Junkah, oh. they don't need carriers.. anyway, looks cool. also, those cylinders needs a nerf! These bastards are always hungry.

So unless you frontally charge yes you are endangering your crew.
Just add is to the mod k?
I want more ships more!
even when it ain't my taste it still is well made.
imho, lets take corsairs or liberty or whoever you want, each! each them should be able to choose between couple of cruisers, and crap load of VHFs and other snubcraft... MOAR! MOAR SHIPS!
The arrow could be far more effective with a proper texture... a few yellow V's indicating launch direction, or a series of lights flashing in sequence. That said, excellent model, and you can see clearly where the gun turrets are planned to be placed. I count 17 turret slots? I like.
Which faction is this for by the way? Looks a bit... Rheinlandish to me.

Agreed. Rheinland influences, certainly, especially with the general vertical orientation of the ship, similar to the Rheinland Cruiser and Gunboat. The engine wings also invoke a slight resemblance to the Banshee and the original concept of the Valkyrie. The rounded bridge also seems to indicate Rheinland origin.
Now, for feedback.
One thing I have an issue with is the arms and ramp thing at the bow of the ship. I'm not sure what you intended them to be, but if they were intended to be loading arms, my recommendation is to remove them. A carrier is designed to both transport and protect strike craft such as fighters and bombers, and leaving them exposed while they are ferried in with loading arms is not the best method of doing so. It is best to let the fighters enter under their own power, as we know Freelancer ships can stop fairly quickly.
Additionally, the ramp presents too much of a hazard to be viable. If a damaged strike craft clips that on approach, the sudden change in momentum could easily send it tumbling into the underside of the bridge. At best, it would warp the ramp itself, possibly obstructing future landings.
My suggestion is replace the ramp and arms with thin antennae or the like for light hardpoints to be added onto, as a sort of approach indicator for inbound ships. Blast doors might also be a good addition, to keep hostile fire from entering the hanger deck.

If the ship is intended as one that will be taking damage, having any of your hanger facing forward is like asking men to jump through a wall of fire to get to safety.
Better to get to safety with less getting shot at.
It will be the samething in every direction I put it. Enemies attack the ship from all direction, not only forward. Hell, a mortar can blast a bridge - Any bridge. Bombardment attacks are lead mostly front/sides - (hence why i made it launch backwards - less risk; in RP).
Now traveling head on, you wouldn't think that in RP the ship might have a powerful forward shield to with stand enough firepower while it has the chance to make a retreat/ u-turn? In my book, thats a useful RP idea for any Sci-Fi games.
So, to conclude, any where you put the hangars - it will get blasted inside if the Captain or pilot don't do something quickly enough.
