this goal worthy of your industry? If so, continue your debate and iron-out the details. Don't let anything stand in your way and be courteous:)

Has left this police-state to its fate.

Okay.. People can buy the post-4.80 (or 4.81?) systems, as long as their RP would allow it. For example; Liberty Navy can (and did) buy Virginia. RM cannot..

Your faction can't buy a guard system from another NPC faction either.

But as long as its not a generic ID your faction uses (Trader, Merc, Pirate, etc) you can buy an empty system and have it populated by a modder. If you wanted guard NPCs you'd have to ask Igiss if the modder can add those guard NPCs for that faction into an empty system. He might say yes, he might say no. But you can still have it populated by normal ships (example; New Berlin system, New York, New Tokyo, etc) which doesn't give you the kind of protection that guard systems do, and is more of a Vanilla feel and just a place to hang out, get equipment, commodities, etc.

Also to whoever said Commodities are not allowed in faction systems; They are. Modders simply can't add in commodities that will make great trade routes. (You won't see one making as much as the Cam-Corfu run.)

OK, next question. How does one A) Go about requesting these things from Igiss and buying the system, and B)Find a modder to populate the system?

600 million credits right??? We got that.
