Well, update..
I did get my new computer. Runs GWs perfectly.
Picked up NF and Factions.
Played them both a bit. But unfortunately, the game is so much different then when I left years ago.. Parties are so much harder to come by, people prefer to solo then go into groups.. Makes doing missions painful.
This is a really big hurt on my interest in this game, seeing as how I played through Prophecies with full groups of people straight until the end..
Now, even when I take my healing monk to NF or Factions.. I can barely ever find a group to do quests.
:(
I don't play much anymore at all, really. But I may get on from time to time to fool around and have some fun.
I've gotten into WoW lately, so been playing that, too.
Well, I haven't been on in a while, but my main's are Slash the whirlwind (reap was taken) and feel the unseen.
........Once more unto the breach, dear friends, once more;..........But when the blast of war blows in our ears,.....
........Or close the wall up with our English dead...........................Then imitate the action of the tiger;.................
........In peace there's nothing so becomes a man........................Stiffen the sinews, summon up the blood,.........
........As modest stillness and humility:........................................Disguise fair nature with hard-favour'd rage!....

I've noticed that. Its because in Nightfall they added "Heroes". Of course, I'm too stupid (or more likely, lazy) to figure how to use them or skill them properly... I still prefer groups of players because my Heroes suck. I hate the Nightfall campaign and classes, anyway... Except for one Dervish skill.
Damn you Koss!!
Anyway! My update:
Vi R U S : W/Mo Swordsman Lvl 20 Half of two of the campaigns...
Trojan Rabbit : N/Mo (N/Me) MM or Spiteful Spirit lvl 20
Genjii The Ninja: A/D Moebius Strike Spammer lvl 20
Peasant Patsy: E/Me Degen Spammer lvl 14
I've played guild wars a long time too, but 2 weeks after nightfall was released I felt boring,
my heros suck and I dislike the nightfall campaign...But the best on the whole game is pvp in fort aspenwood xD
characters:
Malazag Coldreaver W/Mo 20 (yes, brainless warriors are the best!)
Malazag Shadownekro N/Mo 20
Malazag Silverlight R/Mo 20
(yes I know nearly everyone is a monk-.-)
Yunko the monk Mo/E 14
Ragnaros Arkanos E/R 12
Arcadia Eredar D/Mo 8 (Dervishs are the weakest class in the whole game if you ask me >.>)
-sry I've forgot the name xD- A/Mo 13
A W Magnum R/Me 20 (PvP character, its nearly impossible to die with him...)
I've finished the factions campaign and the prophecies campaign is nearly finished.
I have played just the first quests in nightfall and decided that its crap.:P

High-five! Totally sucks!:D
I stick to Factions. (Though, I do wish the Afflicted wouldn't EXPLODE so much.)
This sould-explosions aren't soo hard. My warriors gotd enough HP & defence so those explosions don't deal much damage.
But nothing can beat my R/Me pvp-character, this build is nearly perfect, it works only because of one very nice ranger skill - (dunno the real english name, I don't have guild wars installed yet otherwise I would get the english name :o, but I think its 'sharp shot' or 'aim shot' or 'sniper shot' or something like this, it costs 5 energy and has a cooldown of 2 seconds. It deals 1.....22 bonus damage and deactivates all other attacking skills for 5....2 seconds....) it deals nice damage at low energy costs and this deactivating-effect can be bugused, so you activate this skill, (the arrow is flying on your enemy) and directly after the ranger has shot u activate 'wild shot', so 2 dmg dealin arrows are fired due to the bug that the first shot deactivates the skills when he hits something. (the ground or an enemy, whatever...) However this is alone nice, but if you combinate it with this exploding arrows it deals very nice damage.
yeeah...that's kinda the point, isn't it? who wants to eternally grind for better levels - playing with a *very* large variety of spells and weapons available, and actually being able to use them without playing 7 days a week, is so much more fun. also, you can walk away from guild wars for months, and when you come back, there'll be all kinds of new stuff to do in whatever new expansion pack they've released, but your characters won't be ridiculously outdated and require weeks of collecting new gear (WoW, anyone?).
the best way to "use" a hero, i've found, is to just give him the same skill setup you use on another character - example, i have a fairly powerful monk...on all my other characters, my hero monk emulates her exactly (same spell list and attributes), so they kick butt too. it's not a perfect system, since the AI doesn't always understand skill chaining, but it's good enough to get you through most quests without players. on the other hand, i always get with other players for an actual mission, where even fully upgraded heroes don't always cut it, and the levels are designed for 8 players. then, the beauty of heroes is that your party of 7 doesn't have to spend an hour waiting in the lobby for another monk - just one hero won't bring the party down *too* much.
i love heroes:).
"Bennes Maximus" - an AoE/DoT fire god. primarily Factions, but i own and play the first 3 (don't have Eye of the North yet).
It's the pilot's skill that makes him deadly; the best ship in the 'Verse won't save you from me.
I don't think I'll be picking up the new expansion for GW..
But I do plan to grab GW2 when it comes out. It should be like the GW of old, and if you guys end up getting it, too, we should form a guild.
